A room engulfed in darkness.
Creak!
The window opened, and a small creature glowing with a silvery light moved between the blackout curtains.
“Hehehe! I’ve been waiting for this moment!”
Kiran, who had sneaked into someone’s room through the window, wore a meaningful expression.
“This is it. Everyone’s distracted by the midterm exams—it’s the perfect time for a burglary! Basic tactics, right?”
Kiran, looking smug all alone, flapped his wings and scattered silver powder everywhere.
“Alright, let’s find where this body’s wings are!”
Rubbing his palms together, Kiran rummaged around the room until his eyes gleamed upon finding something.
“Got it! My wings!”
Excitedly flapping here and there, Kiran shouted.
“With this, the dignity of the Fairy Prince will rise! Just wait and see! That fat Phoenix will kneel before my majestic appearance!”
As Kiran clenched his fists imagining Fiore bowing to him, he reached for the precious gem.
SSHHH!
Something descended before Kiran.
Realizing it was a sharp scalpel, Kiran froze.
Turning his head slowly to follow the hand holding the scalpel, he saw piercing golden eyes.
“My goodness, what an adorable moth.”
Tina smiled lazily as she retracted her scalpel.
“Not moth! I’m a fairy!”
Kiran growled furiously.
“My goodness, this is perfect.”
Tina broke into a bright smile.
“I’ve been meaning to practice dissecting fairies.”
Kiran looked in the direction Tina was staring.
He saw an inner office in the professor’s room.
It seemed someone had been in there and came out.
Through the door crack, he saw a fairy model.
Several blades identical to the one Tina was holding were embedded in the model.
Kiran’s face turned pale.
“I’ve always wanted to dissect fairies,” Tina’s face flushed.
In her excited state, she said, “Don’t worry, I’ll neatly sew you back up.”
KAAAAHHHHHHHH!
Terrified, Kiran began to flee.
With a manic grin, Tina chased Kiran, swinging her scalpel wildly around the room.
The state of the professor’s office no longer mattered to her.
Cornered against the wall, Kiran trembled.
The moment Tina raised her scalpel high…
WHOOSH!
Kiran disappeared.
“Ho ho ho! I nearly died!”
Kiran, summoned into Leo’s palms, clutched his body and shouted.
“…Why are you such a mess?”
“Some weird Elf almost dissected me, you know!”
Kiran, with tears welling up, complained.
Leo looked disdainful.
“I saw it coming since you’ve been playing around with the students.”
Sobbing, Kiran grabbed Leo’s sleeve and blew his nose with a loud POOF!
Grabbing him like a mosquito, Leo slapped his palm around.
“Comfort me! I demand comfort! You’re my father’s friend! Comfort the son of your friend when he’s crying!”
“I’ll make sure you don’t get another blow if you shut up now.”
Kiran pouted.
Looking at the sulking Kiran, Leo said, “You’d better start preparing.”
“Huh?”
Kiran flapped his wings and floated.
After glancing around his surroundings, his eyes widened and he exclaimed with awe before folding his arms proudly and raising his chin.
“Finally, the moment for this body to reveal itself before everyone has arrived!”
Kiran cheered exuberantly.
Sheathing his sword, Leo smiled faintly as he stretched out his hand toward the empty air.
WHOOSH!
A burst of crimson flames revealed a red spear.
THUD!
Leo, gripping the spear, stared determinedly at Warden and Duran.
“Then… let’s begin the real hunt.”
“Are you really going to fight all three of them at once?”
Hark’s sleepy look cleared up.
“Our Student Council President indeed has endless potential.”
Sitting cross-legged, Elina smiled innocently but looked intrigued as she turned her eyes to Leo.
Listening to that, Aina, who had been quietly watching Leo’s figure displayed on the large magic screen until now, finally spoke.
“How do you think this fight will go?”
Aina, as the first-year representative, was also seated in one of the best positions.
Upon learning she was the great-granddaughter of the former principal and the world’s greatest hero from the previous generation, Kalyn, many people approached her with interest and a desire to get closer.
Of course, there were those with ulterior motives, wanting to get close to her as the successor of Kalyn who inherited the legacy of the Sword Saint.
However, Aina remained as quiet as a doll.
Now, it was the first time Aina opened her mouth.
To Aina’s question, Elina shrugged as she answered.
“Why ask the obvious?”
Elina smirked and said,
“Leo will definitely win.”
“But the power of the three seniors is not to be underestimated either.”
It was true.
Warden summoned a Great Spirit.
The sword fight between Duran was so fast it was hard to follow with the eyes.
Even with such power, Leo fighting the second-year students who are his peers, despite his superior strength, seemed almost impossible.
At Aina’s words, Hark rested his chin in thought.
“The reason Lis, the former Student Council President who’s already graduated, passed on the position to Leo wasn’t simply for potential.”
Hark looked at Leo on the screen.
