Chapter 30

Top: K’Sante

Jungle: Xin Zhao

Mid: Arin

ADC: Aphelios

Support: Lulu

VS

Top: Oryun

Jungle: Lillia

Mid: Yasuo

ADC: Jinx

Support: Thresh

“I think I can do alright with laning against K’Sante.”

“Maybe focus on jungling, create a level lead against the opponent, and look to the late game?”

“Is this Yasuo?”

“It’s okay since Arin counters him.”

The champion I picked was Yasuo. With his W ability’s shroud skill, he could counter ranged champions and was strong in lane battles against ranged opponents. His advantage also lay in the sides.

“After trying it this patch, the stage and Iron Bow buffs seem pretty decent.”

The Infinity Edge’s attack damage increased from 70 to 80, and the critical strike damage rose from 40% to 50%.

If you didn’t use it, you’d be as good as useless. Moreover, with buffs to critical strike items and ranged items across the board, there was no reason not to pick them.

‘And Yasuo Yune didn’t get nerfed either.’

This season, while critical strike items were buffed, there was an overall nerf to AD Carries—but Yune and Yasuo managed to escape it.

Some called it a patch to nerf due to their new skins, but for me, it was a welcome change.

The game began, and in the early stages, I started farming while appropriately trading blows. With our jungle being Xin Zhao, who excels at skirmishes, while the enemy had Lillia who focuses on jungle clear speed, our team predictably fell behind a bit early on.

But of course, even if we were behind, since the late-game teamfight meta was in our favor, we were only letting the Rift Herald and Dragon go for the time being.

“Do you think we can fight for the next Dragon?”

Game time: 12 minutes. The second Dragon was about to spawn. All four mid and top laners were level 10, the bot lane ADC was at level 9, and the support was at level 7.

“I’m technically a level ahead right now.”

However, in the jungle front, Lillia was at level 10 and Xin Zhao at level 9, putting our side slightly ahead.

“I’ll purchase Mercury’s Treads and use my Teleport.”

Given the enemy’s high CC composition, I opted against the usual Boots of Swiftness and chose the Mercury’s Treads instead. Then, using my saved Teleport, I returned to mid-lane.

“The teams have even compositions.”

The difference in growth between the teams wasn’t significant. This Dragon fight would undoubtedly be decided by the execution of teamfights.

“Ark, it looks like they’re starting to rise.”

“True. We’ve already given up Dragon and the Rift Herald; we can’t afford to give up anything else. That’s the setup we’re seeing.”

“Also, with this patch, tier 2 boots got some nice buffs, so none of the players have completed their first core items yet—they’re all prioritizing boots.”

“True. Neither side dominates the other in terms of composition, so we’ll need to see how this fight plays out.”

[Wait, what’s up with Para? Is he even trying?]

[Seriously, all he’s done for 15 minutes is farm?]

[This game is so boring. Turning it off, bye]

[Sigh, what a legendary rookie, am I right? Fell for those hyped internet streams again.]

[Stop hating already, damn!]

[Thankfully, the online competition has cameras. Para’s looks are really killing it today.]

“Arin’s instant charm! However, Para’s Yasuo reacted like it was nothing and blocked it with his shroud!”

[Whoa, not the ultimate or charm but just E, and yet he blocked it immediately?]

[Physically, you can’t beat Para.]

[He’s just a machine.]

“There’s no reason to just sit and watch after Arin’s Flash runs out, right?”

“Indeed, it seems like Ark anticipated that. Here comes Oryun’s ult! Boom!”

[Wow, triple ultimate combo!]

[Caster tank champs are just rice bowls.]

[Eh, even if Oryun plays well, Jason’s Gnar couldn’t save them from relegation last year.]

[Damn, these guys are streaming Galacticons during this game.]

“Oryun’s ult lands on Xin Zhao, Aphelios, and Lulu!”

“Seizing the moment, Para’s Yasuo follows up with his ultimate!”

“Ah, it’s time to peel! If we don’t peel now, we’re all going down!”

“At the moment he reacted to the lure from the bushes, it was clear that BU’s plan was already shattered.”

“We’ll need to replay this to confirm, but surely that bush had its vision cleared by BU? Reacting to it raw like that is just extraordinary.”

[Everyone clustered together where the charm was thrown. Any random hit would have caused a fight to break out, but he just blocked it with a shroud.]

