The End.
Since the beginning of the history of magic.
The most powerful spell ever known, renowned for its overwhelming might.
Throughout the long history of magic, countless prodigies have emerged.
However, without a doubt, none have surpassed the progenitor of the Star Cloud, Lady Luna Lubinents, and the reason for that is none other than “The End.”
And since the creation of “The End” spell.
Apart from its creator, Lady Luna, no other wizard has been able to perfectly cast “The End.”
‘…That’s what history claims, anyway.’
Leo muttered to himself.
Of course, even in the present era, the legacy of “The End” persists.
It not only lingers but still holds the title of the strongest spell.
However, it is not the original.
‘Besides, the Magic of the Stars being used now isn’t even the original either.’
The Magic of the Stars was originally Luna’s proprietary magical system.
It was akin to Leo’s own proprietary magic, the Bible—a magical system based on Luna’s unique magical properties.
This system was reformed over the years to fit the characteristics of the elf race, resulting in the Magic of the Stars as we know it today.
And “The End”…
‘3000 years ago, the Comet Wizard Seirun resurrected it.’
One of the Heroes of the Cataclysm.
The Comet Wizard Seirun.
In elven history, this wizard was celebrated as the next genius after Luna.
‘Well, a genius all the same.’
After the Era of Catastrophe ended.
Based on the magical books left behind by Luna, numerous factions emerged among the elves to master the Magic of the Stars.
As a result, while the Magic of the Stars became the proprietary magic of the elves, it completely lacked uniformity.
Each faction specialized in different attributes, and the spells they could or couldn’t learn varied accordingly.
Moreover, many elves couldn’t even learn the Magic of the Stars altogether.
It was into this situation that the Comet Wizard Seirun arrived.
Seirun re-established the magic left by Luna from scratch.
And the result was the current system of the Magic of Stars which elves learn today.
According to history, Seirun was the second wizard after Luna to use “The End.”
‘Well, technically, the second to use it is me, though.’
The Magic of the Stars that Leo uses isn’t the re-established system of Seirun but the original system that Luna once wielded.
Leo used his proprietary magic, the Bible, to replicate Luna’s magic.
‘The power of magic is leagues apart from Luna’s, though.’
No matter how perfectly Leo may replicate Luna’s magic, it’s still just a copy.
‘The quality of magic power, and the capacity and output—none of that can even touch Luna’s.’
A prime example is Kyle in his prime; if he tried to cast an End spell of comparable power to Luna’s, it would deplete his magic power completely.
But Luna? She could cast such a powerful spell multiple times without even breaking a sweat.
‘That guy’s capacity and output were simply astronomical.’
It’s not without reason that the genius magician who overturned grim scenarios multiple times in battles that decided the fate of the world has been renowned.
Anyway, Leo was the one unique individual who could use the original End after Luna, even if she were to disappear entirely today.
Rebet’s face twisted when he heard Leo’s words.
“Student Lunia didn’t gain anything from the World Conquest of the Progenitor, did she?”
“Officially, yes. But revealing that fact might cause a commotion.”
At Leo’s words, Rebet looked at Lunia.
“Student Lunia, what magic did you gain from the Conquest?”
“Um… Well…”
“The End.”
When Leo replied, Rebet’s eyes widened in shock.
The ultimate magic that only selected elves could learn.
“The End magic, a symbol of the progenitor of the Star Cloud…”
‘That she obtained as a conquest reward, already in her first year…!’
One of the prerequisites to become the Student Council President of Seirun.
It involved the ability to use the End magic.
To elves, users of the End magic are known as “Successors of the Progenitor’s Will.”
“Impossible nonsense! The world of the Progenitor you conquered was definitely the Progenitor in her youth! The Progenitor before the Magic of the Stars was perfected, I’ve heard! There’s no way she could’ve cast the End spell during that time…”
“Are you doubting Lady Luna’s abilities now?”
“…”
Rebet had no choice but to shut his mouth when Leo spoke.
‘Of course, that was the time when Luna was only starting to establish the foundation of the Magic of the Stars. Naturally, the End hadn’t been completed yet.’
Not to mention, it was likely too early for any conception of the spell to even exist. Luna completed the End after joining the expedition team.
‘How could you possibly verify that anyway?’
In the history of this world, there is no detailed account of Luna’s history.
Thus, the exact time when the End was completed remains unknown.
And that leaves elves like Rebet with no choice but to remain silent at this one phrase.
‘Are you doubting Lady Luna’s abilities now?’
Rebet’s body trembled in response.
‘If… if that statement is true… Lunia El Rundah… might as well be a direct successor of the Progenitor!’
Even the Comet Wizard couldn’t use the original End.
And to date, there hasn’t been an elf who obtained the End as a conquest reward from Luna’s world.
Rebet pointed at Lunia.
“Nonsense! If you truly received the End spell from your conquest, why haven’t you announced it or used it?”
“Because it’s too premature for her to use. Lady Luna’s magic is too overwhelming for the current Lunia to wield due to a lack of sufficient magic power.”
Leo stood beside Lunia.
“Will you continue oppressing Lunia, who carries the legacy of Lady Luna?”
At Leo’s question, Rebet gritted his teeth.
“Student Lunia, if you truly have obtained the End, you will need to prove it!”
With that parting remark, Rebet quickly left the scene.
Whether Lunia had indeed mastered the End would only be found out later.