“He anticipated that Leo would catch up and surpass him in a short period of time, so he passed the Student Council President position to him.”
Hark narrowed his eyes.
“The second-years are impressive, no doubt. But if I were to fight Leo now, I couldn’t guarantee a victory. Leo Flove is a monster.”
“He’s probably hiding his ultimate move, isn’t he?”
Hark and Elina’s evaluations seemed to make Aina’s eyes widen and grip her hands tightly.
“Wow! Leo, you’re amazing!”
An admiring voice echoed.
There stood Lil, the third-year class representative who had gone to buy snacks, smiling brightly.
“Oh, Lil. Thank you kindly.”
Noticing Lil, Elina grinned as she promptly stole Lil’s snacks.
“Elina-sempai, those are mine.”
“Oh my, what a noble gesture. It suits my status.”
As Lil frowned in protest, Elina stole the snacks with her characteristic queen-like smile.
“You’re such a scumbag, aren’t you? Are you going to steal a snack from juniors?”
As Hark wagged his tongue at Elina and reached toward Lil,
he took the refreshingly delivered drinks Lil had procured using spirits.
“Hark-sempai, that was my drink…”
“Sorry, but I’m thirsty and need to wake up.”
Watching the school’s top students stealing snacks and drinks from their juniors, Riina shook her head.
“As Principal, I’m genuinely embarrassed by the two of you being the best students.”
Neither Hark nor Elina paid any attention to Riina’s words.
Having her resources stolen by her strong-spirited seniors unexpectedly, Lil slumped her shoulders and sat down.
Then she noticed Aina sitting stiffly like a doll beside her and smiled.
“Aina, are you enjoying the spectacle?”
“…Lil-sempai, how do you view this fight?”
“Leo will win. Leo’s probably hiding his ultimate move.”
Lil shrugged and predicted Leo’s victory.
Hearing these words from more experienced and stronger seniors, Aina lowered her head.
‘Then, how am I supposed to earn this person’s recognition?’
Her hands tightened.
‘Why does he gain recognition when he’s younger than me?’
She didn’t want to compare herself.
But she, an age-peer of Leo Flove, received recognition from him.
Her teeth clenched as Aina’s eyes darkened.
“Fairy?”
“Is someone summoning a fairy now?”
Shocked voices echoed from all around.
Startled, Aina looked up.
On Leo’s palm in the screen, a fairy was summoned.
Aina’s round eyes darted toward the seniors.
“The words of the seniors were right. Leo has been hiding an ultimate move. Did the three of you already know that Leo had entered into a contract with a fairy?”
Admiring Aina’s observation, but Elena, Hark, and Lil wore expressions that were peculiarly odd.
“No, no one could have predicted that.”
“Yeah, this goes beyond reasonable expectations.”
“…Whenever I see Leo, I feel like my own efforts are pointless.”
Elina’s expression was astonished, while Hark shook his head repeatedly.
Finally, Lil slouched in despair.
Aina blinked.
‘…He’s simply a cheater.’
Leo gripped ‘Lancea.’
It was one of the treasures of the Zerdinger family passed down to Leo, now acknowledged as a direct descendant.
“Kiran.”
At Leo’s beckoning, Kiran channeled magic power, and Leo’s body was simultaneously restored and covered with various defensive spells.
One of the basic principles of the three great familiars is that they are inherently powerful, but each has distinct characteristics.
The Phoenix known as the King of Flames specializes in offense.
The Pegasus, known as the Master of Lightning, specializes in mobility.
Finally, the Fairy known as the Phantom Being specializes in defense and healing, making fairies ideal for battle support.
WHOOSH!
Casually twirling his ‘Lancea,’ Leo examined Duran and Warden.
BOOM!
Flames arose from Leo, hovering in the air, as he charged toward Duran.
BOOM!
“Ugh!”
Duran’s eyes widened.
Warden approached from behind Leo, swinging his fist.
BOOM!
“…”
Warden’s face twisted. He made eye contact with the fairy in front of him.
Seeing Kiran flicking his fingers as if mocking Warden’s attempts, Warden unleashed his spirit power.
‘The b*stard’s weakness is his mana capacity!’
Warden narrowed his eyes.
‘The b*stard is maximizing the efficiency of mana usage. Not a bit wasted!’
It was an extraordinary mana control ability.
Beyond mere sense—it was an acquired skill from experience.
‘In other words, if Leo cannot fight efficiently, he cannot sustain this battle for long!’
No matter how efficiently mana consumption is optimized, there’s a limit.
‘And the b*stard is using both the Phoenix and the Fairy simultaneously!’
Even with improved fuel efficiency, rapid mana consumption remains inevitable.
‘If we just endure a bit longer…!’
Warden gripped his fists tighter.
Duran also unleashed a more intense aura.
“It seems you’re trying to wear me down.”
Leo raised his spear.
WHISH!
A wave of fire erupted around Leo.
Duran and Warden hastily retreated from the swirling flames.
