Chapter 27

We left the classroom and headed toward the dormitory to eat lunch.

“Is the afternoon off? Last week was a break, right?”

I checked with Frank.

“Check the schedule. We have Herbology class. It was canceled last week because the Herbology teacher was on a business trip.”

Herbology…

Toko said she likes it, right?

“I hate Herbology. It makes no sense to me.”

Yuika shook her head.

“You hate everything except practicals, don’t you?”

Ilmera pointed out.

“What about you, Tsukasa? Since Herbology is specialized, lots of people don’t take it.”

Mathias asked.

“Hmm, I’m curious about what it’s like, so maybe I’ll try it? It might suit me.”

“I think you definitely won’t like it, but it’s good that you want to try.”

“It’s impossible for someone like you.”

Well, just the name ‘Herbology’ sounds boring.

While we were talking, we climbed the hill where the dormitory was located.

Then, we noticed several students stopped ahead.

Moreover, a group of students were glaring at a single girl.

“Oh, it’s Toko… and…”

Ilmera murmured and stopped, so we stopped too.

“What’s going on?”

“It’s the usual. I’ll go check.”

Ilmera approached the students.

“What should we do?”

Mathias asked, but honestly, I didn’t want to go.

That’s because Sharl who was glaring at Toko was there.

The scene was structured like this: Toko and Sharl glaring at each other, and Sharl’s group of friends.

Then Ilmera, who is also strong-willed, joined, giving off absolutely no good vibes.

“Are you going to bother someone, you brat from Henzelt?”

A male student behind Sharl asked Ilmera with a condescending look.

“Brat? We’re the same age. Are you so stupid that you can’t tell my age?”

Ilmera replied in an even more mocking tone.

“Tch! Get lost. We have business with this La Folle girl.”

Apparently, Toko was the target.

Well, that makes sense.

“Toko, do you have any business with these guys?”

When Ilmera asked, Toko immediately answered while still glaring at Sharl.

Sharl herself was glaring back.

I had never seen Sharl make a face like that before.

“You people are in the way. This is a passageway. If you want to fight, go to the training ground.”

When Yuika said this, the students glaring at each other looked at Yuika.

When our eyes met briefly with Sharl’s, she quickly looked away.

“So a fool has come now?”

The male student adopted another look of disdain.

“Fool?”

Yuika turned to look at me with a cheerful expression.

“Uh? Me?”

“Probably.”

No, I don’t think that’s true.

“You’re the one I’m talking to, Akaba the fool. You don’t belong here, so quit this school already.”

“It’s me…?”

“That’s right.”

He was clearly looking at me just now.

“Who are you? I’ve never seen you before… ”

The male student, whose name I didn’t know, now turned to me.

“I enrolled last week. Nice to meet you.”

“Ah… So you’re also in the D-class for inferiors?”

“Hmm? Is the D-class considered inferior?”

I asked Ilmera while absentmindedly petting Yuika’s head, who also seemed to be struggling with magic.

“They’re just saying that… but, it is disadvantageous.”

Ilmera looked bitterly at me and Yuika.

“No allies…”

“Of course you’re all fools…”

Tch.

“Hmph. Get lost, you bunch of inferiors.”

“I guess the elite students didn’t hear. I said to move because I’m in the way.”

Yuika glared back at the male student.

“Wha? You from that tiny island country dare to criticize me?”

“Mathias, aren’t you from an island country too?”

Oh… so that’s true.

“Huh? I’m from France though?”

Wait, what?

“Uh oh? France is an island country…”

No, I think that’s England.

I’m sure because I looked up Cedric’s origin.

“Yuika, I think we’d better not talk. Let’s move away.”

“Yeah…”

I pulled Yuika, who looked a little disheartened, to the side.

“Hmph, there really are only inferior students here. Class D truly is only full of low-borns.”

“The rank of my house is close to Iver’s… Chairman, you are speaking out of turn.”

Toko replied.

Moreover, she used honorifics.

“There’s no way your house and Iver are the same.”

“Really?”

“Mathias, shouldn’t you stop arguing about lineage? Haven’t you noticed I’m here?”

Unusually, Cedric joined the argument.

“Tch, Seager…”

The so-called Mathias made a bitter face.

“Do you have a great family background, Cedric?”

I asked Yuika quietly.

“No clue.”

You don’t know either?

“Seager’s house is one of the top five families in the world.”

Noel, who had approached us somehow, explained quietly.

“Really? Isn’t he supposed to be the next head?”

“Yes, he’s a very important person.”

I can’t tell at all.

“You can’t judge a book by its cover.”

“Ah, he’s not just being arrogant, is he?”

“He’s a gentleman…”

Gentleman, eh. I’ve heard the term ‘British gentleman’ before.

“Chairman, what shall we do?”

Mathias asked Sharp.

By the way, Sharl hasn’t said a single word so far.

“There are too many people gathered around. Let’s go.”

Sharl said that, slipped past Toko, and started descending the hill.

“Ka… Chairman… Tch, remember this well.”

Mathias said that, and followed Sharl. The other followers chased after him as well.

“Toko, what was all that?”

Ilmera asked Toko.

“No idea? It’s none of my business.”

Saying that, Toko climbed the hill and went toward the girl’s dormitory.

“Is that always the way?”

I asked Noel.

“Well, kind of… Sorry, but my country is split exactly between the Iver supporters and La Folle supporters.”

“Huh? You don’t have to apologize.”

Actually, I’m a pretty significant party in this whole thing.

“That’s right… Ouch!”

Yuika unnecessarily interjected, so I lightly tapped her on the head.

“What’s going on?”

Noel tilted her head while watching our exchange.

“Not much… By the way, which side are you on, Noel?”

“Sorry, but the Antoine house is on Iver’s side.”

Now I understand why Noel always has a bitter smile when this topic comes up.

“You don’t have to apologize either. We’re just students, right? Don’t worry, don’t worry.”

Because I, from the La Folle house, am also on Sharl’s side.
