Chapter 24

“Ugh…”

I regained consciousness with a headache that felt like my head was going to split open.

My disheveled hair and the blanket wrapped around my body.

Was this suffocating feeling due to this?

I pushed aside the restricting blanket and struggled to sit up in a position leaning against the bed.

…What happened yesterday?

So, I went for a night walk.

For some reason, I felt down and had a drink.

I think I did a broadcast, but I couldn’t remember a single detail.

There was a simple way to figure this out.

I picked up my phone and logged into the community.

-Missed calls: 12

<Jiyeon>

I was about to do so.

It seemed like something did happen yesterday.

The missed calls were timestamped from this morning.

After checking the eerie texts asking me to contact them when I woke up, I couldn’t muster the courage to call and instead accessed the community.

I should first understand what happened.

<The dawn broadcast of Victory that watched the broadcast from start to finish is completely recommended> +11

<"I turned on the broadcast because I missed you mp4.> +23

<Swordsman must be a Tier 1 agent (serious, long text)> +7

<Clip compilation of the best scenes from Mollu yesterday> +10

After a joint stream with Su Ah and several broadcasts, my stories seemed to take up half of the Eo War gallery.

Rain, my manager, told me it’s also referred to as “Gajju” in casual slang.

Looking at the posted topics, there seemed to be a lot that happened even though I couldn’t recall.

What is “Mollu” again?

I looked at a post titled “Mollu clip compilation,” which seemed to refer to me.

– “Attack is the best defense, right? So, this time I’ll be the one to hit first.”

– “The trailer was the answer. I’ve gotten bigger, but the cars around me don’t dare to come at me.”

– “Where the hell are your eyes? How can you drive like that? What? Me? I’m a good driver.”

…Let’s stop looking at those.

I quickly skimmed through the clips and grasped what roughly happened yesterday.

Some memories seemed to be resurfacing.

It had been a long time since I went blank.

How weak is my body that a bottle of soju can make me lose track of things?

As I struggled to recall the events of the previous night, another post caught my eye.

<Mollu, but aren’t you going to open a YouTube channel?>

Since there were about 3 to 4 thousand live viewers, and since Su Ah appeared on YouTube, if I just uploaded some decently edited videos, the views would surely be good. Why not?

nㅇㅇ: That’s because the wrecka guys are spreading it everywhere. I’m reporting them one by one, but it doesn’t seem to be effective.

ㅇㅇ: Maybe they just don’t want to do YouTube? They’re busy just streaming.

nㅇㅇ: They don’t always stream, so what’s up with that? Haha.

ㅇㅇ: They even sent a mail saying they wanted to be Mollu’s editor, but there hasn’t been a reply. It seems like it hasn’t even been read.

YouTube.

Right, there was YouTube.

For streamers, YouTube was almost an essential course.

Who wouldn’t want money to replicate itself?

If I were to start a YouTube channel, it would mainly feature gaming videos.

For people who can’t catch the live shows or want to watch only the fun parts of the live broadcasts.

YouTube would provide them with the kind of videos they desired.

A continuation of the live broadcast, giving a somewhat lighter feel than a heavy live stream.

While my broadcast time is on the shorter side, still.

YouTube is often referred to as a pension, and not doing it is a loss.

Just from reading the posts, it was evident that people didn’t understand why I wasn’t doing YouTube.

Even with live viewers increasing and already garnering enough attention from appearing on Su Ah’s YouTube, it seemed like a situation ripe for videos.

I remember hearing about Su Ah’s YouTube…

From the very first meeting to the educational broadcasts, I had thought it was fine to edit and upload them.

I had casually said yes without much thought, having buried it in my memory until now.

And what was that about email?

Did someone apply to be an editor via email?

How did they get my email?

Email, email…

Ah.

*

On Switch, there are things that streamers are required to fill out.

Most notably, personal contact information and email, which are necessary for the company to communicate with the streamer.

Among them, emails are often listed at the bottom of the streaming screen, in the streamer’s personal feed.

Because emails are suitable for public contacts like advertisements.

When I first started broadcasting, like most streamers, I left my personal email.

Only now did I check it.

It would be appropriate to call it a Pandora’s box.

Interference that was close to saying I shouldn’t broadcast like that.

This was relatively mild.

Some included emails where they expressed a desire to meet me even just once, leaving their contact information.

Commonly referred to as “water buffalo”?

It felt even deeper than that.