“Before that happens, you two will fall.”
As Leo’s flames burned fiercely, rain started pouring from the sky.
Leo looked up.
‘Eliza?’
Leo narrowed his eyes.
‘Is she enhancing Delfinus’ abilities using spirit magic? Despite struggling to summon spirits before…now she can perform such spirit magic after summoning a spirit?’
In raw combat power, Warden is clearly superior.
However, if seen from a holistic viewpoint, Eliza’s summoning abilities are no less astonishing.
CRACK!
Duran’s lightning aura, supported by Eliza, grew stronger.
Warden switched his summoned spirit from an earth spirit to a water spirit.
Eliza had changed the battlefield conditions to favor the two of them.
‘Even while fighting Fiore, she’s able to provide such support.’
Leo tightened his grip on the spear.
‘So the first one to take down is… Eliza?’
Leo’s gaze turned toward Eliza, who was fighting Fiore in mid-air.
“Not the time to lose focus! Leo Flove!”
Warden cried out and swung his spirit-infused fist toward Leo.
Leo summoned an aura using the Breath of Aron.
A powerful aura erupted in Leo’s hand like an explosion.
BOOM! CRUMBLEE!
An impact wave created an instant rain-free zone around the two.
As Warden tried to exert more strength on his fists, seeing that Leo had blocked his attack with one hand,
“Stay down.”
Leo simply pushed Warden into the ground with a strong grip.
Using fairy magic, Kiran summoned roots from the ground that bound Warden.
WHISH!
“Ugh!”
As Warden struggled, a golden flash flickered.
CRACK!
Leo charged toward the lightning rushing toward him.
TINK!
He deflected Duran’s blade with the spear’s edge.
Thrown off balance from the immense strength, Duran’s upper body was momentarily exposed.
Duran clenched his teeth and activated his aura armor in his vulnerable state.
WHISH!
Leo’s left foot plunged directly into Duran’s chest.
“Huh?”
bl**d spewed from Duran’s mouth.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! CRACKLE! RUMBLE! THUD!
Duran flew through the air, knocking down trees before slamming into the forest.
While Duran’s face twisted in pain and he tried to rise,
THUD!
Leo re-gripped ‘Lancea.’
Flames swirled.
Among the weapons Leo possessed, excluding Dwenno’s, it was one of the most powerful.
SNAP!
The veins bulged from the grip of Leo’s hands.
WHOOOSH!
Leo hurled the spear toward Eliza.
“Ugh!”
“PEW!”
“Stop making those chicken-like sounds while charging fiercely like that!”
Fiore’s aggressive charge was enough to disorient Eliza.
‘At least it’s a good thing Fiore is still young! Still inexperienced in battle!’
Had Fiore been more skilled in combat, Eliza would not have been able to support both Warden and Duran while fighting her.
‘If we can hold on just a bit longer, there’s hope for victory!’
Eliza knew better than anyone that Leo’s greatest weakness was endurance in prolonged battles.
‘Even Leo Flove cannot instantly defeat the three of us…’
In the midst of this thought,
PEEP!
Eliza’s wind-wyvern let out a baffled cry.
Suddenly.
WHISH!
“Eh…?”
A flash of fire covered her vision.
‘I’ve… been hit.’
As Eliza spat out a mouthful of bl**d,
WHISH!
The bracelet on Eliza’s wrist flashed red briefly before going dark.
WHOOSH!
Eliza’s vision blurred, and she disappeared from the spot.
As the system declared Eliza’s defeat, the rain stopped.
Leo charged toward Warden, who had freed himself from Kiran’s spell, retrieving ‘Lancea.’
BOOM!
Fierce flames erupted.
The ground was torn apart, and tidal waves surged forth.
A golden streak of lightning shot down.
A fierce battle unfolded.
In a short and intense fight, the outcome was quickly determined.
Warden, who had already summoned a Great Spirit and fought Leo multiple times, was first judged as eliminated.
Leo flew toward the water where Duran, drifting limply, was located.
Plodding – Plodding-
Duran tried to stand, gripping his sword as he saw Leo approach.
‘Is… this it…?’
Even now, he had no sense of what to do to counter.
The gap between them was insurmountable.
The back he thought he was barely catching up to disappeared from view.
The moment Leo gave his all,
Victory or loss was decided in the blink of an eye.
Approaching the fallen Duran, Leo looked down.
Seeing no emotion in Leo’s eyes, Duran gritted his teeth.
‘What do I have to do…?’
There’s no way forward.
‘How can I possibly defeat this monster?’
WHOOSH!
Without hesitation, Leo pierced Duran with his spear.
CRACK!
The defeated Duran disappeared.
Leo returned to his starting point.
Watching the four-way battle from afar, a student swallowed dry.
“…That’s a completely monster-level fight.”
Seeing the scorched and devastated landscape, students trembled.
Nella wore a face of despair.
“How can anyone possibly defeat someone like Leo?”
