Chapter 25

m*rder. The horrifying sensation of killing a sentient being with my own hands. But even so, it didn’t fill me with an unbearable amount of guilt. It was the wolf that tried to k*ll me, after all. Still, its convulsing body bleeding out looked like something out of a nightmare.

“Kkekeke~ Here, take your hand back~”

“You insane wench!!!”

Elise’s playful voice rang out from the side. In her hand, the one-eyed wolf’s bright red bl**d dripped as she held up a severed hand. The one-eyed wolf clutched its wound in agony.

Looks like this will be wrapping up soon.

Ariel skillfully mopped up the remaining forces. Her waterdrop bullets effortlessly drilled through the wolves’ heads, creating neat wind-tunnels, while enemies who got too close were skewered by tridents she conjured.

The wolves’ momentum was clearly waning. But their boss remained unfazed. At some point, he’d set up a table adorned with a tablecloth. Seated before it, he prepared to enjoy his feast, leisurely observing a pig with one arm missing and an apple still clenched in its mouth.

That guy’s no pushover either.

“Urburburk! Uuurburburk!!!!”

The pig thrashed about, desperate to live, but the stakes pinning its hands and feet only caused its wounds to widen with every movement, increasing its suffering.

“Hm~ Where should I start?”

The wolf boss retrieved his fork and kn*fe, making soft slicing sounds as the blade danced over the pig’s left thigh. With each thrust, the blade tore through its tender skin and poor muscles, carving off delicate chunks of flesh. The pig’s pupils dilated in terror.

The more the pig writhed in pain, the more bl**d splattered from its wounds. Satisfied with the terrified expression on the pig’s face, the wolf picked up the neatly cut piece of meat with his fork and popped it into his mouth.

The way he chewed slowly with his eyes closed, savoring the taste, sent shivers down my spine.

To think I could’ve ended up being eaten alive like this… Disassembled piece by piece with fork and kn*fe. The thought made my hairs stand on end imagining what could’ve happened if I’d been captured.

But how can he stay so calm? Elise is dominating, and the wolves are hesitant to attack, keeping their distance from Ariel. Yet this wolf acts like it’s nothing, fully focused on his gastronomic pleasure.

The tablecloth soaked with the pig’s bl**d. Despite having most of its thigh torn off, revealing the bone, the pig somehow clung to consciousness, its face a mess of tears and snot.

“Mmm~ This thigh meat is surprisingly tender. The quality is good. Now for the delicacy… which is…”

The wolf gently traced the pig’s belly with his kn*fe. The pig flinched at every cold touch, trembling as the blade continued downward, stopping between its legs.

“Here it is.”

Whoa. That’s disgusting, terrifying, and embarrassing all at once. Does he really consider that a delicacy?

Realizing the kn*fe tip had reached its precious area, the pig cried out, pleading for mercy with desperate eyes.

“Eeep!!! Urburburk!!! Wwurburb!!!”

Those begging eyes only made the wolf drool.

“Haa~ I love that look. That powerless feeling, knowing your life depends entirely on my decisions, despairing and begging for mercy… It’s quite the appetizer!”

“Eeeeeeep!!!”

“Haa, shall we see how it tastes? Let me cut it nice and slow for you. You can look forward to it.”

The pig went berserk, crying and screaming, trying desperately to stop the wolf’s cruel act. But there was nothing it could do. As the wolf applied pressure to the kn*fe, beads of bl**d formed on the surface.

“Eeeeeek!!!!”

Clang!!!

The kn*fe flew through the air, sparkling in the sunlight before clattering to the ground. The wolf glanced briefly at the fallen kn*fe then turned his gaze to me.

“Interrupting my meal like this, what do you think you’re doing?”

“Huff, huff. Even so, I don’t want to witness that kind of mutilation right in front of me! As a fellow man!”

I panted heavily. Though I cared little for the pig being eaten alive, I definitely didn’t want to see it castrated right before my eyes.

