Chapter 29: Better to Speak Clearly
The man came here, of course, to ask if they would like to become his disciples. As long as they agreed, they could set off at any time.
Weirafiya and Yaser didn’t think much and immediately agreed. For them at this moment, improving their strength was essential. On the other hand, since Aierjisi and Ailin had already agreed, they figured it would be best to join them too.

Yaser clutched his heart, still feeling some pain there. He was unsure how long it would take to fully recover. Still, the fact remained that this man had saved his life, and he needed to express his gratitude, though he didn’t know how to do it.
“I’ve said it before; you should be grateful to your master, not me. I merely used its feather to save you, nothing more. Focus on healing now. Once you’ve recovered, I’ll naturally return. Farewell for now.”
With that, the man once again vanished from their sight.
“Weirafiya, do you think this man can be trusted?”
After the man completely disappeared, Aierjisi turned to Weirafiya to ask her opinion on him.
“Eh? I think he should be trustworthy. After all, he used a feather to save my servant Yaser. Just based on that, I think we can trust him.”
“But I feel that we shouldn’t trust him completely. We still don’t know much about him. Trusting him and treating him as an ally seems a bit inappropriate.”
“I don’t think so. That man saved our lives, didn’t he? If he truly wanted us dead, he could’ve easily wiped us out back then.”

Having reached this point in the conversation, Aierjisi found it hard to continue doubting the man, though she still felt a bit uneasy about him. Perhaps she should keep a mental note about him just in case.

Since there was nothing more for her to do here, Aierjisi decided to leave the room and take a stroll to clear her mind.
“Yake, why does it feel like you’re really distrustful of that man?”

Aierjisi’s suspicion stemmed precisely from how perfectly timed the man’s appearance was.
Just when they were about to be completely defeated by the Adrian People, the man showed up right on time to stop Weirafiya from going berserk and forced all the Adrian People to retreat. His entrance was perfectly timed, almost too good to be true. This made Aierjisi very wary of him. However, since Ailin and Weirafiya both trusted him, she didn’t want to say much more and just kept her guard up in her heart.
“Yeah, when you put it that way, it does sound suspicious.”
Yake also thought the timing of the man’s appearance was indeed too clever. Right at the most critical moment, he stopped the Adrian People. Initially, he had considered him an ally, but now that he thought about it, the Little Princess’s concerns didn’t seem unwarranted; the man’s timing was just too odd.
“But now the other two trust him greatly. We can only stay on our toes about this. For now, let’s not mention this to them, alright?”

Aierjisi didn’t trust Yaser, the clueless idiot, to quietly monitor the man; she knew only she could handle the task properly.
“Ah, really? You don’t trust me at all? I think I could monitor him without being discovered!”
“Is that what you think? I really doubt you can handle this job. Let me do the observing since I’m the one who doesn’t trust him.”
“Fine, I won’t say anything.”
Since the Little Princess believed he was incapable of the job, arguing would be pointless. He had no choice but to go along with her plan.
“If you want to monitor me, there’s no need. I’ve already heard everything you just said. Turns out you don’t trust me after all.”
Just as they reached that decision, the man suddenly appeared before them.
“When did you hide there and listen?”
Seeing the man appear in front of them, Aierjisi immediately took a combat stance, glaring at him.
“I wouldn’t say I’ve been hiding there all along. I’ve been right beside you, knowing exactly what you were saying and doing.”
“Oh? You really have a rather creepy hobby of eavesdropping on others, don’t you?”
“Well, if we don’t resolve the distance between us, it’ll only lead to more trouble in our future lives. So if possible, I’d like to clear things up with you right now, to eliminate any misunderstandings. Would you be willing to talk openly with me?”
“Interesting. Alright, since you’ve taken the initiative to approach us, let’s have a frank discussion. But before that, let’s find a quieter place to talk. Follow me.”
Perfect! If they could sort things out here and make it easier for themselves to trust this man, it would certainly save them all a lot of hassle.
