Chapter 301: Two Girls Fight Over a Guy
Qin Shili met Ling Meng once again, recalling their last encounter was at the Sacred Altar.
Times have changed; Ling Meng’s identity was no longer the same.
Last time, she followed Lin Nuo’s orders, disguised herself in plain clothes, and appeared at the Sacred Altar as Udon.
Now, with heavy makeup and wearing a dark purple dress, she had reclaimed her title as the “Young Master” among the Refining Demon Sect disciples.
Not only had she regained her status, but her power had also surged; she had become a leader in the area.
With Ling Meng’s transformation, Qin Shili could hardly recognize her, but upon hearing her shout “Master,” it seemed like a memory flickered back.
U Ying Ge Lin Nuo’s disciple, Udon.
Seeing the nearby immense craters, Qin Shili concluded that a fierce battle must have taken place here.
As for why Lin Nuo had collapsed, she was unsure, but noticing his weakened state meant she needed to take him back.
The Refining Demon Sect disciples across from her seemed to take advantage of the situation, possibly intent on targeting Lin Nuo.
Lin Nuo couldn’t be taken away by the Refining Demon Sect; who knew what they would do to him? As the light of righteousness, Lin Nuo must not fall into the hands of beasts.
Qin Shili sternly warned Ling Meng, channeling her spirit energy and preparing to fight.
Of course, Ling Meng recognized Qin Shili, as she had heard of her being Lin Nuo’s Second Martial Sister during their time at the Sacred Altar.
At the Sacred Altar, several of Lin Nuo’s female peers had come, but he hadn’t shown up, which was quite regrettable.
Qin Shili possessed immense strength; during the near breach of the Sacred Altar, she had arrived just in time, utilizing her Ice Spirit Technique to help the altar’s warriors avert disaster. Moreover, amongst her peers at Xuanyun Sect, she ranked the highest in cultivation.
Even so, Ling Meng didn’t back down.
After all, she couldn’t let this woman named Qin take her master away.
Her master had said that she would be the future leader of the Refining Demon Sect; she had to have confidence and not fear strong enemies.
Besides, she was destined to face Qin Shili; it was only a matter of time.
Ling Meng shouted angrily:
“小修士,我来跟我师父团聚,与你何关?你若要阻拦,莫怪我不客气。”
As she began gathering her Demon Soul Power, a strong wave of Demon Qi emanated from her, filling the air with intensity.
“Young Master, let us handle this cultivator.”
“Step back, this is my dispute with her.”
Ling Meng furiously barked at her subordinates, who had no choice but to retreat.
“Very well, Demon Disciples.”
Qin Shili had already unleashed a Chill Air around her, facing her opponent’s demonic practitioner without a hint of fear.
After all, she had dabbled in demonic techniques; though only a superficial understanding, it had changed her perception. Many people demonized these techniques, but that wasn’t wholly accurate.
Perhaps it was this knowledge that made her aware of Lin Nuo’s good intentions.
Only by nearing the abyss could one better aspire toward the sky.
Strong spirit energy intertwined in the air, powerful forces converging like a ticking time bomb, seemingly on the verge of eruption.
Lin Nuo, who should have been momentarily unconscious from the side effects of the Explosive Pill, had awakened due to his villainous instincts about the crisis.
As soon as he regained consciousness, he felt the powerful spirit energy wildly fluctuating in the air.
What’s happening?
Still retaining a smidgen of strength, he barely managed to lift his head.
Whoa, who are these two beauties?
One is a sultry and enchanting heavenly demon, and the other is an aloof and stunning ice beauty.
He recognized Qin Shili, but who was the other beauty?
So familiar, but where had he seen her?
Hmm? Isn’t that…?
Udon!
No, more accurately, it should be Ling Meng.
Back when he had brought her along, she had been in simple clothing, barefaced or lightly made-up, but she was naturally beautiful. Now, having returned to the Refining Demon Sect, she focused on her image—her heavy makeup made her look strikingly stunning.
Why has she come here?
What are they planning to do?
Sensing the heavy tension in the air, Lin Nuo realized the severity of the situation.
This was an encounter between righteous cultivators and evil demon disciples; the forces were almost like sworn enemies—where enemies meet, it’s bound to get bloody. This could escalate badly.
Time to slip away.
Lin Nuo attempted to do just that, but quickly gave up on the idea.
He felt absolutely drained, and lifting his head to catch a glimpse of the beauties was already his limit.
In an instant, both sides struck. Ling Meng unleashed a wave of demon energy, while Qin Shili responded with a blast of chilling spirit energy, their waves crashing into each other.
Boom!
A strong explosion occurred, though the clash was somewhat distanced from Lin Nuo. Nevertheless, the overwhelming force sent him soaring into the air.
Lin Nuo: “…”
Can you two fight somewhere else, like a training room? Why am I the one getting hurt in your battle?
Lin Nuo gave up on trying to recuperate; he had no idea where he would end up flying.
But it’s alright, he probably wouldn’t die; just half-paralyzed at best.
“Master!”
In a panic, Ling Meng summoned the winds to lift herself into the air, trying to catch Lin Nuo.
Qin Shili had held back before; if she had unleashed her full chilling wave, Lin Nuo would have been frozen to death.
But now Lin Nuo was still in trouble, hurtling toward the ground.
Qin Shili immediately leaped up, her shoes forming an icy staircase as she ran toward the sky.
“Don’t touch him.”
Qin Shili swung her ice sword down, and the frosty sword energy struck the swirling winds, instantly freezing them.
Ling Meng wouldn’t yield, and with a powerful strike, she hit the frozen whirlwind.
The ice shattered as Ling Meng dashed toward Lin Nuo.
“Demon Disciple, prepare to die.”
As both were about to reach Lin Nuo, battle broke out, but due to their proximity, they avoided using explosive techniques.
Ling Meng also drew her sharp sword, engaging in a sword duel with Qin Shili. However, once close combat began, the difference become evident; Qin Shili’s swordplay dominated. After a few exchanges, Ling Meng made a mistake and took a hit from Qin Shili, staggering back.
Qin Shili seized that opportunity, rushing to catch Lin Nuo, but Ling Meng had a trick up her sleeve.
A gust of wind swept up from the floor, coincidentally enveloping Lin Nuo, changing his descent and quickly pulling him toward Ling Meng.
Despite taking a hit and suffering some injuries, Ling Meng had successfully diverted Qin Shili’s attention; using the wind, Lin Nuo was caught, which was quite the success.
It was a tactic learned from her master—striking from one direction to attack from another, and it worked wonders.
Seeing Ling Meng about to catch Lin Nuo, Qin Shili had also prepared a counter.
That earlier hit seemed only to have knocked Ling Meng back, but it had secretly left behind a slow-acting frostbite; the more Ling Meng used her energy, the faster her body would freeze.
Ling Meng realized this, and using her inner strength, she attempted to dispel the cold. But she couldn’t grasp the wind properly in time, and as Qin Shili broke the swirling winds, Lin Nuo continued to fall. Qin Shili immediately raced after him.
“I won’t let you have my master!”
Furious, Ling Meng unleashed even more intense demon qi, launching an incredibly powerful wave of demon energy, causing another violent explosion that sent Lin Nuo flying again.
Lin Nuo felt like he was going to be killed by these two.