But if it was true, Lunia’s standing in elven society would surpass Rebet’s by leaps and bounds.
‘Not just surpass… My position might end completely!’
Rebet glanced sideways briefly.
‘Leo Flove… You! Humiliating me in front of everyone? I won’t forget this indignity!’
As Rebet departed, everyone focused their attention on Leo and Lunia.
“Come with me.”
Gritting her teeth, Lunia grabbed Leo’s wrist and ran.
And Leo followed behind her.
After running quite a distance, they arrived at a solitary spot, where Lunia perked her ears up to check for any surrounding footsteps.
“There’s no one around.”
“Why did you tell such a lie? I didn’t receive any reward from Lady Luna’s world! And you claimed you only acquired the Pollium right?”
Flushing red with rage, Lunia shouted. At which point Leo crossed his arms.
“I did receive the End magic, truly.”
“Huh?”
As Lunia looked confused, Leo placed his palm upward.
A complex magical formula floated above it.
Lunia stared in awe at that magical formula.
This magical formula itself was so intricate it could be considered a masterpiece of artistic beauty.
Innumerable magical patterns drew elegant lines.
And within that beauty, a tremendous destructive power lay dormant.
“This is…”
“Exactly, the original formula for The End left by the progenitor of the star cloud, Luna.”
Lunia swallowed hard.
“So, Leo, can you use the End magic?”
If this was true, then Leo had achieved what even the Comet Wizard, acclaimed as the successor to the progenitor of the star cloud, couldn’t.
At Lunia’s question, Leo smirked.
“Actually, I can’t use it.”
“What?”
“Even if I did obtain it as a reward, my current magic output isn’t nearly enough.”
The End magic, by itself, qualifies as high-tier magic.
To properly wield it requires significant magical output.
‘Still, my physical capabilities from my past life are far from matched yet.’
“But you can certainly wield it if you learn properly.”
Lunia has a high magical output.
When Leo said that, Lunia flinched.
“Teach me? The End? But…”
Lunia hesitated.
For the elves, mastering the End is an immense honor.
But Lunia couldn’t respond impulsively.
“Leo, it’s your conquest reward. Should I really take it?”
“I’ve already told all the students that you have also received a conquest reward. If you don’t accept, it’ll be awkward for me. And…”
Leo looked at the End formulas.
“Perhaps Luna desires it too. To have the elves inherit her magic.”
With those words, Lunia clenched her fists tightly and took a deep breath.
“Alright. I’ll learn. But how?”
The pure formula of the End is as proprietary to Luna as her magic.
“I’ve thought about a method. I revised the formulas. Now, even in the current state, it might be difficult for you to understand. However, looking at this will be useful.”
Leo took out a book from his breast pocket and handed it to Lunia.
The title on the cover read “[Introduction to the Magic of the Stars].”
It was a banned literature treated as forbidden in Seirun, authored by Ren, and was considered highly controversial.
After Leo thoroughly read this, he derived many inspirations.
‘The End formula could be restructured.’
Only someone who understood Luna’s star magic and Bible perfectly could re-establish such a formula.
Based on this, Leo could reconstruct Luna’s magic to fit Lunia.
“Memorize this thoroughly first.”
Leo’s instructions made Lunia’s eyes brighten as she received the magobook joyfully.
“Next?”
“We’ll tutor.”
“Tutor? When?”
“At night. Can you sneak out?”
“Yes. My roommate’s Eiran, so it’s possible.”
“Good. For the next week, you might not get to sleep much.”
“Understood.”
“And when you come tonight, bring Eiran with you.”
“Why Eiran?”
“I have something for her.”
On hearing that, Lunia nodded.
And spoke with a slightly excited tone.
“I get to learn the Progenitor’s magic.”
Is there any greater glory for an elf than this?
Watching Lunia shiver with excitement, Leo smiled.
“It’s best to learn fast. You’re already a step behind.”
“Behind? Behind who? You?”
“Not me — behind Ar Tune.”
Leo’s response made Lunia revert to her usual self.
“I admit the second-year representative of Azonia is impressive, but I don’t think she’s ahead of me?”
“No, she’s ahead.”
Leo smirked again.
“Ar already inherited the abilities of [Brave] Aron.”
“Huh?”
“Ar can achieve spontaneous water transformation whenever she desires.”
Lunia’s eyes widened in shock.
Spontaneous Water Transformation.
The symbolic ability associated with Aron that Lunia never thought Ar could acquire, made her clench her fists tightly.
‘So, the competition is… not just Leo.’
Lunia’s eyes burned with determination.
‘Seems like this is a good push for her.’
Leo smiled faintly.
‘Looks like I should tutor that stupid cat too.’
Leo glanced at his hand.
As someone who carries the strength of his companions.
Leo had an obligation to pass their abilities to the next generation.
‘Luna would have certainly wanted Lunia as her disciple if she saw her now.’
Ar, who was sparking a competitive spirit against Lunia, looked at Leo.
“Alright, what’s that look for?”
“What look?”
“A perverted look like a middle-aged man checking out a vibrant teenager?”
“…You really are a suitable successor to Lady Luna. You’re quite like her as I see it.”
“Oh, thank you for the compliment!”
Lunia happily accepted it.
But Leo said,
“That was not a compliment but an insult.”
“How is being like Lady Luna an insult? Did you just insult Lady Luna?”
Pushing Leo away as she lunged angrily at him, Leo sighed.
‘Why is her personality so similar?’