I couldn’t understand why someone who only knows hands and voice would want to meet me.

Beyond that, there were numerous emails filled with malicious sexual harassment and raw criticisms about me.

“Your hands look white, I felt something from just your voice today, you filthy girl, wouldn’t it be nice living like that? Mosquito, straw…”

There was quite a variety of them.

Unlike the chats that my manager promptly deletes, emails remained intact in my inbox.

It slightly irritated me.

The more I focused on them, the more I’d end up doing what they wanted.

Ignoring those, I quickly scanned through the other emails.

As mentioned in the community, there were several emails regarding YouTube.

Emails simply asking why I wasn’t doing YouTube,

Notifications about the wrecka channel that freely edited and uploaded my broadcast videos.

And an email applying for an editor.

The editor application mail had a video they seemed to have edited attached.

– “If I do it like this, I can catch everything, right?”

My voice coming through the video felt quite awkward.

They captured my voice and dramatic gameplay in a way that didn’t feel burdensome.

It resembled the editing style often seen on popular YouTube channels.

It seemed to say, “How did this streamer named Mollu gain such charm?”

It was a clean and heartfelt edit.

This level indicated considerable skill.

I also noticed a text where they detailed their experience seemingly trying to appeal to me alongside the video.

They had edited several YouTube channels over the years, citing that the channels had grown this way.

Some channels I recognized were included, which surprised me a bit.

Someone like this applied to be my YouTube editor?

Confirming the sender of the email, I was again surprised.

Sender: Rain

The manager?

They kindly included their Switch ID, proving they were my fan with a screenshot showing the subscription date.

The date of my first broadcast.

Below that, their impressions of the first broadcast were written in detail, almost like a report.

That was a bit overwhelming.

That said, it sparked my interest.

The person currently performing the role of my broadcast manager also applied to be an editor.

They were quite a capable individual.

However, there were others who had also applied, and they also seemed to possess decent skills.

It seemed like I was getting into something big and cumbersome, but since it had come to this, I should leave at least a notice.

Knowing that quite a number of people were eager to be my editor, I couldn’t just pick anyone and report back afterwards.

As I searched for a suitable place to leave a notice, I realized I didn’t have a means to communicate with my viewers.

No matter how much I tried calling them “Gajju,” I couldn’t post a Mollu editor recruitment notice on Eo War Gallery.

Reluctantly, I had no choice but to turn on the broadcast to make the announcement.

-Mollru: Morning broadcast

This time it was really morning.

At 8 AM, just after the sun had risen.

I wondered if people would still come into the broadcast at such an hour, but,

[Morning broadcast for real ㄷㄷ]

[What is the teacher’s routine like?]

[It can’t get any more erratic than this ㅇㅇ]

“Good morning, everyone.”

I started the broadcast with a common greeting.

<Mollu can’t stand it donated 1000 won!>

-“Teacher, did you get home well yesterday? ^^”

Even from their nickname, a malicious viewer.

I responded with a tone that conveyed I knew nothing.

“Yesterday? What happened yesterday?”

[What?]

[This girl is pretending not to know, haha.]

[She must be embarrassed.]

[“I turned on the broadcast because I missed you.”]

[The memories we shared yesterday… ]

As I continued feigning ignorance, the viewers mentioning yesterday’s events seemed to grow tired.

Judging it was now a suitable time, I displayed the prepared editor recruitment notice.

Though it was just the main points I had jotted down in a note.

“I’m going to be selecting a YouTube editor, and for now, two people have applied via email. Is there anyone else who wants to apply here?”

[Me!]

[I applied!~]

[I can’t resist being a Mollu editor, haha.]

[Me me!]

[These guys probably won’t do it anyway; just trying to cause a stir.]

[What’s in it if you become an editor?]

“An editor, huh? Well, for starters, we’ll split the YouTube earnings, right?”

[Sharing something with Mollu ㅗㅜㅑ]

Viewers tend to overinterpret even the most trivial comments.

“Regarding the earnings, it’s a sensitive issue, so you’ll either have to meet with me in person to discuss it, or… If anyone wants to apply, please send it to my email.”

Applications will be accepted until tomorrow.

With that said, I ended the broadcast.

The chat filled with hooks was quite impressive.

I had broadcasted yesterday and just turned it on again to make the announcement.

Since I had finished making the announcement, I could turn it off now.

I buried myself back into the soft bed again.
