Chapter 33

After leaving the school building, we started walking toward the dormitory.

Then, we saw a group of people gathered at the foot of the hill leading to the dormitory.

Actually, it was a scene we had seen before.

“Again?”

“They don’t get tired of it, huh… even though they did the same thing last week…”

Ilmera and Noel sighed in exasperation.

“Haa… I’m going in,”

Ilmera sighed but jogged over to Toko.

We followed after Ilmera.

“There you guys are again…”

Mathias looked at us and spoke in a disgruntled tone.

“Clearly, those are our lines. Toko, did you do something?”

“Not at all.”

Toko replied calmly and coolly.

“Mathias, you’re in the way.”

Yuika complained.

“Huh? You’re still here, you idiot?”

“I’m not an idiot.”

Oh no…

“An idiot who doesn’t even realize they’re an idiot. Truly foolish.”

“Mathias, are you maybe trying to start a fight? Because I’m in.”

Yuika exudes a murderous intent.

“Stop it.”

I grabbed Yuika’s shoulder and pulled her back.

“Why are you stopping me?”

“Just stop, alright. There’s no point in fighting someone like this. Whether you win or lose, it’ll just leave a bad taste in your mouth.”

“Hmph…”

Yuika was clearly dissatisfied but retracted her murderous intent.

“Hmph, that guy over there seems to know his place. You Japanese shouldn’t meddle in things you don’t understand, XXXX.”

“Huh?”

Toko glared at Mathias who had just let out a discriminatory remark, with a look unbecoming of a young lady.

“What? La Folle? Speaking of which, you’ve got the same kind of Asian features, haven’t you? The La Folle family marrying into a country with only inferior wizards like Japan… grk!”

Mid-sentence, Mathias was sent flying backward.

“What are you doing!? That’s it, you—?”

Mathias, who landed on his bottom, screamed at me, who had kicked him with my right leg.

“Tsukasa, weren’t you the one who just told us to stop?”

“If winning or losing will leave a bad taste, maybe just kicking them out of the way is better.”

Insulting one’s parent is unacceptable.

“I’ll kill you, you inferior being!”

“Good. Bring it on. Be prepared to lose an arm though.”

“Nagase, don’t do anything unnecessary.”

Toko tried to intervene.

“It’s not irrelevant to La Folle.”

“Yeah, Mathias is selling me a fight here.”

“I sold you one first. Step aside, idiot.”

“Idiot? You, the one who can only use reinforcement magic, step aside, alright……?”

Toko, who was glaring at me and about to complain, paused her words and looked puzzled at her feet.

After confirming what had fallen, she slowly turned her gaze toward Sharl.

Sharl had thrown her a glove.

“Pr—President!”

“What’s going on…?”

The underlings around were surprised and looked at Sharl.

“Hmph… very well then. Crush her!”

Toko glared at Sharl.

“Uh… forgive me, but what just happened?”

I asked Noel quietly.

“The president challenged Toko to a duel.”

Noel quietly explained to me.

“The glove is a challenge to duel?”

“That’s right.”

Hmm… so what’s Sharl thinking!?

Just as I stared at Sharl, I felt something hit my stomach.

Looking at my feet, I saw a white glove lying there.

“What? Did you also challenge me to a duel?”

I asked Mathias who threw the glove.

“That’s right. I will never forgive you disgracing me like that.”

“Hmph… well, I expected it would come to this anyway, so fine. Come on.”

I waved Mathias over.

“Not here. The training ground.”

The training ground?

Ah, that place where you can’t die or get hurt due to magic, right?

“Let’s go there. What’s the point of a duel where no one can get hurt? Just come already.”

“Huh? What are you saying? It’s obvious it’s the training ground.”

“What are you talking about? A duel isn’t a game, you know.”

The training ground…

“Tsukasa, stop it.”

“Tsukasa, I understand how you feel, but didn’t I teach you that combat outside of the training grounds is strictly forbidden? You’ll get expelled otherwise.”

Ilmera and Frank tried to hold me back.

“Hmm… so the training grounds, huh. Let’s go then.”

Expulsion would be a bit inconvenient.

There’s also the matter of the bracelet, and my mother would cry.

“I’ll have to commend you for that much guts. I’ll teach you inferior beings the difference in strength.”

Mathias and I started walking towards the training ground.

“Uh… the training ground is for second years…”

Noel said, causing Mathias and I to stop.

“Oh, that’s right.”

“Tch! Is it for second years?”

Even we can’t disrupt class.

“If you want to duel, do it on the weekend. The teachers will supervise on the weekend.”

Supervision?

Ah, is that because it’s a duel? I thought it would be bad for the teacher to get involved just because it feels like a fight…

“Alright. Hey, what’s your name?”

Nodding at Frank’s words, Mathias asked.

“I’m Nagase Tsukasa.”

“Tsukasa, huh. Saturday noon at the training ground. Got it?”

Saturday…

The study session with Sharl will… oh well, Sharl too…

“Fine. One o’clock in the afternoon. It’s better not to eat. You’ll throw it up.”

“What an interesting thing to say.”

Mathias glared at me.

“President, is that okay with you?”

Toko asked Sharl for confirmation.

“That’s fine.”

Sharl nodded, turned on her heel, and ascended the hill with Mathias and the others.

“Toko, is that alright?”

Ilmera asked Toko.

“It doesn’t matter. I’ll buy the fight that was sold to me.”

Saying this, Toko ascended the hill to return to the dormitory.

Then, everyone who was left looked at me.

“Is Mathias strong?”

“You don’t know?”

“How can he even sell fights?”

Frank and Cedric looked at me, amazed.

“I won’t forgive anyone who insults my family.”

And I kicked them.

“Hmm… well…”

“I get why you’re mad, but…”

Frank and Cedric looked like they were trying to say something.

“I think it’s fine. Crush that annoying Mathias with your brute strength.”

“I wanted to do it myself!”

“Please go easy on him…”

The girls reacted in three different ways.

I think their personalities really come through.

As Tsukasa awkwardly navigated his way through the new school year, he accidentally ended up wearing a cursed bracelet that would kill him if left alone. The curse was so powerful that even his mother, a skilled curse breaker, couldn’t lift it.
