Chapter 252

Chapter 252: Ancient Tower.

Faced with the tail-hammering dragon descending like a meteor, Jiē Jié chose to ascend in height.

Such true-to-form ultimate moves can only be admired, not brute-forced.

“Boom!”

The tail-hammering dragon’s smashing tail created a deep crater, cracks spreading menacingly across the ground. No matter how strong an ecological niche monster may have, it’d end up with its bones cracked.

But—

Missed!

You might be impressive leaping into the sky by stepping on your own feet, but my fire-explosion lock on your head is far better.

Another fiery blast shot from Jiē Jié’s mouth, his rapid flight speed hitting the panting tail-hammering dragon’s skull, blowing off another horn.

Now unsteady, the tail-hammering dragon collapsed onto the ground, purple-red poison-blood flowing from the wounds.

The flying spiny dragon stomped down hard, pinning the tail-hammering dragon and preventing it from rising again.

Realizing it couldn’t escape, the tail-hammering dragon attempted flight but lost its chance.

Nothing beats the significance of simply pinning your opponent down.

You might be amazing flying like a helicopter by stepping on your own feet, but you can’t withstand my basic attack combined with fire-explosion lock!

“Hmph~”

Flashes of flame glimmered in Jiē Jié’s mouth, followed by a more powerful close-range explosion that instantly blacked out the tail-hammering dragon’s vision.

The surrounding area, already widened by the “dragon tornado destroying parking lots,” now witnessed the spiny dragon’s body glowing with dark blue ghost flames as its limbs elongated.

Behind the ghost flames, a white ultra-large monster descended upon the old continent.

Compared to when he was in the new continent, Jiē Jié felt noticeable discomfort, perhaps due to insufficient earth pulse energy here.

Transformed into a Míng Dēng Lóng with larger and more flexible claws, the tail-hammering dragon before him became nothing more than convenient food.

Lifting himself up, sitting on the ground, the tail-hammering dragon corpse lay directly in front of him, claw after claw piercing through scales and thick skin, tearing out strip after strip of meat, lowering his head to devour each piece.

After peeling off the tough hide, Jiē Jié buried half his head into the tail-hammering dragon’s hump, savoring the most nutritious and energetic part.

His white body gleamed with more phantom lights in delight, standing out prominently under the night sky.

As for the pressure marks left on the ground by his massive weight, Jiē Jié had no intention of cleaning them up—let the hunters ponder over it.

When visibility increased at dawn, Jiē Jié flew into the sky to climb higher, intending to determine the terrain around the edge of the tree sea.

But just as he ascended, he froze.

Because to the north of the tree sea stood a towering ancient tower impossible to ignore.

Ancient Tower.

Even from a great distance, it still appeared within his sight. The size and antiquity of the tower were beyond comprehension.

That tower exuded some kind of magic, pulling him toward it for investigation.

Even in games, the ancient tower was indeed a place worth exploring, with many powerful monsters gathered in the ruins surrounding it.

Should he fly directly toward the ancient tower?

Not now.

Jiē Jié descended from the air as if letting out a sigh, reverting from Míng Dēng Lóng form back to spiny dragon form, beginning to gorge himself wildly to calm his surging emotions.

For these days, he dominated this territory in spiny dragon form, occasionally checking on the two investigators stationed there.

Until the compiler and hunter traveled upstream along the river, finally discovering the spiny dragon beside the tail-hammering dragon carcass—an old acquaintance from the new continent.

Through its patterns, the compiler was certain it was the same one they encountered on the coast of the new continent.

“Heavens, no wonder we haven’t seen it in the new continent since then—it must have flown straight back to the original continent?”

The compiler marveled.

“I even feel like maybe we never left the new continent and just circled around at sea to reach an unexplored part.”

“If compasses and our experiences could lie, it wouldn’t be impossible.”

Hearing the hunter’s words, the compiler pulled out a compass, combining experience to judge their current location.

“We are in the eastern forest of the original continent; this much is certain.”

He confidently assured, carefully avoiding the spiny dragon and continuing northward.

“Speaking of which, judging from the skeletal structure of the tail, the monsters it hunted were tail-hammering dragons. Alas, the humps of tail-hammering dragons are rare delicacies, indeed.”

“Don’t look at me; without proper preparation and guild support, I can’t take down a tail-hammering dragon myself, let alone violate regulations.”

After walking a good distance, the two began chatting aloud.

After they left, the resting spiny dragon transformed into a flying bird, trailing after the two who had fired signal flares and waited on-site for a day.

“Even using the highest-grade signal flare, nearby guild hunters should have had ample time to find us.”

The compiler frowned, sensing something odd, opening his compass and map, looking at the stars to repeatedly verify.

His finger traced the eastern part of the original continent on the map, crossing the ocean to another landmass further east.

A special note marked the existence of the ancient tower, known as the Fēnglóng region.

“This tree is tall enough; I’ll climb it to check.”

The hunter shook his head watching the compiler’s actions, climbing the tree and advancing through winding branches, breaking through the tree sea’s dome with dual blades.

The northern ancient giant tower reflected in his pupils.

“Damn it, the north is the ancient tower! We need to return and take a ship to the west coast of the sea.”

The hunter jumped and landed between trees, shouting to the compiler mid-leap.

“Did you really see the tower?”

“One hundred percent sure.”

Thus, under Jiē Jié’s confused gaze, they retraced their steps along the stream, moving rather quickly.

He had also glimpsed the compiler’s map, roughly understanding why they were heading back—their landing point was terribly wrong.

He trailed slowly behind them, ensuring both individuals and a large energy source flying south remained within his perception.

If it were a regular flying dragon, he wouldn’t have cared, but the outline of that energy source was familiar to Jiē Jié.

It was a spiny dragon, the true ruler of this tree sea.

It had been drawn to the ancient tower but returned because the prime real estate was too noisy.

After a hunt and a nap, it saw another similar creature covered in anger-patterns roaring fiercely in front of it.

The sound was incredibly loud.

Just from this highly impactful voice, the spiny dragon felt an immense threat towards itself.

“Roar!”

The spiny dragon responded with a roar, golden eyes flashing with anger, blood filling its shell, revealing intimidating red light.

Jiē Jié lowered his head, withstanding the roar and pushing the opponent backward with a collision.
