Chapter 3: I’m a Kind-Hearted Person Who Can’t Stand Seeing You All Die

Seeing my fellow creatures so easily taken down by this girl in front of me, the other two Fear Wolves felt that this girl was not as easy to deal with as she looked, and they immediately planned to retreat.

“Nyaa?”

Just as they were about to sneak away while the girl was distracted, they found themselves ensnared by vines that had come out of nowhere, rendering them immobile.

“Hehe. Did you think I would just let you go? I was just testing it out, and I can’t believe there really are plants here that I can control. What a big help this is!”

Aierjisi looked at the two Fear Wolves struggling in the vines under her control and couldn’t help but grin with delight. She hadn’t had much hope when trying out the Plant Control Technique, but it turned out there really were plants in this ruin that she could manipulate to become her allies.

“Hey, hey, don’t look at me with those scared eyes! Since you decided to attack me, you should be ready to be counterattacked!”

Seeing the terrified expressions of the two Fear Wolves, Aierjisi felt no pity at all. The law of the jungle is survival of the fittest; if you’re weak, isn’t it only natural that the strong will consume you?

“Don’t worry, I’ll treat you gently. I won’t let you die that easily.”

Aierjisi transmitted a current through the vines, shocking the two Fear Wolves as if they were high voltage wires. Of course, to avoid accidentally killing them, Aierjisi controlled the current output to be quite weak, only 10%. The Fear Wolves wouldn’t die from this shock, but their bodies would be paralyzed by the continuous electric shocks, leaving them in a state where they couldn’t survive nor die.

“Now, let’s try some of this long-lost magical beast meat. I wonder what Fear Wolf meat tastes like.”

Focusing her attention on the first Fear Wolf she was hunting, Aierjisi grabbed one of its legs and ripped it right off.

She wasn’t unfamiliar with consuming magical beast meat. Back when she was in the Royal Palace, magical beast meat was always high-end, prepared by professional chefs before being served. Eating the raw meat of a low-tier magical beast like this was a first for her.

“Yuck. I guess it’s no surprise it’s low-tier. It has no value at all.”

From just the first bite, Aierjisi felt disgusted by the Fear Wolf meat. What a terrible thing! The meat tastes so awful, this species shouldn’t even exist anymore; they serve no purpose at all.

But now, there was no other choice. To replenish her stamina and magic power, she had to eat this only Fear Wolf meat available to her.

“If I had known it would be like this, I should have learned some cooking magic from Aisi back when I was training.”

After eating a few bites of the wolf leg, Aierjisi sighed and put it down. Most of the magic she learned was for combat, not for cooking since she thought she wouldn’t need it at all.

Ultimately, after forcing herself to consume all the edible parts of the first Fear Wolf, she shifted her focus to the other two.

Those two had long since given up struggling. The Wolf King had already discarded them as pawns the moment he realized they were being counterattacked.

“Maybe this time I’ll just try sucking some blood instead?”

Aierjisi was reluctant to keep eating the terrible meat anyway. After all, being a member of the Blood Clan, she could directly replenish herself by drinking their blood.

No sooner said than done, Aierjisi extended her hand, grabbing the Fear Wolf by the neck, and opened her mouth to reveal her fierce fangs before biting down.

Due to the prolonged electric shocks, the Fear Wolf didn’t feel any pain and was equally unable to resist, allowing Aierjisi to drain its blood dry until it was just a withered husk.

“Ah, this is definitely a lot easier and quicker than eating meat.”

After sucking every last drop of blood from this Fear Wolf, Aierjisi wiped her mouth. Drinking blood is definitely a more convenient way to feed herself, without having to eat that awful meat.

“Sorry to keep you waiting! Don’t worry, I’ll send you to join your two companions soon.”

Throwing away the dried-up Fear Wolf corpse, Aierjisi reached out her magic claws and fangs towards the last remaining Fear Wolf.

Three minutes later…

“Feeling a little better, huh?”

After draining all three Fear Wolves dry, Aierjisi felt her magic power was just a tad higher than before. Low-tier magical beasts remain low-tier, and even the magic power converted from blood was minimal—how wasteful. But her stamina had certainly recovered quite a bit.

“Next, I should hurry and find the exit of the ruins. It’s not safe to stick around here.”

Considering there might be more magical beasts besides the Fear Wolves in this ruin, Aierjisi didn’t intend to linger, she had to find a route to escape quickly. She had no time to waste; she needed to find Harker and smash his dog head to restore the glory of our Blood Clan!

“This is a necessary expense; it can’t be helped.”

Looking at the seemingly endless expanse of ruins, if Aierjisi were to wander aimlessly, her chances of getting out would be almost zero. Reluctantly, Aierjisi had to use the Plant Control Technique again to control the vines, spreading them like cables in the city throughout the ruins. This way, Aierjisi could send herself messages through these vines to understand the layout of this ruin.

“Ah, so this is the structure, huh?”

According to the information the vines relayed, Aierjisi constructed a mental map of the ruins and the locations of those magical beasts inside. There were quite a few magical beasts in this ruin, and it would be impossible to evade combat and escape.

“Hm? What’s this? Someone’s coming in from outside? And quite a few of them.”

While Aierjisi was still selecting routes to escape, the vines brought her new information: intruders were entering the ruins from the outside, and there were at least 20 based on the footsteps.

“Oh ho? Looks like these guys are doing me a favor.”

With intruders from the outside, the magical beasts that were originally in the ruins began to approach the entrance, ready to teach these clueless intruders a lesson.

And right now, this development would greatly aid Aierjisi’s escape. Since the magical beasts were heading toward the intruders, Aierjisi could try to avoid unnecessary battles and perhaps slip out with zero consumption.
