Chapter 32: I Want This Rabbit Pajamas!
While Aierjisi was still playing the role of a couple with Yake in this small town, Aisi and Harker, who were searching for her in other parts of the continent, finally crossed paths.
“Harker, you traitor, die!”
Upon seeing the betrayer Harker, Aisi’s eyes turned red, and without a second thought, he unleashed a barrage of magic, trying to finish Harker off right there.
“Oh, isn’t this Aisi-sensei? Long time no see! I wonder how you’ve been these last 300 years.”
Despite being bombarded with Aisi’s magic, Harker seemed unfazed, wearing a smug expression as he taunted Aisi.
“How dare you ask that?! Tell me! Where have you taken our fellow Blood Clan members?!”
Aisi glared at Harker, recalling how the Blood Clan had completely vanished from the continent while he had been caught in a deep slumber. This was undoubtedly linked to Harker’s disgraceful betrayal.
“Who knows? Those pathetic guys who didn’t even recognize my worth? They’re like a stone on the roadside to me, Aisi-sensei; you wouldn’t bother about that, right?”
Harker laughed disdainfully, considering the Blood Clan members just as inconsequential as a mere pebble. What happened to them—whether they lived or died—was utterly irrelevant to him.
“You scoundrel!”
Hearing Harker’s words, Aisi’s temper flared, and he couldn’t resist attacking him.
“Aisi-sensei, your attacks seem a lot weaker than they were 300 years ago. Has age rendered you useless?”
Harker activated his Magic Shield, effortlessly blocking all of Aisi’s attacks while further mocking him.
“What? Why can’t my attacks break through the shield?”
Seeing all his magic deflected by Harker, Aisi felt confused. His magic should have been superior to Harker’s; why couldn’t he penetrate the shield?
“Aisi-sensei, let me teach you a simple saying today: ‘Even a three-day absence changes the way you view a person.’ Over these 300 years, I’ve been getting stronger. Ha!”
Harker unleashed dark lightning from his palms, sending it hurtling towards Aisi. Without hesitation, Aisi opened his Magic Shield.
“What?”
To Aisi’s surprise, his Magic Shield could barely hold for two seconds before it shattered upon being struck by the lightning. He personally tasted Harker’s lightning’s power, crashing to the ground with just that one hit.
“Well then, Aisi-sensei, you just lie there and soak up the sun. I still have a mission to complete, so I won’t be keeping you company.”
Seeing Aisi down and out, Harker didn’t deal any further blows. His priority was still to find Aierjisi and bring her back. Completing this mission was enough.
“Wait…”
Aisi struggled to rise but was severely injured and completely unable to move, forced to watch as Harker flew off into the distance.
Meanwhile, Aierjisi was still oblivious to her looming disaster, happily acting as a couple with Yake in the small town.
“Um, is this outfit too thin? I feel a bit unsafe.”
Aierjisi twirled in a pure white dress with straps. The shopkeeper had recommended this outfit as suitable for a girl her age. Initially, Aierjisi felt dissatisfied, but with Yake helping her, she reluctantly held back her complaints.
“Because this dress is marketed for its lightweight summer appeal. Honestly, madam, I admire how you can wear such thick clothing in this sweltering heat!”
The shopkeeper added, glancing at the heavy clothing Aierjisi had changed out of, which, despite being high-quality, was totally unsuitable for this weather.
“Um… Yake, what do you think?”
Aierjisi turned in a circle, asking Yake for his thoughts.
“Looks great, very fitting for you.”
Yake clapped and gave a thumbs up. It was worth coming to this shop owned by a friend of Kroger’s; bringing little Aierjisi here for clothes was a good decision.
“Well… since you think it looks good, then it must be good. I’ll wear this for now.”
Aierjisi didn’t quite grasp human fashion aesthetics, but since Yake, being human, thought she looked good in it, it seemed acceptable.
“No need to look further.”
Yake pulled out a gold coin from his pouch and tossed it to the shopkeeper. For a white dress, one gold coin was already more than enough.
“Eh! Great! Sir, do you want to check if you need any other clothes? I could give you a discount if you buy together!”
The delighted shopkeeper accepted the gold coin and beckoned Yake and Aierjisi to see if they needed anything else.
“Aier, is there anything else you fancy?”
Yake was only interested in that white dress. He wondered if the Little Princess had any particular likes.
“Um… I like that one.”
Aierjisi pointed at a costume on the rack. Yake followed her finger, and the moment he saw what the Little Princess was indicating, his expression turned into one of disbelief.
It was a pink and white one-piece bunny pajamas, undoubtedly designed for little girls like Aierjisi who hadn’t developed yet.
【Is this Little Princess really 1100 years old?】
Considering Aierjisi’s behavior and preferences, which were utterly those of a young girl, Yake began to doubt her real age once again.
“Shopkeeper, how much for this outfit?”
Yake pointed at the rabbit pajamas and asked the shopkeeper for the price.
“This pajama costs 5 silver coins. If you want it, just take it. That gold coin is more than enough.”
“Then we’ll take this one.”
“Alright.”
The shopkeeper skillfully took the pajamas off the rack and started wrapping them. While the shopkeeper was busy packaging, Yake and Aierjisi looked around at other clothes, thinking since they already spent a gold coin, they might as well get a few more outfits.
