Chapter 33: It’s Fake, You Know
“By the way, I want to ask about those cat ears and tail.”
Looking at the features that only catgirls have, Aierjisi was a bit curious—could those be fake too?
“Well, they are all fake, you know. I just thought they were cute, so I wore them.”
Mios took off the cat ears from his head and the cat tail from his backside, revealing his true appearance.
“Ah, I was wondering if they were fake? Turns out they really are…”
Aierjisi had been pondering when some unknown species appeared in this world, but it turned out to be a disguise. That eased her mind.
“That’s right, they’re fake! But so what? As long as they look cute, that’s enough, right? By the way, why don’t you try them on too?”
Mios put the cat ears back on his head and pulled out another pair of cat ears to give to the Little Princess.
“I’ll pass. I’m not interested in stuff like that. Sorry, but you can keep them.”
Aierjisi immediately declined with a serious tone. Letting herself wear cat ears? What a joke!
“Are you shy? Come on, give it a try! A cute girl like you would be wasting her cuteness if she didn’t!”
Mios wasn’t going to give up easily, insisting he wanted to put those cat ears on her.
“Really, it’s not necessary. Just keep them yourself, thanks.”
Seeing the determination in his eyes, Aierjisi reached out and grabbed his wrist, pushing his hand back.
“No way! I have to see how cute you would look with cat ears on!”
Aierjisi was strong, but Mios, being from a knight family, wasn’t weak either, and he started to gain the upper hand in their strength contest.
“That’s enough, Mios. If she doesn’t want it, don’t force her.”
Gaia could no longer stand watching and urged Mios to end his antics.
“Uh, sorry. I didn’t mean to pressure you into wearing them when you clearly didn’t want to. My bad.”
Hearing Gaia’s words, Mios realized how unreasonable he had been.
“It’s fine, really. I don’t actually hate cat ears, they just don’t suit me that well.”
Aierjisi took a step back, letting Mios know that she didn’t really dislike cat ears.
“Really? I think it’s better to try them on first. If you think they don’t suit you later, you can just not wear them again. Come on~”
“Um…”
At that moment, Aierjisi realized her hands had somehow started to move on their own, bringing the cat ears closer to her own head.
“See? Doesn’t that suit you quite well? What do you think, Gaia?”
Mios smiled as he looked at Aierjisi wearing the cat ears, glancing over to Gaia for his opinion.
“I think it looks great on you! It really matches a girl like you perfectly.”
Gaia gave a positive review. After all, how could there be a girl who didn’t look good in cat ears? They were made to grab attention!
“Really? I just feel it doesn’t suit me at all.”
Aierjisi couldn’t see her current appearance, only imagining how she must look with cat ears on, and just the thought made her… no way!
“Absolutely! If you don’t believe me, take a look for yourself.”
Mios pulled out a hand mirror and handed it to her so she could see her reflection.
“Let me see. Yikes! Why is this girl so cute? I want to marry her!”
Even though she had imagined what she looked like in her mind, seeing herself in the mirror caused Aierjisi to lose it.
After all, she had chosen a character that hit her sweet spot when playing games, and now, seeing herself with cat ears was enough to send Guanyu into a frenzy.
“Alright, calm down a little. What do you mean marrying yourself?”
Gaia couldn’t take Aierjisi’s nonsense anymore. While she definitely looked cute, she still couldn’t compare to his wife, Ailin.
“So I told you, you totally suit those cat ears! How could such a cute girl not match with cute cat ears?”
“Yeah, it seems my earlier feeling of it not suiting me was wrong. By the way, these cat ears aren’t made from real cat ears, right?”
Aierjisi took off the cat ears and touched the fabric, feeling it was just like real cat hair. After all, this world didn’t have the same level of imitation as Earth.
“How could that be? These cat ears are just made with other techniques—we wouldn’t really use real cat ears for these things!”
Mios was clearly amused by Aierjisi’s earlier thought. Seriously, who would think of using real cat ears to create these fake cat ears? Who could bring themselves to do that to such adorable kittens?
“I guess so. I was overthinking it.”
In this world, magic had simply replaced technology from Earth. Anything technology could do, magic could theoretically achieve too. So creating replicas like cat ears was a breeze. Imagining they might be made from real cat ears? Ridiculous!
