I finished eating my bento at the dormitory cafeteria and headed toward Building A.
When I arrived, though I had come 10 minutes earlier than usual, Sharl was already waiting in front of the bulletin board.
“Isn’t this too early?”
I approached Sharl and spoke to her.
“I just don’t want to stay in the dormitory too long. It’s fine if you don’t mind.”
“Got it. Hey, about Monday…”
“Let’s talk about that tomorrow. I’d rather not discuss it at the academy.”
That makes sense.
“So, let’s focus on Cursology.”
“Good attitude.”
“More or less.”
Still, I have no idea what’s going on.
We entered Building A and went up to the third floor, entering the classroom.
After sitting at the back, we waited for class to begin.
“Sharl, are you taking Herbology?”
“I am. It’s related to Alchemy.”
Ah, herbs are apparently materials for potions, that makes sense.
“Just checking, is it interesting?”
“Yes, I find it interesting.”
“What about History?”
“I’m taking it, and I think it’s fascinating.”
I’m getting a vibe that Toko and I would get along better than me and her.
“I see…”
“Are you not taking it?”
“I’m not taking History because it’s on the opposite end, and I’m considering Herbology. It was just boring.”
“That makes sense too. If your focus is on learning Curse Removal, it’s fine to stay focused. It’s tough to juggle multiple things.”
That’s what I’ll do.
As Sharl was giving me advice, the teacher arrived and we began the Cursology lesson.
As expected, it was difficult and difficult to understand, but I tried my hardest to listen.
By the time class ended, my head was filled with question marks.
“Sharl, did you get it?”
“It’s tough…”
Even for Sharl…
“Phew… well, it’s just the beginning.”
“That’s true. Oh, the Principal called me, so could you go ahead without me?”
She’s the Student Council President after all.
“Alright. See you tomorrow.”
“At six. If you sleep in, you’ll be waiting at the park endlessly, so don’t oversleep.”
If that happens, you should go home.
“Roger that.”
As Sharl and I parted, I left the school building and headed back to the dormitory.
While climbing the hill, I saw a girl standing at the split between the girls’ and town views, gazing off idly.
“What’s with the daydreaming?”
“Big Brother…”
Toko glanced at me briefly but quickly returned to looking at the town.
“Can you see anything?”
“Don’t approach me at the academy.”
“There’s no one around.”
There aren’t any other students around.
“Well, yes… Is Big Brother taking Cursology?”
“That’s right.”
“I heard from Noel. It’s true, isn’t it? Why Cursology?”
“I heard mom excels at Curse Removal. I thought maybe I have talent for it too.”
I can’t tell even my twin sister the real reason.
“You’re an idiot… There’s no way something like that would happen.”
I feel the same way.
“Stop it. Are you taking History?”
“Yup. It’s fun to learn things I don’t know.”
What an overachiever.
Even though you’re an idiot.
“Have you ever been to town?”
I asked while looking at the town.
“A few times, with Ilmera. It’s something, isn’t it?”
“Yep. What about outside of town?”
“Nope. Mom would object anyway.”
That’s probable.
“Man, I wonder about what’s outside. Monsters, right?”
“Right. Is it true Big Brother wanted a trident? You’re not serious, are you?”
Seems women don’t understand men’s dreams.
“Shut up.”
I tapped Toko’s head.
“Domestic violence… Phew, let’s go home.”
“I’m heading home too. See you.”
“Wow, what cheesy dialogue. We’re going to the same place.”
“More or less.”
As we parted, we returned to the boys’ and girls’ dormitories, respectively.
When I got home, I prepared for the next day by going to bed early, making sure not to oversleep.
The next morning, waking up early, I went to the park to teach Sharl martial arts.
“Hey, why does every one of my attacks get read so easily?”
We just did a light mock battle, but I managed to dodge all of Sharl’s attacks.
As a result, Sharl quickly ran out of stamina, hugging her knees to rest.
“Well, the techniques I taught you, after all.”
Even before that part…
“It feels like I can’t win even if I use magic…”
How about that?
I’ve never fought someone who uses magic, so I don’t know.
“What will you do? Should we keep going?”
“Hmm, instead of more mock battles, I think I should work on my movements.”
She’s serious.
“Alright, let’s keep going a bit more then.”
“Please.”
After teaching Sharl the basics of martial arts movements, it was 7 o’clock and people walking their dogs and running gradually appeared in the park.
“I’m tired…”
Sharl was once again resting, hugging her knees.
“Are you okay?”
“I’m fine. Just a bit tired.”
Saying that, Sharl tried to stand up, so I offered her a hand.
Sharl looked at the hand intently before grabbing it and standing up.
“Thanks.”
“Don’t mention it. While it’s good to be serious, be careful not to get hurt.”
“I’m probably not gonna fall since you’ll catch me.”
I always catch her when she falls.
Because she can’t even break her fall properly.
No wait…
“Should I teach you how to break your fall?”
When I think about it, I probably should teach her that first.
“Teach me.”
“Alright… it’s not that difficult.”
Afterwards, I proceeded to teach her how to fall correctly. It’s not that hard, so it went quickly.
“You can probably manage this one.”
“Make sure you can do it instinctively in an emergency.”
Truly, you need to practice being thrown so your body gets used to it repeatedly.
But I don’t want to do that.
Even though it’s grass, it’ll be inconvenient.
“Maybe you can practice at home…”
Your house seems spacious. My room doesn’t even have enough space for practice.
“Let’s go home soon. More people are coming.”
A few people are passing by, all glancing at us.
I would probably do the same if I were in their position, so it can’t be helped.
“That’s true. Here, have this.”
Sharl took out two blue potions and handed one to me.
“Thanks… Ah, when I saw a potion shop in town, the blue ones cost 100,000… How much is this one?”
I asked Sharl, who was drinking the potion without a care.
“Oh, right, you were saying you’d go to town. The cheap ones are factory-made, hence the low cost, but proper potions are expensive because only a limited number of people can make them. As for the price, since these are ones I’ve improved on, I don’t really know.”
It tastes like apple, doesn’t it…
“Seriously? That’s tough to drink. 100,000 is crazy.”
“Why? Drink it. I specially made this one with strawberry flavor.”
After hearing that, I drank it and it indeed tasted like strawberries.
She changes the flavor…
“It’s good.”
“Isn’t it? I’m currently developing a grape flavor.”
She really does it as a hobby.
“Make it taste like cola.”
“Cola? Carbonated drinks, you mean?”
Sharl folded her arms and started pondering.
“Never mind if it’s impossible.”
“Impossible? Hah, we’ll make it!”
I didn’t mean to provoke her, but she took it as a challenge…
