Chapter 301: Dismantle! Dismantle! Dismantle!
As the silk threads pulling the massive wheel were snapped, Queen Mantis let out a scream filled with shock and fury.
Old silk threads severed by its segmented limbs, new ones being pulled by its front claws, she attempted to evade Flame King Dragon’s dive through three-dimensional movement.
Adjusting her angle of descent with her wings, one swipe sent the Queen Mantis flying off.
The Queen was nimble; her slender frame resilient. Though her shell was pierced by claws, it wasn’t torn apart, and she was flung away before any real damage could be done.
In mid-air, she stabilized herself using the remaining silk threads, then flew away, creating more distance between herself and Jié Jié.
Streams of silk erupted from her abdomen as she simultaneously maneuvered herself, sending chunks of construction material hurtling towards Jié Jié.
Brick after brick was shattered by Jié Jié. Metal materials that couldn’t be destroyed at once were knocked away, severing the silk threads connecting them to the Queen.
Then there was that colossal metal wheel—capable of slicing through a dragon roll vertically and sweeping away firefields horizontally. If such a heavy object hit you on the head, even an Ancient Dragon would end up bloodied and dazed.
Through continuous pulling, the Queen gradually regained control over the metal wheel. The newly spun silk reformed into a vast web-like structure, yanking half-buried ruins out from ground fissures.
The Queen’s Ruin City! Her throne!
Numerous fragments of ruins, linked by thick silk threads, assembled into an Ultra-Large Constructed Body, ten times larger than the Queen Mantis herself.
This construct had clearly defined limbs, tail, and head, with elongated neck and tail, evoking comparisons to the Old Mountain Dragon often sighted in this area.
“This completion rate… quite worrying,” Jié Jié muttered, observing the shabby Ultra-Large Constructed Body with slight regret.
Eating male Mantises is one thing, but engaging in fierce combat was all about witnessing the legendary Queen’s Throne.
However, the Ruin City before him appeared tattered, with fewer metallic parts and more composed of ruined bricks and monster bones.
Unsurprisingly, he found his Strike Dragon Gun within the Ruin City, now entangled in silk threads, serving as the spine of the construct.
Despite the disappointment, the wisdom of the Queen Mantis was evident with the unveiling of the Ruin City.
The only issue here was the lack of materials…
“Chchch!”
The Queen Mantis atop the Ruin City spread her arms wide, emitting a wild shriek.
A torrent of golden silk gushed from her abdomen, wrapped by her limbs into a Golden Cocoon, which descended into the core of the Ruin City.
The thick golden silk acted like nerves and tendons, while the Queen Mantis ensconced in the core became the neural center, the driver.
The enormous construct awakened from slumber, its stiff limbs slowly lifting, gaining proficiency with each landing.
It began stepping toward Jié Jié.
“Truly impressive.”
Jié Jié flapped his wings, flying skyward and retreating to avoid the Ruin City’s momentum. His gaze remained fixed on the golden threads beneath the construction materials, climbing along the construct’s “nerves” to reach its core.
By capturing the trajectory of the silk threads and correlating it with the energy source revealing the Queen Mantis’ limb activities in the “cockpit”, Jié Jié uncovered the secret of how the Queen controlled the Ruin City.
When the Queen lifted her left forelimb supporting her body, the golden thread correspondingly pulled the construct’s left forelimb upward.
The four pairs of limbs supporting her body matched perfectly with the four pairs of limbs on the construct, occasionally aided by the front limbs for smoother operation.
The principle was simple—manipulating the Ruin City akin to a puppet. However, the Queen Mantis’ ability to move the cumbersome Ruin City surpassed other beetle or horned species. Thin silk threads twisted together into thick ones could bear tremendous weight.
If one thread wasn’t thick enough, hundreds or thousands were bundled into one. With her powerful silk-spinning capability and resilient threads, anything was possible.
Referencing the Queen Mantis’ method, connecting excellent construction materials with silk threads as muscular connectors, paired with immense strength, made driving merely the final brute-force step.
Besides regular attack methods, the Queen positioned at the core also directed her silk-shooting eyes forward, firing golden silk pillars as long-range attacks.
Interesting.
To study the moving Ruin City, Jié Jié didn’t enter a fighting frenzy. He even flew ahead and got hit by the silk pillar.
Upon impact, the sticky silk adhered and restrained the opponent, preparing for subsequent stomping?
Even if this Ruin City was mainly made of bricks and bones, it didn’t stop Jié Jié from imagining the weight of a metallic Ruin City’s stomp.
With the method established, only the form of the Queen Mantis was missing!
The intelligence of the Queen Mantis detected something amiss.
Previously, except for the original template of the Ruin City and large insects, any small monsters encountering the Ruin City should have fled immediately.
As a construct, the Ruin City held no value for consumption. Its massive size triggered instinctual judgments of immense power among monsters, leaving little opportunity for actual combat.
Though sensing something wrong, it wasn’t yet time to flee in disarray!
She was the Queen Mantis destined to surpass her mother’s Ruin City!
Her front claws and limbs pulled the silk threads upward, raising the heavy limbs of the construct.
Rational observation ended, flames suppressed on Jié Jié’s body began to radiate, instantly burning off the silk threads.
Watching the Ruin City’s limbs slowly rise, his body started to rapidly swell.
The Queen’s claws and limbs fell, and following inertia, the Ruin City’s front legs heavily slammed down onto Flame King Dragon.
The strike landed solidly, but before the Queen could feel joy, a drastic change occurred in her perception.
An alarming sense of danger.
Outside the cockpit, the Ruin City was directly flipped over, kicking up clouds of dust.
“Heavy…”
Jié Jié growled, looking down at the fallen construct from the perspective of Giant Halberd Dragon.
After falling, the Ruin City malfunctioned, nearly collapsing under its own weight.
The giant beast assembled from silk and ruins was not true life. The Queen Mantis could only manage the lifting and stomping of limbs, incapable of controlling the almost-collapsed Ruin City to stand back up.
Facing a true Ultra-Large Monster, this Ruin City resembled an egg hitting a rock.
No reaction came from the Golden Cocoon in the core, but energy perception captured the Queen Mantis’ rage within.
She continuously lifted her limbs and pulled the silk threads, trying to make her throne stand again, but the fallen Ruin City only wobbled.
“Crack!”
The aged bricks shattered under the Giant Halberd Dragon’s trample, and the thick golden silk was effortlessly torn apart by the scorching claws.
The Ruin City was disintegrating.
“To be honest, dismantling others’ stuff really gets you going, but this is my gear!”
Jié Jié remarked, the Wing Claw of the Giant Halberd Dragon piercing through the Ruin City’s structure, hooking his Strike Dragon Gun.

When you see a mighty male fire dragon soaring through the sky, you can't confidently say it’s truly a fire dragon—because it might have been a rare silver fire dragon before you noticed it.
If you suspect it was a silver fire dragon, it could have been a spinosaurus even earlier.
When someone tells you it was once a spinosaurus, you still can’t be sure—because before others saw it, it might have been an elder extinction dragon.
You may feel certain it’s a flying dragon by now, yet you can't assert that either—because underground where you can't see, it might actually be an ancient mountain dragon.
So, what is it really?
In the beginning,
It was just a hairy spider.