[Anti-hate crew, CUT! CUT! CUT!]

[Where did they go?]

[Stop hating on Para, the Challenger-level VLL champion who occasionally drops a few deaths.]

[Jeon is really consistent, though.]

“The replay is showing it now. As you can see… Rama wouldn’t leave a ward in a spot like that.”

“Reacting to a charm from a bush without vision certainly fulfilled the audience’s expectations.”

“Alright, let’s get back to the game!”

‘Nice!’

Watching the match from the adjacent supervisor’s office, Kim Hanseong clenched his fists and quietly cheered.

There was significant resistance from both the team management and players regarding the signing of Yoon Seohwa.

While she did win an amateur tournament, aside from Kim Hanseong, few people followed amateur and streamer tournaments closely.

To them, Yoon Seohwa was just a pretty middle school girl who reached solo rank number one.

The stress he faced from the organization after signing her with a top-level contract and unusual clauses was immense.

‘Everyone’s watching now.’

Soon, everyone will understand, including the players currently playing alongside her and those who criticized Kim Hanseong. They will see that his judgment was correct.

[Right now, Yasuo is performing like a complete monster! A monster!]

[Since the Dragon fight at the 14-minute mark, he’s had an explosive growth spree!]

[Uh… what will happen to Aphelios now that Lulu is down?]

The match unfolding on the monitor was nothing short of one-sided slaughter.

To an uninformed viewer, it might appear as though pro players were massacring amateurs.

However, Kim Hanseong saw this outcome as a given.

‘I never planned to use her for this level of competition.’

Kim Hanseong believed Yoon Seohha’s talent could place her among the top five players in the LCK, the top League of Legends competition.

Considering the absurd demands and risks, the reward of carrying a second-tier League of Legends team single-handedly felt justified.

[This player truly is something special. Rookie debut games usually fall into one of two categories:]

The speaker’s comments aligned with Kim Hanseong’s own thoughts. Rookie debut matches typically had two archetypes: the players who got scared and did nothing, leading to the game’s end. Or those who became overconfident, playing recklessly and ruining games.

But Yoon Seohwa didn’t fit either archetype. While she was bold when needed, she didn’t overexert herself unnecessarily.

‘…Such veteran-like poise.’

Kim Hanseong found Yoon Seohwa’s play resembled seasoned veteran players.

More accurately, those often referred to as “monsters” who dominate the scene at the top level. Similarities began to emerge as he watched her play.

Now I understand why Yasuo was picked. Genius!

– wtf

– Indeed, Yasuo’s debut pog is wild.

– Right, right. Sister, prove it with your champion in the pros too.

– I almost lost it when I saw Yasuo as a 5th pick.

– Honestly, if we lost, the haters would have swarmed in.

– But you carried the game, let’s have a drink.

Title: Physical or what?

(Thumbnail reel of Para’s personal camera feed.)

Seriously, isn’t the face-grade pretty much at an idol level?

– Wait, the female streamer who had 10k viewers now seems insignificant?

– But hey, it’s a League broadcast.

– She’s wearing the uniform, which looks insanely good.

– Truly, where can I buy the uniform? I want one like Para’s.

Title: Purchased the Uniform

I bought Para’s uniform from ark’s website immediately.

It seems like they don’t have a lot in stock since it’s a second-tier team?

They’re out of XL. If anyone wants one, hurry up and get it!

– Damn, what’s with the XL and 2XL sellout?

– League dudes have a physique that deserves recognition.

– I think only 50 pieces are available per size?

– 50 pieces remaining after the Spring split and into the Summer?

Title: What’s up with going full tank with Yasuo?

It oddly looks good though.

– Tank items received buffs, so yeah.

– Arin probably didn’t scale well, so they focused on Aphelios in the late-game.

– With Iron Bow, Death’s Dance, and Randuin’s, he’s basically unkillable?

– If both critical strike and tank items are so good, why not just stack both?

Title:
* If this isn’t a legendary rookie, then what is?

Seriously, after carrying game 1 as Yasuo, game 2 starts with Nautilus?

– Nautilus mid-tier gallery pic kek.

– Did Yasuo seem fun? Banned, right? Click.

– Try a pick ban against her.

– That’s actually a good idea.

– Theoretically, it’s fine.

– Yeah, tanks are solid these days.

– But mid Nautilus? Lolol.
