Chapter 23: Get Your Dirty Feet Off!

Chapter 23: Get Your Dirty Feet Off!

“Hmph. Too weak to withstand it. Now it’s your turn.”

Looking at the two engulfed by the explosion, Gilbaris redirected his gaze back to Yaser. He couldn’t let Yaser interfere with Titan.

“Too weak? Who are you talking about?”

“?”

Hearing that voice, Gilbaris couldn’t believe it and turned back to the two he just saw.

“How did you two manage that? It’s impossible to be unscathed!”

Gilbaris was in disbelief. Aierjisi and Yake, after eating their roasted chicken, were standing in front of him completely unharmed. How was that possible?

“You wouldn’t know, huh? Honestly, I don’t either. Take a wild guess.”

Aierjisi wasn’t stupid enough to reveal the secret of their invulnerability. The reason she and Yake remained unharmed was merely the result of a gamble she took.

Usually, when two different beings undergo fusion or separation, there’s a brief period of invulnerability during which any attacks can’t harm them.

Though she wasn’t sure if such a mechanism existed in this world, Aierjisi and Yake chose to take that gamble in their desperate situation. The reality was, she won the bet—that’s all.

“Yaser, hurry and get to Weirafiya’s side. She needs your help right now. We’ll deal with this jerk, so go quickly!”

Aierjisi interrupted Gilbaris’s assault on Yaser, urging him to move while she faced him.

“Okay, thank you, Miss Aierjisi. You two be careful; this guy is tough.”

“Don’t worry, I’ve faced this guy at least three times before. I know exactly how to handle him. Now hurry over!”

Aierjisi stood between Yaser and Gilbaris, blocking him from taking action against Yaser.

“Looks like resolving things between us isn’t going to be easy.”

“Of course! You’re not just anyone to me. You destroyed my home, the Moon God Palace, and harmed all my Blood Clan kin. With those piled up, I can’t let you off the hook.”

“If I had two things done against me, I wouldn’t let my opponent off either. But before that, you should really think about the gap in our strengths.”

Gilbaris stood up and stretched his limbs. With Aierjisi’s meager strength, there was no way she could contend with him. Seeking revenge? That was just laughable.

“Don’t forget, I’m here too!”

Yake stepped forward, positioning himself beside the Little Princess, reminding Gilbaris not to overlook his presence.

“You? Honestly, you’re inconsequential to me. If it weren’t for you coincidentally being the shared life in the Contract, I wouldn’t even spare you a glance, got it?”

“Well, I’m truly grateful for that, but let me remind you: it’s best to improve your attitude. Underestimating any enemy could lead to your defeat by someone you look down upon.”

“Thanks for the advice, but that proposal means nothing to me because I will absolutely never face that day.”

Defeated by someone he underestimated? Gilbaris didn’t believe such nonsense. After all, he was the Ultimate Life Form! There was no way he’d fall to someone he looked down on!

“Enough talk, Yake. No need to waste more time with this guy. Let’s get back to fighting; the battle’s still ongoing.”

“You’re right. Let’s continue.”

Aierjisi and Yake took combat stances, facing the formidable Gilbaris.

“Come on, come on! You two aren’t even a match for me while fused. You think you can take me on separately? That’s impossible, you know!”

Noticing they seemed unwilling to fuse and still wanted to fight him, Gilbaris couldn’t help but laugh at their antics.

If they couldn’t even beat him together, they stood no chance apart. He could easily defeat them with a playful mindset.

“How would you know without trying? Let’s go, Yake!”

“Okay!”

“Hmph, then bring it on! Show me what you’ve got!”

As they charged at him, Gilbaris completely dismissed the threat, casually launching an attack at them.

<Now’s our chance! Ultra Fusion!>

Taking advantage of the moment when he was distracted by their attack, Aierjisi chose this moment to fuse with Yake. They effectively used the invincibility period granted by the fusion to block his attack.

“Oh? You chose to fuse at this moment? But even if you did, you still won’t be my match.”

Gilbaris opened his arms to catch Yake as he charged at him. They collided, but this close range wasn’t something he excelled in. He was trying to create distance. Yet Yake knew he must not let Gilbaris pull away and continued to press in.

“Ah!”

Weirafiya screamed in agony. Currently, she was being used as a practice dummy under Titan’s foot. In such a short time, she had already resurrected five times. If she weren’t the Phoenix, she’d probably be finished by now.

“Not bad, not bad! Who would’ve thought using you as a test subject would be such a delightful experience.”

Titan continued swinging his sword, attacking Weirafiya and leaving wounds on her.

“Get your dirty feet off the young lady!”

“Ah?”

Titan turned his head toward the source of the voice, only to see Yaser rushing at him with a sword.

“Who are you, nameless nobody? Get lost and stop bothering me.”

Titan completely disregarded Yaser, casually slashing at him, hoping to knock him aside. But…

Clang!

Titan’s casual attack was blocked by Yaser’s Thread and deflected to the ground.

“I’ll say it one more time! Get your dirty feet off the young lady!”

“Yaser…”

Seeing her savior come to her aid, Weirafiya could only utter his name. She couldn’t say anything more.

“Interesting, you were able to deflect my strike. Looks like you’re not some ordinary opponent. State your name; you’ve caught my interest.”

“My name is Yaser, the servant of the young lady. Let me be your opponent from now on! Release the young lady!”
