Chapter 26: Smelly Woman, Get Lost!
“Ahh, that afternoon nap was so comfy…”
Yake stretched lazily, reminiscing about the last time he’d had such a cozy snooze.
“Eh? Aier? When did you crawl into my bed?”
Yake was about to get up to use the bathroom when he discovered that the Little Princess had somehow burrowed into his blankets and was hugging him while sleeping.
And worse yet, it appeared she was sleeping completely naked, just clutching him in her sleep!
“Ah!”
Upon realizing this, Yake let out a shriek, successfully waking the still-dreaming Little Princess.
“Eh? Yake, you’re awake? What’s wrong? Why are you yelling so loudly?”
Rubbing her eyes, the Little Princess stared at Yake, bewildered by his loud outburst.
“Because come on, anyone who wakes up next to a naked girl hugging them would scream, right?”
“Mm-hmm. What? Is it because my body is not your type? Are you more into mature women?”
“No, no! It just caught me off guard… I mean, just a few days ago, you treated me like a lowly servant, and now you’re suddenly sleeping naked next to me? It’s a lot to process; can you just let me be for a moment?”
No matter how you slice it, the Little Princess’s attitude switch was way too fast. Just a few days ago, she had looked down on him, and now she was suddenly offering herself so freely. Yake couldn’t handle such rapid development, even if he understood her reasons.
“Alright then, take your time to calm down. I’m going back to sleep; I’m not done napping yet.”
Aierjisi yawned, turned back to her bed, and resumed slumber.
“Ugh… what am I supposed to do? Should I report to Mom that I successfully bagged the Little Princess? But I feel like I can’t celebrate at all…”
Yake gazed at the Little Princess’s sleeping figure. Even though she had given herself to him, he felt oddly unjoyful. It was more of a lack of reality; it felt like suddenly walking down the street and having a beautiful girl cling to your arm, calling you her husband. Who wouldn’t find that surreal?
“Thanks for the treat.”
After enjoying a delightful afternoon tea, Yin exited the Dessert House. She had no pressing tasks at the City Lord’s Mansion and was still on break, so she decided to wander the city and see if there were any cute goodies to snag.
“Oh, this dress looks rather nice.”
Stepping into a Clothing Store, Yin picked up a dress she liked and held it against herself.
“Miss Yin, you really have an eye for quality! This fabric is quite expensive.”
Seeing Yin enter his store, the Boss greeted her with a large grin.
“Really? Just how expensive are we talking?”
“About three to four stories tall!”
“Is that so? But this dress looks great; I’ll take it. Just remember to go to the City Lord for the payment later.”
After changing out of her uniform and into the newly purchased dress, Yin nodded and left the store.
Since Yin was the closest aide to the City Lord, the merchants in Pield knew to let her charge purchases to the City Lord, who was always more than happy to clear any outstanding bills without delay. So when Yin asked to bill her purchases, the merchants were more than agreeable.
“Alright, Miss Yin, take care!”
The merchant waved goodbye as he recorded the dress’s price, planning to visit the City Lord that night to collect the payment. If not, he could always try again the next day.
“Ah? Isn’t that Mr. Yake and Miss Aierjisi? What a coincidence! I didn’t expect to run into both of you so soon!”
Not far from the Clothing Store, Yin bumped into Yake and Aierjisi, who had just finished their afternoon nap at the Inn.
“Yeah. Who would’ve thought we’d cross paths three times in one day? Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket and see if I win today?”
Upon seeing Yin, Aierjisi looked at her with disdain while clutching Yake’s arm tightly. She had no good feelings towards this woman. To run into someone she disliked three times in a day in such a big city? Just how unlucky was she today?
“Miss Yin… good afternoon. But did you change your outfit?”
“Yep, this is my newly bought dress. How do I look? Doesn’t it suit me perfectly?”
Yin twirled around, showing off her dress for Yake to admire.
“Mm… as expected of Miss Yin, you make that dress look amazing; it suits you perfectly.”
【?!】
Hearing Yake’s flattery towards Yin’s dress, the Little Princess’s expression soured. She released her grip on Yake’s arm and pinched his bottom hard.
“Ah!”
With a sudden and painful pinch, Yake yelped in surprise.
“What’s wrong, Mr. Yake? Feeling unwell?”
“N-no, it’s not that. Just a little pain… my backside… Nothing serious, really.”
Yake caught a glimpse of Aierjisi’s disapproving glare as she scrutinized him and Yin. It seemed that his compliment might have triggered her jealousy.
“Is that so? If you’re unwell, it’s best to see a doctor. I know a really skilled physician; would you like an introduction?”
“No, really, it’s not a big deal; just a random twinge, nothing to worry about.”
Yake waved his hands, trying to assure Yin it was nothing, wanting her not to stress.
“Is that so? Well, then it’s fine. If you feel okay, that’s good. But remember, if things get worse, do see a doctor.”
“Yeah, don’t worry, I’m not a child. If it gets bad, I’ll go see one.”
“Good, just be sure to take care of your health. By the way, what are you two doing here? Were you also shopping for clothes?”
This street was the most clothing store-rich area in Pield, so it made sense they might be shopping for new clothes.
“Nope. We’re just wandering around; we only arrived here in Pield last night and wanted to explore the city today.”
Aierjisi answered Yin’s question. Saying they were shopping for clothes wasn’t a total lie; after all, there were plenty of cute new styles here that weren’t available in their Small Town. As a girl, the Little Princess couldn’t resist such adorable outfits. But if she admitted they were there to shop, it would mean this annoying woman would probably insist on shopping with her.
She certainly didn’t want to be stuck shopping with that annoying woman!
