This was actually Dekan’s spell card used for daily life and work.
The magic cards he made were mainly divided into two types.
The first type was his mainstream cards, almost all of which were developed using demonic magic technology.
The second type was a small number of cards such as the “Hydrogen Explosion” card, which combined knowledge from his previous life with magic.
These cards were based on human magic.
Even Master couldn’t understand the critical principles of these cards, nor the mindset and purpose of their creator.
Dekan’s primary reason for creating the “Excel” card was to increase work efficiency.
During the preparation stage of making cards, calculations for proportions were often required.
Of course, he also considered that in certain situations, this card might be used to humiliate Morion.
But upon further thought,
He had just easily defeated an opponent that Morion couldn’t beat using this card.
It could definitely be considered a huge success.
“Why have I never heard of such magic…”
Altice’s head hung, her voice filled with despair.
It wasn’t just because she had lost.
It was the complete sense of defeat she felt.
Losing in a “Human Ethics” match could be blamed on Dekan and Morion being deceitful.
But losing in an objective examination that she was absolutely confident about left no room for excuses.
It was a complete and utter defeat.
What’s more,
It seemed that the little succubus had used human magic.
Making her proud domain seem downright laughable.
“You should travel more in the human world, though, of course, not everyone would master ‘Excel’.”
Dekan chuckled, shrugging as he spoke.
Then he walked around Altice twice,
“Miss Altice, if I’m not mistaken, you shouldn’t be so stunned right now. Besides fulfilling your promise, didn’t we place a small bet earlier?”
Upon hearing Dekan’s words, Altice’s pupils shrank first, then she clenched her fists and her whole body began to tremble.
After regaining her thoughts, Altice fully understood the situation.
According to the bet,
She should wear the cat ear maid outfit and dance.
“So, wait for me then.”
Then Dekan used the Demon Bracelet to purchase the bet-specific attire from the third floor.
Afterwards, he quickly went out to inform Morion and Teacher Cat of the good news, then returned via the portal to fetch the courier package.
When he got back to the study, he directly handed over the package to Altice.
“Please go ahead. I’ll turn away.”
After speaking, Dekan turned to leave the study.
“Wait!”
Altice stopped Dekan from behind.
“Hm?”
Dekan turned around to look at Altice.
Altice’s eyes were red, her expression filled with reluctance as she bit her lower lip hard.
While Dekan was out fetching the package,
Altice had become even calmer and clearer about what she was about to do.
Making her wear the cat ear maid outfit and dance.
She’d rather die!
“What? Do you intend to back out?”
Dekan furrowed his brows and asked.
He looked slightly dissatisfied,
But was actually quite pleased with Altice’s reaction.
Because,
He was looking forward to this demon’s standard operations of breaching the contract.
Thus, he could torment this untrustworthy and obstinate demon properly.
Having spent so much time understanding the demon’s bottom line and successfully deploying tactics with Morion outside the door, Dekan was certain that as long as this demon dared to renege on the deal, she would regret it.
Altice looked extremely conflicted, like she was about to make a decision.
If Altice really chose to honor her promise,
Dekan would lose interest in tormenting her.
Regardless of the enemy,
Dekan only liked toying with evildoers.
Or rather, Dekan had no interest in tormenting kind people, and harbored immense aversion towards it.
Now it seemed that Altice was going to breach the contract because she had already thrown aside the maid outfit.
“I can’t, kill me instead.”
Altice tightly shut her eyes, shook her head, her eyelashes trembling. A few crystalline tears seemed to have already overflowed from her eyes.
She hurriedly covered her face with one hand and clenched the other hand into a tight fist.
“?!”
Dekan, looking at Altice’s reaction, completely furrowed his brows.
This time, it wasn’t for show; he was genuinely baffled.
He never expected Altice to say such a thing.
Sister, you’re a demon!
Like the teachers of the Demon Academy, like the wardens and prisoners of the previous floors!
When faced with something detrimental to oneself, one should gamble and breach the contract out of self-preservation!
How could one adopt an attitude of following a promise as if it’s worth one’s life?
“Is there something wrong with your brain? Shouldn’t you be attempting to kill me now? Then, the agreement can be torn up and forgotten. You could even keep the special human outside for further study. Sound appealing, don’t you think?”
Dekan whispered repeatedly at Altice’s side like a demon.
He was tempting Altice to attack.
Simultaneously, triggering the “Three Corpse Frenzy.”
He wasn’t entirely against the possibility of Altice committing suicide.
He just wanted to see,
If Altice was truly intending to end the gambling differently, or if she had other motives.
“Wah… wah…”
Under the influence of “Three Corpse Frenzy,” Altice’s tears finally fell like a string of beads, as if she had already lost all hope for life.
There was no intention of attacking Dekan. Instead, she began to channel magic—she truly intended to self-destruct!
“I…! Morion, come and help!”
“That, my dear sister, wait! If you die, I won’t know where to go to gather intelligence. You can’t renege on the contract like this!”
Dekan quickly called Morion to cancel the “Three Corpse Frenzy” effects and shouted to stop Altice’s self-destruction.
After regaining her senses, Altice’s gaze remained somewhat vacant.
After experiencing a major defeat and realizing she couldn’t honor the commitment, she was now deeply dispirited.
As she thought more about it, she felt increasingly wronged,
“Wah… wah…”
Altice, like a fragile young girl, cried.
As if finally removing her disguise and revealing her original and genuine self.
“This… You are actually this type of character, aren’t you…”
This left Dekan stunned.
Where did that initially cold, haughty demeanor of the demon go?
At least resist a little!
This current scenario seemed to make Dekan appear like a bully, tormenting an honest and kind girl!
What would the audience think about this!
Though Dekan was no longer concerned about reputation,
But the thought of tormenting honest people himself made him look down on it.
