Chapter 27. The Second Martial Sister Personally Comes
“Shi, Shili Senior Sister…”
Upon seeing the frosty Qin Shili approaching, everyone felt both joy and fear. After all, it was impossible to gauge what was on her mind; if she got upset, she could freeze them into ice blocks in an instant.
“Senior Sister Shili, we’re looking for Junior Martial Brother Lin Nuo to spar…”
“I see he’s not interested. Please return to your own activities.”
“This… is…”
Qin Shili held significant authority among the Xuanyun Sect disciples; just a couple of icy words from her sent them retreating.
The cold, icy silver-haired goddess, an admired figure among many, resembled an iceberg, her winter chill making others hesitate to approach.
The disciples gradually dispersed, and the chill began to diminish.
Qin Shili’s cold gaze was fixed on Lin Nuo, who couldn’t remember how long it had been since this beautiful woman had looked at him directly.
“Is there something?” Lin Nuo asked with a cold tone.
“Master wants you to come over.”
“Now?”
“Yes.”
“I refuse.”
“Why?”
“To train.”
“Then I’ll watch you train.”
Qin Shili’s gaze was unwavering as she locked onto him. No matter where he moved, she followed, truly intent on observing his training.
It was quite the thrill to be watched by the admired Qin Shili while training—but not really! If the former pure-hearted boy were under the Second Martial Sister’s gaze, he’d surely be excited enough not to sleep all night. But now, he was the big bad guy practicing demonic arts. If an ordinary person might not recognize it, someone at the seventh tier like Qin Shili would surely catch on at first glance—how could he reveal his dark training intentions?
Thinking back, Han Fairy did tell Ruo’er to have him come early, but he completely ghosted her.
Imagine if that woman found out he hadn’t shown up; she’d probably send Ruo’er or Liu Shuqin to hunt him down.
Who would have thought that the renowned Qin Shili would come personally to find him? What was strange was that she actually agreed.
Without uttering a word, Qin Shili didn’t ask what he was practicing, nor did she use force to compel him. Instead, she just stared at him, and Lin Nuo had no choice but to give in; he couldn’t shake her off, and her allure was too strong. More disciples were sneaking glances at her.
Finally, he relented:
“Let’s go.”
“Okay.”
This was the first response from Qin Shili after observing silently for a moment, and soon the two headed towards Han Fairy’s subsidiary hall.
Each respected master in the Xuanyun Sect has their own subsidiary hall, of course varying in size and the quality of spiritual pills, treasures, and artifacts based on their disciples’ abilities.
Han Fairy didn’t take many disciples, so her subsidiary hall was not intended to be large, but each of her disciples, besides Lin Nuo, was exceptional in talent—Qin Shili at the seventh tier, Liu Shuqin at the sixth tier, and Su Kexin who had risen to the third tier in just a year. Each of them was a top seed within the Xuanyun Sect. Thus, they provided her subsidiary hall some premium spiritual items and good places for training formations.
The subsidiary hall could also house spirit beasts, with Han Fairy, Liu Shuqin, and Qin Shili’s contracted beasts usually fed there, enjoying ample spiritual items.
Additionally, the hall had an excellent spiritual spring for practitioners to soak in, beneficial for both body care and cultivation improvement.
However, there was only one spiritual spring, and it was a female bathing pool. Han Fairy promised Lin Nuo that he could soak in the spiritual spring once he reached the fourth tier.
It was like saying to a bad student, “If you ace the exam, I’ll buy you something nice.”
Honestly, Lin Nuo wasn’t keen on going to Han Fairy’s subsidiary hall. After all, there was nothing there suited for him. Han Fairy’s reputation was built on her three female disciples, and it had nothing to do with him.
In front of the subsidiary hall stood a small pond, with two cranes standing by it, lowering their heads to drink water.
These two cranes were graceful and ethereal, but Lin Nuo’s mind was occupied with how to cook them up deliciously.
The main door of the subsidiary hall was open, and Qin Shili led Lin Nuo inside.
Su Kexin and Liu Shuqin had already arrived at the subsidiary hall. The veiled Han Fairy sat in her designated seat, guiding her two disciples.
“Master, I don’t know why, but my spiritual power and aura are both advancing; the bottleneck I faced before is resolved.”
“Hmm, I can feel it too. Both your aura and mental state have greatly improved, so it seems this outing for trials helped you a lot.”
“Um… I only killed three low-level monsters in Wind Sea Forest; the highest was an Earth tier. Later, I ran into disciples from the Demon Sect and ended up defeated, so I didn’t really have any opportunities to gain insight.”
Lin Nuo smiled upon hearing that.
Su Kexin, do you know why? That’s the protagonist’s constitution; each burst leads to a promotion. Should I use Maxwell’s equations, Fourier transforms, and the de Broglie relationship, PLUS a few hundred pages of a PhD thesis to prove this to you?
Liu Shuqin noticed the two outside the door and said with a smile, “Master, the junior brother has arrived.”
Immediately, the gazes of Han Fairy and Su Kexin shifted to Lin Nuo.
