Chapter 247: Grinding Dungeons and Protecting the Backline (Please Subscribe!)
Level 51 of the Dungeon.
A rare labyrinth floor in the ultra-deep levels.
The flat walls, floors, and ceilings appeared to be constructed by design, with neatly formed underground passages creating several turns and crossroads that easily disorient those who enter.
The walls, neither stone nor soil, exuded a deep graphite hue, radiating an almost visible sense of durability.
If one could break through them, perhaps valuable minerals or treasures could be unearthed, but such a feat was no easy task.
Under the glowing light of phosphorescent bulbs above, Izay and his companions engaged a group of monsters with rough, glossy black skin in a wide straight passage.
The Level 51 large-scale monster — Black Rhinos.
Even as creatures of the ultra-deep levels, these Black Rhinos possessed potential Ability Values at Level 5.
But for the five members of the team, they hardly warranted a second glance.
Perhaps the only one feeling slightly nervous might have been Refia?
“Heya! I’m going in!!”
With a shout, Tiona charged forward, freely swinging her Great Double Blade.
The two Great Swords connected by a thick handle effortlessly tore apart the Black Rhinos into pieces.
The young girl displayed an abnormal strength not typical for her slender build, skillfully wielding her custom equipment — the Ulgah Great Double Blade.
“—!”
Following closely behind Tiona, a streak of silver sword light flashed.
Ais swung the Sword of Despair, diving into the midst of the Black Rhinos.
Unlike Tiona’s wild fighting style, Ais’ method was far more aesthetically pleasing.
Suppressing enemies with her Swordsmanship and speed, she rendered the monsters powerless, weaving around her a web of silver swordlight.
At the front lines, the two continued their relentless slaughter of the Black Rhino herd, preventing any from stepping into the rear areas.
“Monsters are appearing in large numbers from the right passage, and more are coming from deeper within. Izay, can you help out with some Magic?”
In the middle ranks, Tione called out upon seeing the approaching hordes from two directions.
After all, strong as she was, she couldn’t handle both sides alone.
If Izay could deal with one direction, she’d manage the other.
At the back, Izay raised his arm toward the right passage, multiple glowing azure rings forming from his hand.
“Starfall!!”
“Hoohooohoooooommm——”
In the next moment, azure flames descended, enveloping the entire channel of monsters, piercing and burning them before erupting into a massive explosion.
After being enhanced by Skills and Development Ability, Izay’s Magic didn’t give the monsters any time to react, annihilating them instantly.
As Izay finished, the rain of flames dissipated.
Tiona, closer to the right passage, felt the impact of the magical explosion up close, nearly skewing her swing of the Great Double Blade.
Regaining control of her weapon to eliminate the remaining monsters, she glanced towards the area now dotted with scattered embers, instinctively leaning back.
—Scary!
“This kind of Magic power… Impressive as always, Izay! Thanks!”
Tione graciously thanked him before turning to handle the monsters from the other direction.
As their time spent together increased, they had gradually grown accustomed to Izay’s overpowered abilities.
Just like Ais, who merely glanced this way briefly before returning her focus elsewhere.
She already knew what the result of that Magic would be.
Despite the praise, Izay showed little excitement.
Looking at yet another wave of monsters surging from behind, he couldn’t help but feel puzzled.
“Is it always like this on Level 51? This many monsters?”
Considering the current situation, wasn’t it a bit excessive?
This was Izay’s first time entering Level 51, yet he already sensed something unusual.
It seemed as if the monsters were deliberately driven towards them from all four directions.
The scale was comparable to a “Monster Feast” or “Abnormal Proliferation,” yet different from the sudden mass spawn of monsters in a single area over a short period.
Nearby, Refia served as the team’s supporter, tilting her head after hearing Izay’s comment.
“Is that so?”
Being new to this level herself, she couldn’t judge Izay’s words accurately.
“It’s just a feeling… Refia, prepare your Magic. Choose either the front, back, or center and fire away. Let’s finish this fight quickly.”
“Yes, yes!”
For this mission, Izay didn’t want to be delayed by Cadmus Spring’s Adventurers’ Quest for too long. Returning swiftly to camp suited his intentions.
Thus, they decimated the incoming monsters with overwhelming force, combining attacks with Magic AoE spells for an extremely swift combat process.
Refia, following Izay’s instructions to prepare her Magic, hesitated only briefly about where to direct it.
Then, glancing at the rear line, she decided to ignore Izay and assist Ais and Tione instead.
After eliminating the monsters, the five swiftly gathered the Magic Stones, ignoring dropped items, and continued deeper into Level 51.
Tiona led the group, followed by Tione, Refia, Ais, and finally Izay bringing up the rear.
In a single file, they dealt with monsters along the way while following map indications toward their destination.
“The cavern where Cadmus Spring is located is just ahead. We’re probably in for a tough battle soon.”
As the wide passage began to narrow, Tione, experienced in such matters, spoke.
“Tough battle?”
“Our ultimate goal is to secure the spring water, which likely means we’ll have to fight the mighty dragon Cadmus.”
Cadmus Spring was a precious treasure of Level 51, guarded by a Treasure Guardian.
And that guardian was none other than the mighty dragon “Cadmus.”
With potential Ability Values reaching at least Upper Level 6, its Strength attribute alone surpassed even the Floor Boss Udaeros.
Such a creature stood guard over the spring round-the-clock; defeating it was the only way to retrieve the water. Attempting to sneak in would result in certain death.
This was why Tiona groaned when Finn mentioned the quest.
Facing such a beast, few Familial Groups/Factions in Orario could claim victory.
Even Loki Familia would need considerable effort.
The last time they retrieved the spring water, Tiona herself suffered serious injuries.
“Before filling our containers with spring water, we must defeat the mighty dragon to ensure safety.”
Tione mainly explained this to Izay and Refia, newcomers to such missions, while Ais and Tiona already understood the necessity.
“As for the battle plan…” Tiona turned back. “Izay, as the captain, how about you suggest something?”
Upon hearing this, Izay paused. “Uh… how about… protecting me and Refia?”
“Is that even a battle plan!?’
“Why not? Grind dungeons, protect the backline!?”
“What does that even mean?! It makes no sense!”
“I think… it works!”
Unlike Tiona filled with complaints, Ais nodded lightly in understanding.
Riviria had said they needed to protect Izay and Refia (Magical Arts specialists), and in turn, Izay and Refia would support them.
This was probably what Izay meant by protecting the backline, right?
………Riviria Mini-Theater⑪………
Riviria’s nun attire.
Though at first glance it seemed modest with no revealing parts, upon closer inspection, it carried a subtle allure.
Not only did it perfectly accentuate Riviria’s figure, but the high slit on the skirt also revealed her smooth, white thighs.
Coupled with her ponytail tied neatly at the front, it exuded a mix of purity and maturity, evoking an irresistible charm.
Could she really wear this to meet her students?
What about propriety, Riviria?
Her delicate hand pressed against the partition door; Riviria was both angry and embarrassed, wishing she could kick Loki, who was smirking beside her!
At that moment, Izay outside was confused.
“No need for that, Loki. I know it’s you inside. Why can’t we talk face-to-face? Being mysterious?”
