Chapter 24: Let Me Send You On Your Way
“Let her go? Sure! But in exchange, you get to be my test dummy. No problem, right? Shouldn’t be an issue since you came looking for me first.”
“Arthur! Don’t come over here—hurry and get away! This guy is extremely strong; you’re no match for him.”
Weirafiya quickly urged Arthur to retreat. How could she let Arthur fight an opponent she couldn’t even handle herself? That was basically sending him to his doom!
“But Miss, I can’t just stand by and watch you get hurt like this!”
“I’m fine! It’s not like I’m going to die; it’ll just hurt a bit. Arthur, don’t come over here! If you fight him, you will die!”
“No problem! After all, I’m a noble—even if I’m just a bit trained in swordsmanship. I won’t just easily kick the bucket! You have to trust me, Miss!”
Arthur tightly gripped his sword and charged at Titan, determined to drive him away from Weirafiya.
“Charging right at me, huh? Your courage is commendable, but it’s a pity your swordsmanship is full of holes.”
Titan looked at Arthur with disdain. A sword as dull as his couldn’t even be considered worthy of dodging—if he avoided it, that would be a disgrace. With a swift motion, he drew his sword and knocked Arthur’s away in a single strike.
“Is this what you call swordsmanship? If this cat’s paw technique is what you consider swordsmanship, then I’d say it’s an insult to the art.”
Arthur’s sword was knocked away, and without his weapon, he was no different from an ordinary human in front of Titan.
“Enough, Titan. You can hurt me all you want, but if you dare to lay a finger on Arthur, I’ll make sure to take you down with my life on the line.”
“Is that a promise? If you’re saying that, then I think I might just go ahead and do it.”
If Weirafiya hadn’t said those words, it would have been fine. But since she did, Titan was now curious to see whether she would actually risk her life to take him down.
“Ah…”
Before either of them could react, Titan plunged his sword into Arthur’s heart, leaving him feeling chill to the bone.
“Alright, now I’ve not only hurt your servant, but I’ve also killed him right in front of you. How about that? You satisfied? Think you can come at me with all your might now?”
He pulled out his sword and kicked Arthur down to the ground. Titan turned back to look at Weirafiya, who was lying there.
“Titan! You bastard!!”
Titan’s reckless behavior undoubtedly angered Weirafiya, the Phoenix, to the core.
How dare he… How dare he kill Arthur right before her eyes!
She would not let him get away with this! Absolutely not!
Fueled by rage, Weirafiya stood back up, glaring fiercely at Titan.
“What’s wrong? Weren’t you going to come at me with all your might? Why just stare at me? Hurry up and take your shot!”
Titan continued to provoke Weirafiya deliberately.
“Then, just as you wish! I’m coming for you now!”
Weirafiya spread her true phoenix wings from behind; she had no intention of continuing to fight in her human form. It was time to reveal her true self and take this guy down, even if it meant they’d both perish!
“Wait, Weirafiya! If you use your true form now, Ailin over there will be affected too.”
Seeing Weirafiya about to go berserk, Aierjisi rushed to stop her foolish actions. She could handle herself since her attributes didn’t clash with Weirafiya’s. But Ailin was different—she was water属性. If Weirafiya unleashed her true form here, the battle would undoubtedly put Ailin in dire straits.
“I don’t care! I’m going to make this guy pay for what he did to Arthur!”
Weirafiya, now utterly furious, couldn’t care less about anything else. As long as she could take down Titan, whatever happened to her companions was of no concern.
And everything happening on the battlefield was being observed by that man.
“Are you out of your mind, letting your rage control you? How foolish. The most important thing in battle is to remain calm. Letting anger control you will only worsen situations.”
As he watched Weirafiya transform in her fury, the man briefly considered interrupting her, but thought better of it. Let her make a mess for now. When they were truly cornered with no plans left, it wouldn’t be too late for him to intervene.
Driven by anger, Weirafiya revealed her true self and emitted flames of rage, even affecting Ailin, who was battling nearby—all of her ice creations melted in an instant.
“Ah… my ice…”
Seeing her ice blocks dissolve entirely in Weirafiya’s flames, Ailin was left dumbfounded.
“Hoo hoo hoo, it seems your companion is not only useless but has pushed you further into a corner. You should really **thank** your ally for this!”
Just when Freya was struggling to break through the ice blocks, good luck came unexpectedly. All those ice blocks melted away in Weirafiya’s flames, allowing her attack to finally proceed.
“Yake, let’s take a break for now! Otherwise we’ll be caught in those flames too!”
Seeing the flames creeping closer, Aierjisi anxiously urged Yake to disengage, halting the battle.
“Got it.”
Yake obediently leaped back, dodging the approaching flames.
“What do we do now, Aier?”
“Do I even need to answer that? Hurry up and stop Weirafiya! If we let her keep going like this, the whole palace will be burned to the ground!”
Aierjisi glanced around at the burning buildings. They had to stop that little phoenix quickly!
Otherwise, they might end up dead under her flames before the enemy even got to them, especially Ailin, who was most vulnerable to fire attributes.
“But how do we stop her? What are we supposed to do?”
“Don’t come asking me things like that; figure it out yourself! I didn’t make you my servant so you could pester me all day about how to do things. Use your own brain and come up with a plan!”
In truth, Aierjisi couldn’t think of a good solution either. How on earth could they stop this rampaging little phoenix…?
