Chapter 25: How to Unlock the Seal
Aierjisi originally thought that the owners of the four restaurants were fellow travelers from Earth, just like her and the City Lord. However, when she brought up Earth in their conversations, the restaurant owners looked utterly confused. It seemed they were not Earthlings after all.
The Little Princess had no choice but to head to the City Lord’s Mansion to ask him what was going on. How could these four restaurants have names from Earth, yet none of their owners were Earthlings?
“Is this why you came to bother me?”
The City Lord sipped his red tea, eyeing the Little Princess sitting across from him. This little princess was really too idle to come to him with such trivial concerns.
“I just want to know how they came up with those names! Was this your doing?”
“Well, you’re spot on! I did help them come up with their names. And believe it or not, the stuff they sell is quite similar to what you’ve got on Earth. I assume you’ve tasted it already. Their expressions when they first tried it were just as priceless as yours is now, hahahaha!”
Recalling that moment, the City Lord couldn’t help but burst into laughter at the memory of that little Phoenix’s expression, which was identical to the Little Princess’s now.
“Well, there’s no helping it. I mean, if any Earthling saw those restaurant names, they would definitely react.”
Aierjisi shot a dissatisfied glance at the City Lord, feeling like he was toying with her.
“No worries, no worries! As the saying goes, ‘A fall into a pit, a gain in your wit.’ After this experience, you should be less likely to fall for similar traps again.”
“Thanks a lot for setting up such a trap for me to learn my lesson. Forget it; I should head back. Yake is probably still waiting for me at the inn.”
“By the way, what’s your relationship with Mr. Yake? I saw you both entered the city together yesterday and today, you were feeding each other at the Dessert House. Are you two a couple?”
“How do you know what happened at the Dessert House today? Did Yin tell you?”
“Please! Do you really think I need Yin to spill the gossip around the city? My informants are everywhere! If I wanted to, I could even tell you what color of underwear you wore today.”
“I see… This guy is a lot more dangerous than I thought.”
With that, the Little Princess covered her skirt, realizing she might need to shop for some safety shorts.
“Don’t worry, I’m not interested in your kind of *ahem*. Your… assets hold zero temptation for me.”
As they were talking, the City Lord even pulled a Maid into his embrace. The sight was enough to make one nauseous. It was only thanks to her being an artificial human that she could bear being hugged and groped by such an old creep.
However, being mocked as ‘flat-chested’ really rubbed Aierjisi the wrong way!
“Looks like I’m saved by my figure then. It’s fine you’re not interested in me. I’ll just take my leave and let you enjoy your artificial human here.”
“Ah, wait a second.”
Seeing the Little Princess actually getting ready to leave, the City Lord quickly called out to her.
“Is there something else?”
“It’s not super important, but I feel like there are some unsavory characters popping up in our city lately.”
“Unsavory characters? You mean those thieves?”
“Come on, those petty thieves don’t interest me at all. I feel like some pests have their eyes on my city. And they’re gearing up to cause some trouble here. You might want to be cautious, as they may have you in their sights.”
“Understood. Thanks for the warning; I’ll keep it in mind.”
Hearing the City Lord mention that some were planning to stir up trouble made Aierjisi a bit anxious. After all, she was currently being pursued by that group of Adrian People. If they really followed her to this city, it would be a huge headache.
“Ugh… these guys are really something. They’re like crazy fans, chasing me around like this. Oh wait, aren’t they actually a bunch of obsessed fans? Maybe next time I’ll just give them an autograph?”
Sighing about her miserable life in this other world where she couldn’t even live like a lazy bum, Aierjisi returned to the Hot Spring Inn to find Yake sprawled on the bed, taking a nap.
“Yake? Yake?”
She tentatively called out to him twice, but got no response. It seemed he was really fast asleep, and deeply so.
Seriously, even while being chased, he could sleep like this? What an odd guy…
“Maybe I should nap a bit too. I’m feeling a little drowsy myself.”
Yawn! Aierjisi lay back on her bed, hoping for a cozy afternoon nap.
【Maybe I should sneak into Yake’s bed? I’m curious about how he’ll react when he wakes up to find me snuggled in his blanket.】
Saying it, she did it. Aierjisi climbed right into Yake’s bed, also curious about his physique — whether it was up to par. If he looked too frail, she might need to put him on a muscle workout plan.
“Mhm. His muscles are decently firm! Seems like this guy actually takes care to work out.”
Feeling Yake’s abs and biceps, Aierjisi could gauge his muscle tone just by touch. At this level, he was just barely passable.
But if they were going to fight those Ultimate Life Forms, it would definitely not be enough. She had to think of ways to enhance Yake’s combat strength. She needed to work on raising her own power too.
“And how did I manage to unleash that power back then?”

Recalling what Misty told her about the pendant as she was sealing away her powers, Aierjisi grasped the pendant she had been wearing all along.
If her hunch was correct, this pendant must harbor some immensely powerful force; but to unlock it, she’d need the right key.
The question remained: What was that key, and how could she unlock the powers of this seal?
