249 Dekan’s Rogue Radar
Just as Ilene was completely stunned.
Cornelia, who was by her side, had already vanished.
Cornelia was the first to dash out.
She skillfully stepped across the spaces between the spikes of earth.
She avoided the warden who was puzzlingly circling around the spikes.
As if all the clamorous dangerous scenes were just a backdrop of another dimension irrelevant to her.
She ran straight towards Dekan.
And Dekan had noticed her, waving and smiling at her.
Although Dekan’s appearance had changed at this point.
Cornelia was very familiar with Dekan’s current appearance.
She had seen Tarta.
But even if she hadn’t seen Tarta, it wouldn’t matter.
Even if Dekan’s hair and eye color had changed, or even if his appearance had transformed into something else, it didn’t matter.
As soon as their eyes met, Cornelia was sure she could recognize Dekan.
Within a few seconds, Cornelia was by Dekan’s side.
“You came for me.”
“Yeah, sorry for being a bit late. Have you eaten? I can help you order takeout.”
As Dekan was speaking, he handed the cotton jacket over his arm to Cornelia.
He had bought three before coming to this level.
Cornelia shook her head and gratefully put on the cotton jacket.
“I can withstand the cold, and there’s food supply on this level.”
Cornelia said.
Dekan nodded in relief.
“After I finish playing with Morion, I’ll recommend an amazing Demon Realm restaurant delivery service to you.”
As Dekan continued to play catch with Morion using the warden, he spoke to Cornelia beside him.
“Okay.”
Cornelia nodded.
A restaurant that Dekan praised so highly wouldn’t be bad.
The last time he praised something so highly was Bachelor’s Cooking Classroom.
Cornelia had also missed Bachelor’s cooking all along.
Now that she has come all the way to the Demon Realm, Cornelia looked forward to enjoying a meal of Demon Realm cuisine.
Cornelia suddenly remembered something.
She quickly told Dekan:
“That’s right, after I arrived on this level, I encountered a prisoner also confined here. There are still survivors…”
Cornelia quickly began conveying the key information she had gathered since her arrival to Dekan.
Dekan was multitasking, playing with the warden while receiving information from Cornelia.
In the distance.
Ilene had overheard Dekan’s conversation.
She felt even more uneasy.
How could this oppressive prison feel like a picnic for them?
She also felt relieved that she hadn’t acted against the red-haired girl.
Leaving aside those two strange beings for now.
The fact that this red-haired girl could blend so naturally into that strange group proved she was certainly not ordinary.
Attempting an ambush would likely result in her being countered and killed.
Ilene could no longer determine who among these three was the prison guard.
But reasonably speaking,
Besides herself, there should only be one other guard on this level.
It was impossible for a prison guard to become such close companions with humans.
So, these three probably aren’t prison guards either!
They must be superhumans strong enough to be imprisoned on this level!
And if they aren’t the guards,
Then there should be other guards around here somewhere…
Could there be another guard in the camp with even better acting skills, one who even deceived her?
Ilene’s mind was racing with theories.
But for the moment, she couldn’t find an answer.
She reached only one conclusion.
She mustn’t expose her true demon identity in front of these three.
Or it would certainly end badly for her!
Thus, Ilene chose to stay still and waited patiently while maintaining her pretense, continuing to act the part of a stunned human.
Upon further contemplation, she realized that what humans and demons would react to in this situation might be similar.
After more than ten minutes.
With Faceless Ignar’s final roar of frustration,
These two psychopaths had slowly and cruelly tortured Faceless Ignar to death.
Ilene saw the gray-haired girl grinning, patting the chestnut-haired youth’s shoulder, and expressing admiration.
Clearly, the gray-haired girl was genuinely delighted; she had played her part to the fullest.
Then, they seemed to have discussed ordering takeout, and finally, they headed toward Ilene.
As the trio approached Ilene, Dekan thanked her with great sincerity first.
“Thank you for helping Cornelia, I will definitely repay you.”
Ilene appeared to finally snap out of her daze, her gaze focused on Dekan, then looked at Cornelia.
She still seemed unable to believe that the warden had been killed like it was all a dream.
“Cornelia had also helped us, we didn’t expect she had companions imprisoned here too. You guys are truly incredibly powerful.”
Ilene deeply bowed her head toward the trio, her voice filled with bitterness and excitement.
“Don’t worry, as long as we’re here, any wardens who come afterward will surely not return.”
Dekan said with complete confidence.
Seeing Dekan’s attitude, Ilene finally felt at ease.
This gray-haired girl was undoubtedly the leader of the trio.
Previously, Cornelia had objectively informed this gray-haired girl about the details of this level.
The gray-haired girl would surely not have any doubts about Ilene’s identity and would even have a good impression of her.
In that case, the next step would be smooth sailing.
Once they settle down, she could find the opportunity to run to the sixth level!
Even though she wouldn’t be able to witness her perfect plan come into play.
Preserving her life was more important than anything else.
And the thought of the chaos this level would fall into after she “disappears” at the sixth level, the insane suspicions and the unknown prison guard still on this level leading to inevitable self-destruction among them, was not bad at all!
“I would like to learn more about the intelligence on this level, such as how many survivors are left, and I also want to know if any of them are comrades I know.”
Dekan said to Ilene.
“Then let’s go back to the camp; all the survivors on this level are there.”
Ilene nodded.
Her uneasy heart was finally completely at ease.
Everything was going extraordinarily smoothly.
They didn’t make any troublesome requests.
All she had to do was take them back, and she would have plenty of chances to escape.
But upon further contemplation, these three, while terrifying, adhered to reason after all.
Her flawless acting had fooled the prisoners she had lived with for so long.
With Cornelia testifying on her behalf, there was no way she could raise their suspicions.
Just as Ilene turned around, preparing to lead the trio back to the camp,
“Hey, acting was hard for you, wasn’t it?”
A teasing and faintly pleasant voice sounded behind Ilene, sending a chill straight through her brain!
