Chapter 328: Monumental Bonds.
“Truly united.”
The hunters, despite being constantly disheveled, managed to push the Queen Mantis into a cornered fight.
The scars on her shell multiplied, exposing weak points that became the hunters’ primary targets.
Especially the Katana Warrior wielding the Great Sword, whose fighting style was entirely different from the typical Great Sword warrior.
Man and blade moved as one, turning the cumbersome sword into an extension of his body, flowing like wind with attacks so fierce they didn’t seem like they came from a Great Sword. Blow after blow carved wounds into the Queen Mantis.
No weaknesses? Then create them.
Once weaknesses were established, every arrow from the archer could unleash its full potential, even embedding entire arrows deep into the wounds.
Like hyenas, the hunters displayed impeccable teamwork, tearing fragments off the Queen Mantis bit by bit.
Accumulated injuries caused the Queen Mantis to lose balance and fall flat, though she quickly rose again, her golden body now tainted with bodily fluids and dirt.
She pulled her wheel-like limbs back in and swept them out, repelling the hunters. With a powerful kick from her hind legs, the wheel spun backward rapidly.
Rapidly rolling away, the wheel remained connected by silk threads, creating distance between her and the hunters.
Realizing the difficulty of defeating her foes, the Queen Mantis returned to the Ruin City, using previously condensed silk webs to mend damaged areas, forming a golden cocoon once more before descending back into the city.
The Queen’s Ruin City stood up again.
Signal Flares shot toward the sky once more, and supplies along with cannons were dropped again by the Flying Airship.
But…
“BOOM!”
The front limb of the Queen’s Ruin City slammed down, crushing a cannon under pressure, its fiery explosion disappearing right before everyone’s eyes.
Her long neck swung around, smashing the falling supplies, raising dust clouds that blurred vision, making it hard to judge how many advantages they still had on the battlefield.
The Queen’s Ruin City stomped towards the hunters.
The hunters dodged and looked at another colossal figure on the battlefield, hoping it would repeat its earlier CG performance.
Another golden silhouette was buried within a two-legged Ruin City, its exposed abdomen spraying silk threads, which were then pulled by its limbs, sticking to the Ruin City.
“Don’t rush, don’t rush, almost ready!”
Jié Jié occasionally glanced back at the situation, just in time to lock eyes with the fleeing hunters, sensing their desperate need.
The hunters naturally didn’t understand Jie Jie’s meaning—how could they not be in a hurry?
Facing Ultra-Large Monsters, apart from military weapons, they could only engage in close combat.
Old Mountain Dragon was slow, Peak Mountain Dragon moved quietly, and while the current Ruin City was bulky, its movements were extremely swift, targeting them as the main objective, leaving no opportunity for surprise attacks.
Besides individual trampling, countless silk pillars shot out from the core of the Ruin City, sweeping across all directions—being hit would be disastrous.
The Katana Warrior jumped onto the foot of the Queen’s Ruin City but was kicked flying off, dragged away by the Chief Hunter.
The Archer’s actions were blocked by the silk pillars, stuck struggling on the ground for a long time, nearly getting crushed.
They needed time to figure out how to break through the Ruin City, but what they lacked most now was time.
“Alright, alright, alright!”
Jie Jie rushed into his Ruin City’s cockpit, controlling the reactivated Ruin City to charge towards the Queen’s Ruin City.
Having discarded much structure in previous battles, the Ruin City seemed lighter, delivering a faster and more effective impact that made the Queen’s Ruin City stagger.
The Queen’s Ruin City paused momentarily, as a silk thread pulled a Strike Dragon Gun towards Jie Jie’s Ruin City.
“Hmm, so you want to play this way?”
His Ruin City wasn’t going to be taken down by some old Strike Dragon Gun, but if this is how we’re playing—
Jie Jie blasted open the cockpit ceiling, extending control wires to reach the platform on the Ruin City’s back, transferring the cockpit to an open-air platform.
While pilots are typically more vulnerable, for him, it felt like transitioning from controlling the Ruin City to fighting alongside it.
“Let’s show them our monumental bond!”
A new silk thread shot out, tugged by the mantis arm.
A giant Strike Dragon Gun used against the Peak Mountain Dragon was pulled from the tail compartment, adjusted and positioned on the Ruin City’s back, ready to fire.
I may not have as many Strike Dragon Guns as you, but mine is bigger, thicker, and newer!
“That Strike Dragon Gun…so familiar.”
The female Archer muttered, this model should have left a strong impression in her memory.
Before she could recall, Jie Jie ended his showcase, pulling the Peak Mountain Dragon Strike Dragon Gun and swinging it towards the Queen’s Ruin City.
“POW!”
Although it failed to destroy the Queen’s Ruin City joints, it pierced through, lodging itself there and knocking off several parts.
The Queen’s Ruin City lifted its head high, directly aiming at Jie Jie who was exposed outside.
OAO!
“This is the moment to display a super pilot’s technical prowess!”
Facing the direct attack, Jie Jie tightened the silk threads, putting the Ruin City into a stable defensive stance, while he himself chose to raise the mantis arm.
One punch!
“Eh?”
Kempe couldn’t help but let out a bewildered murmur, and the figure of the male Queen Mantis disappeared under the Ruin City’s head, perhaps squashed into meat paste.
Is that it?
“POW!”
Suddenly, the metal head of the Queen’s Ruin City exploded, scattering everywhere, and atop the two-legged Ruin City, the male Queen Mantis reflected sunlight.
Golden brilliance, dazzling gold.
The headless Queen’s Ruin City’s neck shook, lifting its side limbs to kick and collide with the two-legged Ruin City.
The two-legged Ruin City wobbled, seemingly about to fall backward.
But the golden figure swung over, pulling hard between the two Ruin Cities, stopping the wobble mid-motion before returning to the driver’s seat.
This is the power of a pilot!
Jie Jie pulled one of the many silk threads, and a loud metallic sound came from the back of the Queen’s Ruin City.
This silk thread was connected to the fired Strike Dragon Gun!
Under violent pulling, the penetrated area suffered secondary damage, more parts were torn out, and a large hole opened on the side.
“Captain.”
The female Archer pointed at the two-legged Ruin City and looked at Kempe, confirming the next tactic through eye contact.
Previously, the Archer found the best timing while on the two-legged Ruin City; it would approach the Queen’s Ruin City during battle, its massive tail hanging on the ground, always an excellent climbing spot.
As for the male Queen Mantis on the Ruin City’s back, they didn’t need direct contact—they could wait for opportunities elsewhere on the Ruin City.
They approached the tail of the Ruin City and began running upward, reaching the top to find the male Queen Mantis turning its head to look at them.

Status: Ongoing
When you see a mighty male fire dragon soaring through the sky, you can't confidently say it’s truly a fire dragon—because it might have been a rare silver fire dragon before you noticed it.
If you suspect it was a silver fire dragon, it could have been a spinosaurus even earlier.
When someone tells you it was once a spinosaurus, you still can’t be sure—because before others saw it, it might have been an elder extinction dragon.
You may feel certain it’s a flying dragon by now, yet you can't assert that either—because underground where you can't see, it might actually be an ancient mountain dragon.
So, what is it really?
In the beginning,
It was just a hairy spider.