Relieved to find its precious parts intact, the pig let out a sigh of relief, lowering its head weakly.

The wolf licked his lips then gently placed his fork on the bl**d-soaked tablecloth.

“If you’d just wait quietly, your turn would come eventually.”

Clatter!

Something rolled loudly across the tablecloth and stopped after hitting the pig’s belly fat.

“Aaaah…”

I gasped in horror at the sight of the one-eyed wolf’s head resting on the table. Elis approached with graceful steps, her clothes stained with bl**d. Smiling sweetly, she spoke to the wolf boss.

“Greedy wolf, we’re going to roast the pig, why don’t you crack open your underling’s skull and eat his brains instead?”

“…Hmm. I decline. Fellow wolves don’t taste good.”

So he’s eaten his own kind before? Completely insane. Judging by his behavior, this wolf boss seems to eat anything that moves. He locked eyes with me.

“Boy, do you know what I hate most in this world?”

“No, I don’t.”

“It’s when people interrupt my meals.”

With a snap of his fingers, two shadows darted out from behind him. One lunged at Elis while the other charged straight at me.

Paralyzed by the sudden situation, I could only watch helplessly as the shadow bore down on me without blinking.

Suddenly, a massive water pillar erupted in front of me. Ariel appeared, having abandoned her fight with the wolf minions to block the attack.

[How dare you threaten our prince!! Elis, why aren’t you protecting our prince!?]

“Kekekeke, keep surprising me with these unexpected tricks?”

Elis blocked the clawed sword attack of a werewolf with her staff while speaking. Our attacker turned out to be a pitch-black wolf. Their appearance perfectly suited an assassin, blending seamlessly into the darkness.

The wolf boss rose from his seat and began walking toward us slowly.

“You deal with the women. I’ll play with this scrawny boy.”

“Yes sir.”

With a simple reply, the black wolves launched relentless attacks on Ariel and Elis, pushing them further away from me.

[cr*p! Prince! It’s dangerous! Run!]

“Kekekeke, looks like I’m popular today.”

“I don’t want this kind of popularity.”

I took a step back. The size difference between me and the wolf was like that of an adult and a child. Looking at the wolf approaching with murderous intent, I realized clearly:

There’s no way I can win against him.

The wolf boss bared his fangs, crouching low and preparing to leap.

“So~ Boy. Do you know what my favorite game is?”

“I, I don’t. Can we just skip this part?”

“It’s… Tag!!!”

The wolf charged at me like a rabid beast, eyes wild. I screamed and ran for my life.

“Aaaaah!! Get away!!!”

“Kekekekeke! Do you really think you can escape with such slow running skills!”

Running easily alongside me, the mad wolf drooled openly. He could easily catch and devour me if he wanted, but deliberately held back, clearly enjoying the game of tag.

“Alright then, let’s start with one of your hands!”

Thud! The wolf’s teeth snapped where my hand had been a second ago. I hastily pulled back, barely avoiding his bite. But he kept lunging with his jaws, trying to snatch my hand. Fed up, I swung my scythe wildly.

Whoosh!

As expected, my clumsy attack missed completely. However, it created enough distance between us, allowing me to retreat quickly into the mother pig’s house after returning the scythe to ring form.

“Haa, haa, haa.”

Clutching my chest from the rapid heartbeat, I searched desperately for a hiding spot. Running wouldn’t get me far; I needed to buy time until the girls finished dealing with the black wolves and came to rescue me.

The interior of the house was filled with broken furniture debris, offering no proper hiding places. Eventually, I retreated into the kitchen.

Where can I hide? Dammit, there’s nowhere to hide!

Around me were boiling pots of hot water and various cooking utensils. The ceiling storage was too narrow for my body, while the lower cabinets would be too easy to find.

Thud thud.

The sound of the wolf’s approaching footsteps echoed in my ears.

“Ah~ Hide and seek! Another game I absolutely adore! Looks like we have great chemistry!”
