Chapter 258: The Great Sea Dragon.
Before his eyes stood a monstrosity with a body like that of a whale, its nearly sixty-meter length surpassing the Míng Dēng Lóng and Glittering Dragon seen in the New Continent.
Upon his head sprouted enormous horns akin to those of a bull, yet they were asymmetrical; the right horn was excessively developed, even to the point of obstructing his line of sight.
Under his chin grew thick, hard fur, within which lived light algae, the source of that faint phantom light. Moreover, his chest and abdomen shimmered with white brilliance.
On either side, he bore only one pair of fins, his figure slim and long, stirring the seawater into ceaseless rolling merely by moving.
The super-large Ancient Dragon known as the Great Sea Dragon had also detected an unusual gleam unlike his own, raising his overly long right horn and charging towards it.
Jié Jié gathered in his wings and flapped upwards, leaping like a jellyfish to dodge the Great Sea Dragon’s impact, then neutralized the water flow thrust at him through his mastery over water currents.
“Whoosh~”
The seemingly harmless tail used for swimming by the Great Sea Dragon swiped through the water, striking the unprepared Abyssal Wave Dragon, treating him to what felt like a manta ray encountering an orca, tumbling several times before regaining stability.
And now, the Great Sea Dragon’s tail and undulating body worked in perfect harmony, flipping smoothly to charge once more with his right horn.
Gathering in his wings again for another jellyfish-like jump, Jié Jié’s body began to flicker with electric light.
In the sea, releasing attribute electricity capable of evaporating water wasn’t very effective, but ordinary discharging of electricity was powerful enough.
The Abyssal Wave Dragon leaped like a jellyfish, and upon landing, electric sparks emanated from the ends of his limbs, spreading outwards.
This electric spark tore through the protective water barrier naturally formed by the Great Sea Dragon’s movement, piercing into his armored skin and exploding.
The Great Sea Dragon opened his massive mouth and emitted a silent roar, his uneven armor swiftly passing before Jié Jié’s eyes as he instantly readjusted his posture.
Unlike before, the white spots on the Great Sea Dragon’s chest and abdomen turned red, indicating he had entered an excited state.
He began to breathe in, creating a visible tsunami vortex in front of him. Following this, from his mouth emerged a high-pressure water cannon of immense thickness.
Compared to this water cannon, the powerful water jet that the Abyssal Wave Dragon could spew was like a mere toothpick.
Jié Jié was pushed back nearly a hundred meters by the water cannon, suffering no severe damage in the water flow. Meanwhile, the Great Sea Dragon himself sank to the seabed due to the recoil force generated by the water cannon, watching him and waiting for his decision.
To leave, or continue the fight?
He chose to emit resonance.
You shouldn’t move around so much; let me help you break off that horn obstructing your vision.
The Great Sea Dragon swayed his body in the sea, seemingly pondering.
His response to Jié Jié was to crash into him to break the horn, implying combat. He believed mutual collisions between two dragons were more efficient.
“Pfft, if you want to fight, go ahead. If you place your head on the ground, I could break your horn in two strokes.”
The deep sea possessed tremendous resistance, and his insufficient size meant the impact force would be diluted by this resistance and hindered by the shockwave produced when the Great Sea Dragon collided.
This meant his ability to damage the horn was limited, and he would likely be thrown back during the counterattack.
Faced with Jié Jié’s new proposal, the Great Sea Dragon refused; beaching himself on land was dangerous for him.
The communication achieved through resonance was limited. The Great Sea Dragon acted like a non-intelligent NPC with only two options: fight him until his horn broke or leave without disturbing him.
Perhaps exchanges among Ancient Dragons were roughly like this. Unable to harmonize made communication meaningless, they still preferred the most scientific method of exchange.
Physics, simple and efficient.
Only through battle.
The Abyssal Wave Dragon’s body swelled, a vast dark curtain unfurling in the ocean.
