Chapter 23: The Grand Stage of the Ancient Tree – If You Dare, Come On

Jié Jié quickly regained his composure, but by this time, the Flying Thunder Dragon had already swallowed the meat in its mouth. With a single flip, it leapt and climbed onto the tree wall, emitting an angry roar.

Its thick, feather-covered tail rubbed against the bark, sparking intense lightning light. With a flutter, it swung its electric-lit tail towards Jié Jié.

At this moment, Jié Jié had just mimicked the Flying Thunder Dragon and swallowed the meat. The tail struck right into his face.

Though the sides of the tail were lined with spines, the overall structure was feathers, which lacked substantial damage to the Savage Jaw Dragon. However, the attached lightning was no laughing matter.

The spines failed to pierce the muscles, but the electricity drilled through the skin, conducting along the nerves, causing excruciating pain across half of Jie Jie’s face.

An unknown number of cells were pierced and died by the current, yet it couldn’t penetrate further to destroy the neural center.

As the Flying Thunder Dragon’s tail retreated after the strike, the residual current merely conducted superficially towards other areas, getting dispersed.

Jié Jié became increasingly proficient at ignoring the pain, lunging towards the Flying Thunder Dragon with a bite, but his paralyzed cheeks didn’t respond well, moving slowly as the Flying Thunder Dragon dodged, jumped to the opposite tree wall, and continued generating electricity.

Once again chasing and biting, Jie Jie got hit by another tail, symmetrically on both sides, leaving his entire head numb and sharp with pain. In this somewhat narrow space, it seemed he had no way to deal with the opponent, even his vision becoming chaotic due to the current.

Generating electricity, huh? Playing with electricity, huh!

Jié Jié directly transformed from a Savage Jaw Dragon into a Black Wolf Bird, instantly feeling no more pain or numbness on his face.

Ultra-high lightning resistance, Black Wolf Bird! Kid!

No longer numb, body flexible, I’ll spit a fireball at you, aow!

The rolling fireball flew over, and the confused Flying Thunder Dragon due to the sudden dragon change was blown away.

But because of that one explosion, Jie Jie lost track of it.

It was like accurately slapping a mosquito, but when you open your hand, there’s no corpse.

Jié Jié looked around left and right. As the path gradually widened, the gaps between the tree walls entwined with plants also grew wider. Did my attack miss its escape route?

Well, let’s keep going.

Jié Jié continued walking upwards.

Not long after he left, the silver-white figure flipped back from behind the wooden wall, shaking its body and choosing to track the Black Wolf Bird.

Going up from here led to a rather large open platform, with vines hanging down all around, used as decoration.

There were also flashing winged insects flying in the air. The green glowing Guide Insects formed ribbons in the sky, turning red in welcome due to Jie Jie’s arrival.

Hmm, this must be a welcome.

If the Ancient Tree were a villa, then Jie Jie had arrived at the most splendid balcony of this villa.

Standing at the edge of the balcony, Jie Jie could look far into the distance, seeing many views of the forest below, with an expansive view.

A red shadow flashed past outside the balcony; it was a Male Fire Dragon.

But this red dragon wasn’t the one Jie Jie had fought before; it was much smaller in size. From the fleeting details, it didn’t have too many scars on its body, its shell color was bright, clearly indicating it was a young Fire Dragon.

And after the young Fire Dragon, another swift red shadow flashed by, the numerous scars on its body revealing its identity—it was the veteran Fire Dragon.

A green shadow turned in the air, arriving at this balcony, elegantly folding its wings.

This was also a Fire Dragon, but unlike the Male Fire Dragon, its whole shell was emerald green, with a long poison spike protruding from its chin.

This was the female Fire Dragon, known as the Queen of the Land.

Upon landing, the Female Fire Dragon immediately saw the Black Wolf Bird. With a roar of anger, fiery fireballs came rushing.

Jie Jie flapped his wings and glided to the lower part of the balcony, entering the blind spot of the Female Fire Dragon’s vision and transforming into a Smoky Snow Weasel.

The Female Fire Dragon standing by the balcony no longer saw the Black Wolf Bird, so she pulled her head back and quietly waited for something on the balcony.

Transformed into a Smoky Snow Weasel, Jie Jie silently climbed back onto the balcony, feeling that what might happen next would be quite exciting?

Outside the balcony, the aerial dogfight between the two Male Fire Dragons still hadn’t ended. The young Male Fire Dragon repeatedly tried to rush into the balcony but was chased away by the veteran Male Fire Dragon each time.

That Female Fire Dragon watched indifferently, seemingly waiting for the two dragons to decide the winner.

The aerial combat skills of the young Male Fire Dragon were far superior to Jie Jie’s, managing to hold out until now without being defeated, instead pulling the veteran Male Fire Dragon along.

After a while, they weren’t seen anymore, but instead, another red shadow darted in, carrying a Herbivore Dragon in a hurry towards the back of the Female Fire Dragon.

This was a new Male Fire Dragon, looking like a lustful dragon.

“Roar!”

The Female Fire Dragon didn’t give this intruder a good look, flapping her wings and retreating backward, shooting a neat fireball at this offending creature.

The Male Fire Dragon whose face was covered by the goddess’s fireball didn’t retreat, raising the Herbivore Dragon in its mouth, pacing back and forth on the platform, flapping its wings.

This seemed to be courting?

But the youthful and attractive Female Fire Dragon still paid no attention to it, bending her neck to scrape her cheek against her wings.

“Tsk tsk tsk.”

Jie Jie, who had been watching this scene from a nearby tree, made a sound but was not noticed by the two dragons.

As expected, the two Male Fire Dragons outside were competing for this Female Fire Dragon, while this guy was trying to take advantage of the situation.

After some time, the Male Fire Dragon, not receiving any response during courtship, became impatient, dropping the Herbivore Dragon and charging towards the Female Fire Dragon again.

Afraid to participate in the external battle for mates, attacking the Mother Dragon, even Jie Jie, who was just watching for fun, couldn’t bear to see it.

Any male should disdain such behavior.

But the Female Fire Dragon was not some frail heroine; she flapped her wings and pounced and bit at the Male Fire Dragon.

Fight, keep fighting.

The Smoky Snow Weasel waited to reap the benefits.

However, shortly after the fight began, the veteran Male Fire Dragon with a scarred and no longer vibrant shell plunged in.

Who could endure a home invader?

He directly mounted the Male Fire Dragon, pinning it to the ground, roaring at its head.

It was loud, and Jie Jie, in Smoky Snow Weasel form, hurriedly extended his little claws to cover his ears, closing his eyes as well.

When the roar subsided, it was seen that the veteran Male Fire Dragon had bitten the struggling wings of the defeated Male Fire Dragon and snapped them with a crunch, making Jie Jie feel phantom limb pain.

With the wings in its mouth and coordinating with its claws, it flapped its wings with terrifying strength, directly throwing the loser off the balcony.

“Hiss!”

Jie Jie exclaimed how ruthless it was. When he reached the edge of the balcony, the fallen dragon had already disappeared into the forest, though it seemed still alive.

Should I go pick up the remains?

While hesitating, Jie Jie turned his head and saw that the veteran Male Fire Dragon had already mounted the Female Fire Dragon.

And the previously chaste and virtuous Female Fire Dragon now seemed like a submissive little wife, humbly squatting down, allowing the Male Fire Dragon to bite her neck.

Is this something I should be watching?

Jie Jie no longer cared about the fallen dragon and found a good spot to enjoy the spectacle.
