Chapter 313: The Second Moon and the Female Vampire (4k)
Robert Broheim’s scream caused all eyes in the classroom to focus on him.
The mist surging out like a tide made the students stare wide-eyed.
Robert and Wit, along with the students in front of them, hastily retreated as the mist seemed to spiral out of control.
“Stop!”
With a soft command from Professor Metia, a beam of starlight as thick as a pillar shot down from the ceiling, promptly halting the mist’s expansion.
Those nearby finally let out sighs of relief.
“Werobert, what happened?” Wit whispered.
“How should I know?” Robert said with a pained expression.
Wit: “What did you see?”
Robert: “I saw…”
Thinking about that scene, his face turned pale once more.
“Robert Broheim,”
Professor Metia had somehow appeared beside him, her hand gently supporting his shoulder.
Robert instinctively stopped speaking and looked up slightly.
Professor Metia smiled and said, “There was a small issue. During the time of light, stars surround the moon. The appearance of the second moon altered the trajectory of the stars, disrupting astrology. Therefore, what you see now is not exactly what you think.”
Her words were clear, reaching every student in the classroom, instilling a subtle sense of belief.
The students seemed to understand vaguely but felt impressed nonetheless.
Emma Maltis suddenly raised her hand.
Professor Metia gestured for her to speak.
Emma asked earnestly, “So, what we see in the mist isn’t our future partner?”
Originally, it wasn’t.
Professor Metia silently smiled and said, “In astrology, each star emits an attraction; the larger the star, the greater its attraction. When stars of equal or higher magnitude appear in the same area, they disrupt each other, affecting astrological operations. What you saw was actually the second moon.”
“You mean…”
Emma couldn’t help but glance at Dark Demon, realizing she hadn’t seen him for any particular reason.
She opened her mouth, feeling inexplicably confused.
…
As Emma sat down, most of the girls seemed to have grasped the core of her explanation.
Sarah Swati couldn’t help but think, “So, Dark Demon is the second moon Professor Metia mentioned. But why is he the second moon?”
…
However, Professor Metia herself wasn’t clear either.
She had only come up with this explanation when she noticed all the girls seeing Dark.
But upon hearing her explanation, Dark himself realized it.
“So that’s it!”
He quickly understood.
This must be due to “Bliss.”
“Bliss” is symbolized by the moon, and its presence disrupts astrology centered around the moon.
As a result, he unknowingly became the center of astrology, forming a new “stars surrounding the moon” pattern.
Because “Bliss” works particularly well on the opposite sex, most affected are females.
Of course, he could only see himself.
“In the seven deadly sins, I’ve studied ‘Pride’ and ‘Bliss’ the most. Perhaps this is the outcome!”
Thinking this, he felt somewhat pleased.
However, while Professor Metia explained this, she didn’t address the anomaly with Robert at all.
From his actions, it was evident he was deliberately preventing Robert from revealing what he saw.
This indicated that what Robert saw was likely caused by something personal to him.
Dark recalled briefly and remembered that among the nine stars Professor Metia had specifically mentioned, there were Sarah, Emma, Eudora, Rose, Robert… and of course, Lil’Eevee.
These nine were those who had shown divination talent in the current classroom.
Others still needed further development.
“I wonder which one Robert triggered? It can’t be the first divination, right?”
Dark suppressed his curiosity.
This fruit was ripe!
…
Under Professor Metia’s guidance, the students accepted the anomaly as a result of the second moon’s appearance.
Even Robert began to calm down, half-believing it.
When Wit asked him again, he thought for a moment and tried to recreate what he saw on his homework paper.
But Professor Metia’s stern reminder to “pay attention in class” made him put down his pen hastily.
Astronomy class continued as usual.
Though the students didn’t see their “future partners” as they wished, Professor Metia achieved her teaching goal.
Thus, she moved on to explain rather than repeating the exercise.
Whenever she wanted, she could always use something interesting to capture the students’ attention.
Soon, most students set aside their initial disappointment and immersed themselves in the new lesson.
Until nine o’clock.
Astronomy class ended with the Spiral Bell Tower’s chimes.
Since today’s assignment was simple reading, the students left the classroom with pleasant moods.
They chatted and laughed as they left.
But Robert Broheim was instructed to stay by Professor Metia.
And since Robert stayed, Wit naturally didn’t leave either.
On the other side…
Dark showed no intention of leaving, so Diana and Rose waited a bit.
The last remaining were Eudora, who always asked questions after class.
These six students had different reasons for staying.
Dark chose to stay partly to taste the situation and partly because he saw traces of “Flower Cards” within the “Love Spell Array!”
Since discovering the nature of “Flower Cards” last semester, he had been searching for a method to craft them.
He had actually asked Professor Kazel for help, but each professor has their expertise, and Kazel wasn’t omnipotent.
The former maker of “Flower Cards” — Mr. Starfish from the heterodox sect — lost much of his memory after regaining consciousness.
Mr. Starfish was deeply brainwashed, and some aftereffects were hard to eliminate. Besides, he was no longer at the academy.
After failing to find a solution, Dark felt regret but didn’t dwell on it.
He currently had sufficient “Flower Card” reserves and methods to absorb “Capital Sins.” His research was progressing smoothly.
If worse came to worst, he could purchase the “Flower Cards” circulating in the academy.
The current craze for “Flower Cards” had passed, but they remained a rare collectible.