The Míng Dēng Lóng quickly adapted to the underwater environment, stabilizing his stance, transforming into his current form solely for one purpose.
A blue beam pierced through the dim depths, ignoring the resistance of the deep sea and instantly filling the Great Sea Dragon’s field of vision with azure light.
The beam struck the Great Sea Dragon’s head, causing a series of explosions along his horn.
The Great Sea Dragon emitted a low groan, his massive body tipping backward, lying supine on the ruins of the seabed.
The great dark curtain flapped, the glow of the nether fire flickering in the deep sea. As the Míng Dēng Lóng shrunk during his charge, Jié Jié transformed back into the Abyssal Wave Dragon and rushed toward the Great Sea Dragon.
Electric sparks flashing across his limbs streaked past his body, forcefully tapping his head, causing fragments of debris to explode off the horn.
Though the sturdy horn hadn’t broken yet, the Great Sea Dragon, rendered listless by a single blow, cooperated fully, his brain tingling under the continuous electric shocks.
Finally recovering from his dizziness, the Great Sea Dragon saw the Abyssal Wave Dragon was still the Abyssal Wave Dragon; the colossal white monster and the blue beam from earlier seemed like illusions.
The pain in his head left him no time to think. With a slap of his tail, he triggered vibrations among the seabed ruins, leaving the seabed behind and twisting his body to collide with the Abyssal Wave Dragon.
He was getting dizzy from the fight—time to pause—
But Jié Jié didn’t care, alternately flapping his wings left and right like ripples, using this momentum to flip out of the Great Sea Dragon’s attack range, slapping him on the head again.
The Great Sea Dragon flipped his body, hitting the Abyssal Wave Dragon with his fin. A single slap from the super-large Ancient Dragon sent Jié Jié flying again.
His repelling capability was maxed out, but the damage inflicted was extremely limited.
The Great Sea Dragon dealt area damage to him, while he dealt precise point damage to the Great Sea Dragon, making the Great Sea Dragon’s reaction far more intense than his own.
Seeing the Great Sea Dragon start inhaling at a distance, Jié Jié’s body began swelling again.
The azure destructive laser directly pierced through the high-pressure water bubble, exploding into the Great Sea Dragon’s mouth.
Once again, the Great Sea Dragon’s massive body crashed onto the seabed ruins, sending up clouds of dust and shattered stones.
Jié Jié transformed back into the Abyssal Wave Dragon and swam towards the Great Sea Dragon.
The Abyssal Wave Dragon could breathe through gills, enjoying convenience underwater, whereas the Míng Dēng Lóng only needed to occasionally emerge to unleash a beam.
Looking at the Great Sea Dragon who had been directly knocked down, Jié Jié doubted whether the beam might have directly penetrated his nervous center through the mouth, killing him outright.
If so, he would have to regretfully lick the corpse.
However, the light on the Great Sea Dragon’s body did not fade but became increasingly red.
The Great Sea Dragon thrashed his body against the seabed, ejecting himself upward and charging towards Jié Jié.
As they fought, he got heated up, unable to keep up.
Jié Jié wanted to evade as usual with a jellyfish jump, but the Great Sea Dragon’s massive body rapidly flipped, his huge tail raised high, heavily sweeping down towards him.
Alright, now it was his turn to get smashed into the seabed.
But why were there two hard things poking his back? They hurt!

When you see a mighty male fire dragon soaring through the sky, you can't confidently say it’s truly a fire dragon—because it might have been a rare silver fire dragon before you noticed it.
If you suspect it was a silver fire dragon, it could have been a spinosaurus even earlier.
When someone tells you it was once a spinosaurus, you still can’t be sure—because before others saw it, it might have been an elder extinction dragon.
You may feel certain it’s a flying dragon by now, yet you can't assert that either—because underground where you can't see, it might actually be an ancient mountain dragon.
So, what is it really?
In the beginning,
It was just a hairy spider.
