Chapter 287

Chapter 267: Tickets

In the bustling streets of East Tivyán, Nephnis stood slightly stunned, looking at the mysteriously grinning Moisans.

“Adele Briouze? That famous female dancer, right? I’ve heard of her and I’m somewhat interested. Is there something you want to ask me about this?” Nephnis responded, glancing at the giant poster of a beautiful woman hanging by the street. With such a strong advertisement, it was hard not to be intrigued.

“Ah, you’re interested, that’s great!” Hearing Nephnis’s words, Moisans said with relief. He then looked up toward the distance for a moment before quietly saying to Nephnis, “Since Big Sister is interested in Adele, how about attending her performance tomorrow at the Feiteng Theatre? I’ve heard Adele has several performances, and some are brand new shows that have never been performed before. It’s definitely worth watching!”

Moisans continued in a hushed tone, repeatedly glancing around. Upon hearing his words, Nephnis frowned slightly and then asked, “Adele’s performance? Tickets for such a show must have been sold out by now.”

Nephnis remarked; today was the day before the performance, and based on her knowledge of the influence a star like Adele had in the newspapers, there was almost no possibility of still being able to buy a ticket. In fact, if she hadn’t been busy revising for a retest, she might have gone out to buy one herself.

“That’s right, usually you’d be unable to buy tickets seven days in advance. But let me tell you, Big Sister, I still have a few tickets left! At this time, tickets can go for four or five pounds at the highest, but I’m only asking two pounds for each. How about that?” As he spoke, Moisans pulled out a few corners of tickets from his pocket. Seeing this action, Nephnis finally understood what he was up to.

“You, as an Extraordinary Being, are selling scalped tickets?” Nephnis exclaimed in surprise. If she remembered correctly, he was supposedly an apprentice-tier Extraordinary Being. Could an Extraordinary Being really fall to the level of selling scalped tickets?

“Hey, you don’t know! The profit from Adele’s tickets is huge! It’s far more profitable than the odd small scalps I get. I don’t want to join other factions, so why not do a business that makes money? Making money isn’t shameful. As an Extraordinary Being, I have an advantage when it comes to snagging tickets.”

Moisans grinned and said. Listening to him, Nephnis gained a new perspective on the lower-tier Extraordinary Beings in Tivyán. Just as she was about to say something more, her gaze swept to the distant end of the street where, among the crowd, several police officers and individuals dressed in what seemed to be theater usher uniforms were looking around restlessly, seemingly searching for something.

Seeing this situation, Nephnis understood something, while Moisans, seeing Nephnis’s lack of response, became a bit anxious and said, “So, Big Sister, do you want the tickets or not? I’m in a bit of a rush.”

“Ah… let me think. I can take the tickets, but I think you can lower the price a bit more,” Nephnis replied with a slight smile, to which Moisans awkwardly responded.

“Lower the price, huh… let me think. Here’s the deal: it’s already quite cheap, but considering you let me off the last time, I’ll give you a discount and sell you each ticket for one pound. How’s that for the two I have left?”

Moisans continued, and Nephnis shook her head and replied, “Fifty pence each. If you agree, I’ll take both for one pound. If not, then forget it.”

Nephnis spoke frankly, and upon hearing her words, Moisans’s face displayed even more difficulty. Fifty pence each was already very close to what he had paid for the tickets. Selling them at this price would leave him with barely any profit.

“Um… Big Sister, your price really puts me in a tough spot…” Moisans wanted to say more, but when he glimpsed the approaching police and usher uniforms getting closer, he hurriedly responded, “Alright, alright, fifty pence it is… Big Sister, let’s hurry!”

With that, Moisans hurriedly pulled out two colorful tickets, and after Nephnis caught them, she took out a pound note from her bag and handed it to him. He quickly tucked the money into his pocket.

“Thank you, Big Sister, for taking care of my business today. Until next time~”

After collecting the money, Moisans immediately took off running. Moments after he fled, the ushers and police that had been searching suddenly seemed to catch sight of him.

“There! That kid is over there!”

“Quick, chase after him!”

Several ushers shouted as they surrounded Moisans, capturing him entirely. The police lagged a bit behind. Before they could arrive, the ushers had already begun to interrogate him sternly.

“Moisans? Are you the one scalping our tickets again?!”

“Gentlemen, this time you’re mistaken! I haven’t sold any of your tickets at all! If you don’t believe me, search me; I definitely don’t have a single ticket…” he started, but before Moisans could finish, he was directly pinned to the ground by a few ushers, one of them cursing loudly.

“This kid used to sneak around when he was boxing! Don’t believe anything he says; search him!”

“Ah, gentlemen, be gentle! Ow! That hurts!”

The ushers and Moisans got into a tussle, causing quite a commotion that attracted the surrounding audience to watch. This scene did not escape Nephnis’s gaze, and she nodded thoughtfully.

‘Sure enough, he’s being chased, so he hurried to get rid of the tickets he had on hand. Perfect, I managed to buy two tickets at a low price through this opportunity.’

Nephnis thought this as she noticed people looking for Moisans, coupled with his sly demeanor. That was why she had made such a low offer.

‘Perfect! After successfully passing my retest, I can go see the show. I’m lucky; I originally thought I wouldn’t have the chance to go.’ As she felt the tickets in her bag, Nephnis was quite pleased.

“Well then… after returning, I should find someone to go see the show with me. I wonder if Aima is free?”

Muttering to herself, Nephnis walked happily along the path back to school. Just as she hadn’t gone far, she suddenly felt something unusual on her shoulder. Reaching for her right shoulder, she found a mark she had drawn herself.

‘This is… Miss Dorothy’s mark? Is she trying to hint at me?’

Thinking this, Nephnis quickly walked into a small alley and took out a book from her bag. Flipping it open, she quickly turned to a page filled with text, and on that page were new words written.

“Do you have time at noon?”

……

On the northern outskirts of Tivyán, outside the eastern gate of King Campus, Green Shade Town.