Collecting a complete set of different “Flower Cards” was quite challenging.
However, with enough effort, it was possible.
Yet, it was a temporary fix.
Far better to master the creation method of “Flower Cards” himself.
Tonight’s “Love Spell Array” reminded him of “Flower Cards.” He wanted to know the core principle of the “Love Spell Array” and attempt to derive the method for crafting “Flower Cards.”
…
Professor Metia looked at the six students left in the classroom and made no move to hurry them.
She sat at the podium and tapped the desk with her wand.
Robert walked up, head lowered.
“Robert…”
Wit hesitated for a moment and followed.
The others also gathered around with interest.
Professor Metia scanned them and said, “You may listen, but do not disclose this.”
Diana closed her mouth firmly and patted her chest.
Others nodded slightly.
Professor Metia then asked Robert, “Broheim, tell me what you saw.”
Robert struggled to recall and said, “I saw someone with red hair, pointed ears, blood patterns on their face, fangs, like a vampire…”
“A vampire?” Wit couldn’t help but ask, “Robert, why did you see a vampire? Could it be Vlad? But Vlad doesn’t seem to have blood patterns on his face.”
Robert shuddered, “No, it wasn’t Vlad. It was a female vampire! She was bending over, tearing at something. I stood there stunned when she suddenly looked up at me, her mouth full of blood! I was startled.”
Wit: “A female vampire, why did you see a female vampire?”
Robert shook his head forcefully, “I don’t know, really.”
Beside him, Dark was equally puzzled. He had considered many possibilities but never imagined Robert would see a completely unfamiliar female vampire.
This made him ask, “Do you remember seeing anyone resembling that female vampire before?”
Robert shook his head fiercely again.
Professor Metia pondered for a moment and said, “Strange, I thought you might have triggered the first divination, but now it seems not. Have you ever seen that female vampire before?”
Robert’s head was shaking almost uncontrollably.
Professor Metia hesitated, “Perhaps, have you recently read any vampire-related novels or anything else that left a deep impression? I mean, thoughts during the day lead to dreams at night.”
Robert opened his mouth, his gaze involuntarily turning to Dark, seeking his opinion. Dark nodded slightly.
Robert then said, “Recently, while playing Mana Chess with Dark, I was tormented by his use of the vampire piece, Vlad.”
Metia frowned and asked, “I wanted to ask, who is this vampire Vlad? You all seem to know him? Aren’t vampires extinct?”
Eudora silently shook her head, but no one noticed.
Robert immediately wanted to explain, but Wit pulled on his sleeve.
Dark smiled and said, “Professor, it’s our little secret.”
“Secret?” Metia sighed, “Then there’s nothing I can do. So, Robert, can you describe the female vampire you saw in detail? Preferably noting distinctive features like the pattern of blood marks?”
Robert: “Let me think.”
He took out paper and pen, rubbing his head to recall, and finally drew a strange symbol: ?.
Then he said, “The blood marks mainly concentrated on the left cheek, with a pattern like this in the middle, very dark in color.”
Professor Metia carefully examined the symbol and shook her head after a while, “Not familiar. Perhaps you can look it up in the library yourself. Anyway, this isn’t a big deal.
Maybe it’s just because your impression of vampires is strong, and this time it involved love divination.
Combining the concepts of women and vampires, you ended up seeing a female vampire.”
She then looked up at Dark and said, “In any case, that’s all for Robert’s situation. Diemon, do you have anything to say?”
Seeing the professor ask, Dark replied directly, “Professor, I want detailed information about the ‘Love Spell Array.'”
Professor Metia was curious, “Any additional purpose?”
Dark said, “I want to make a Flower Card that can show the person you’re thinking of.”
Professor Metia paused, a smile forming, “I didn’t expect you to figure it out. The ‘Love Spell Array’ isn’t much of a secret. If you need it, I can prepare some materials next week. Come get them during class next week.”
She emphasized the word “secret” heavily, hoping Dark would catch on.
But Dark pretended not to notice and thanked her, “Thank you, Professor! We’ll leave now.”
Professor Metia took a deep breath, slightly annoyed.
But she had no reason to force the students to stay, so she watched as Dark, Diana, and Rose left.
Robert and Wit also thanked Professor Metia and quickly left the classroom.
Two groups moved down the stairs one after another.
Dark, however, was deeply considering what Robert had seen.
He didn’t believe it was simply a combination of “women” and “vampire” as Professor Metia suggested.
But thinking carefully, he found no clues.
Still, he was just an outsider, and if he wanted to investigate further, it would have to be Robert’s task.
That symbol, ?… Did he really see it somewhere before?
But human memory works that way; the more you try to recall something, the harder it becomes.
Dark casually asked, “Do any of you recognize the symbol Robert drew?”
He expected no answer, but Diana glanced around and whispered slyly, “Shh, I know…”
Dark: “…”
…
Looking at Diana’s cautious yet smug expression, Dark couldn’t resist wanting to pinch her cheek.
But he restrained himself and pinched Ibut’s instead.
“Since we’re being so careful, let’s discuss this back at the dorm.”
Diana nodded hurriedly.
Then they rushed back to the Tower of Noble Academy.
Dark followed Diana into her dorm, where she climbed onto a chair and pulled a book from the top shelf of the indoor bookcase.
Title: “Three Hundred Heroes”