Even Morion, who had just entered the study, looked at Dekan with disdain.
“Ah~! I give up on you, old demon!”
Dekan clutched his head and complained,
“What the heck is wrong with you? A demon has this personality? So, the way you acted before was just your hard shell and camouflage? You can’t really tell me you’re actually socially awkward, right? And have become even less social after being imprisoned, right?!”
If Dekan hadn’t truly met someone with such a character, he wouldn’t believe that there could be an eighth-rank social phobic who appeared arrogant and cold but was, in reality, weak-willed and pitiful.
“You, how do you know…”
Altice, with a pouting nose, softly answered.
“My goodness! There’s no way I can stay another second on this floor.”
Dekan felt somewhat traumatically reminded of the Ice Snow Princess.
Miss Artemis the half-elf, who had made his blood pressure skyrocket years ago, still left him bewildered on how her mind worked.
Although Dekan retaliated later,
It still felt off.
Tormenting, or even retaliating against, such a person brought no happiness at all!
Disappointment!
Utter disappointment!
Dekan was truly afraid of such beings who appeared like prey but were, in reality, poison-like to him.
Dekan pinched his brow.
He truly felt exhausted.
Now, tormenting her wasn’t an option, nor was letting her go.
She would rather die than wear the maid outfit and dance; and indeed, she would commit suicide if pressed.
Continuing to pressure her felt more like forcing virtue upon her.
“You, you’re truly a chaste and virtuous woman. I don’t even know how to compliment you, Miss Altice. Let’s just say I give up to you.”
Dekan could only shake his head in distress, raising his thumb for Altice.
He was no longer willing to waste time.
More things to be asked.
“Well, the bet…”
Altice timidly asked.
“You can let me off the hook on the information and teleportation fees. Otherwise, what else can I do? Ah, meeting you, such a demon, is truly bad luck.”
Dekan felt utterly frustrated.
He didn’t want to waste any more time, nor see Altice again.
Every time he saw her, it irritated him.
In the real world, if he had ample time,
Whoever dared to provoke him first and then let down his radar for villains,
Even if they were genuinely good people, he would leave an impression on them.
But here in the Shadow World, regardless of the time constraint, such actions were meaningless.
Dekan was most fond of the Demon Realm because it was immensely pleasurable to torment these demons.
He didn’t even need to switch on his villain radar.
Just picking someone to torment was enough.
The more heinous the villain, the more enjoyable it was for Dekan to play with them.
But how could there be a demon like Altice in the Demon Realm!
Dekan: “Hurry up, give me the info, then send us for free to the next level.”
Altice: “Hmm, the next level is the Exile Zone. The Warden has eighth-rank strength but is highly restricted.”
Dekan: “What about the Warden’s intelligence?”
Altice: “The Warden not only excels in magic but also in close combat. Even among the ninth-rank, they are considered one of the strongest in overall strength.”
“How to deal with this…”
Dekan felt the Warden would be even more difficult to tackle.
Originally, the Warden had resistance to magic spells.
If the Warden was just a mage with little physical strength, it would be fine.
But if it was a magic-immune warrior unaffected by magic effects,
Dekan truly believed this boss would be tough.
It would be hard to manipulate psychologically.
Looks like studying the mechanisms via intelligence was the way to go.
After roughly asking Altice for all the information she knew, Dekan didn’t even wish to interact with her anymore.
This pedantic demon refused to tell him more special intelligence unless it was part of the trade.
She only knew what was disclosed.
Of course, there was also the possibility that she genuinely didn’t know.
Though this demon’s bad temper had initially made Dekan detest her,
When she truly revealed no animosity, Dekan realized that this demon was pure-hearted, making it impossible to derive any pleasure from persecuting her.
“Do you really consider yourself a demon?”
Dekan asked with disdain.
He even slightly suspected that Altice might actually be a human masquerading as a demon.
Based on Dekan’s understanding of the Demon Race, though they looked similar to humans, they were entirely different species.
They could not grasp the concept of malevolence, nor feel guilt or remorse. Any behavior that resembled humans was merely mimicry and an act to deceive humans.
Therefore, Dekan would never trust any demon.
Except for Master.
This Altice had previously acted human-like.
But now this readiness to pay with her life, showing such dignified pride, was like a saint.
This was not the nature of the Demon Race.
Upon hearing Dekan’s question, Altice was startled first, then timidly lowered her head.
“…I am a half-demon, my mother was human.”
She stammered, as if referring to a secret she was unwilling to mention to any demon.
Dekan cupped his forehead.
No wonder this person was so human-like.
“So you were sent here by the Demon King to serve as a Warden, but also to confine you?”
According to Dekan’s understanding, no Warden of each level could leave their post without the Demon King’s personal approval.
While gaining this authority, they were also bound to this Demon Realm Prison.
Not only could they not leave, even traveling to other levels was impossible.
“Yes.”
Altice nodded in acknowledgment.
Dekan finally understood.
This level could even be regarded as Altice’s solitary confinement.
The Demon King was wary of her defection but also valued her knowledge.
That’s why the rules were so strict on the prison guards, but lenient on the Warden.
It was a kind of protection for the Warden.
As Altice was indifferent to killing humans or demons, imposing restrictions as on other levels made no sense.
However, if there were not enough restrictions on the guards, the kind Altice might get bullied by them.
“Could anyone else overhear what we are saying here?”
Dekan decided to make one last attempt to gain more help from Altice and asked.
“The Warden cannot detect my study. This is a laboratory that the Demon King specially permitted me to use.”
Though Altice did not understand Dekan’s intention, she replied anyway.
“To cut to the chase, do you consider yourself a human or a demon?”
Dekan’s expression turned exceptionally serious, his eyes sharp and piercing.
