Chapter 33: No Way, I’m Going to Fight You
“Eh? You guys are already up? Didn’t they say you needed to rest in bed a bit longer?”
In the dining hall, Aierjisi looked at Weirafiya and the other two who had been injured in battle, surprised to see them here.
“It’s just some minor injuries; we’ve mostly recovered. Besides, it’s just a meal in the dining hall. Isn’t it an easy thing? Why do you make it sound like we couldn’t even make it here?”
“Because I thought your injuries were serious! Looks like I was worrying for nothing. I can’t believe you all healed that quickly and are already here for dinner!”
Aierjisi truly hadn’t expected their recovery to be so fast. She initially thought they’d be bedridden for about a week before coming to eat, and her worries turned out to be completely unnecessary.
“Well, we can’t just sit in bed forever, can we? To speed up our recovery, we drank some potions,” Gaia explained, revealing the secret to their quick healing. Healing naturally would indeed take a lot longer, but using potions sped things up significantly.
“Oh right! I almost forgot about potions! You guys could’ve just asked me if you needed some; I still have plenty of recovery potions here!”
Being a member of the Blood Clan, Aierjisi had particularly strong self-healing abilities and rarely needed recovery potions, almost forgetting they existed. If Gaia hadn’t mentioned it, she wouldn’t have remembered at all.
“Forget it, forget it! We’re in the Royal Palace, after all! You should try our potions first. Yours are really good, but what if you run out and can’t get them during an actual emergency?”
After all, Aierjisi’s potions were limited; using one meant one less for later. It was better not to use them unless absolutely necessary.
“You’ve consumed your potions already? No worries; I can make more! I know the recipes,” Gaia assured.
“Let’s not, shall we? You’re the guest here; it would be too much trouble to make potions for us.”
Gaia still refused Aierjisi’s kindness. While the palace potions might not match his in effect, with careful handling, they could help heal properly.
“Alright then… Since you don’t want my potions, I won’t push it.”
Aierjisi decided not to insist further, which worked out since she had forgotten about it anyway. She could take this time to brew more potions and stock up just in case the moment of crisis came.
“It seems like your recovery speed is quite impressive; you’re nearly back to full strength already.”
【?!】
A man suddenly appeared right next to Aierjisi, startling her.
What’s happening? When did this guy show up? I didn’t notice at all!
Not just Aierjisi, but everyone in the room was shocked by the man’s sudden appearance, completely oblivious to how he had sneaked in.
“Uh… this food actually tastes pretty good; what’s it called?”
The man didn’t seem to care about their fright and casually picked up utensils, wolfing down Aierjisi’s dinner without a second thought.
“That’s called scallop pasta… By the way, when did you arrive? How did we not notice you?”
Gaia asked nervously. The man’s strength was slightly absurd, able to appear so stealthily in front of such powerful individuals.
“Me? I just got here. As for why you didn’t notice me, it’s simple. Do you notice the wind when you’re eating? Probably not.”
The man continued talking in a way they couldn’t quite comprehend. Regardless, he had come to check on their recovery, but was sidetracked by the delicious aroma of food.
“I say… that pasta you just devoured was mine!”
Aierjisi complained, discontent that he had devoured her dinner without even asking.
“What’s the big deal? You’re my apprentice, so your dinner is my dinner. What’s the problem?”
The man really didn’t care whose meal he had just consumed. To him, they were all apprentices, so what did it matter?
“There’s a big deal! Could you at least respect your apprentice? Can you ask before gobbling up your apprentice’s food?”
Aierjisi’s opinion of him plummeted further. After all, she was still a princess. No one had dared treat her like that; anyone who touched her things had to ask for her permission first, even her Father King! And yet, this man just went for it without a second thought; how rude!
“Alright, alright, Aierjisi! Don’t be too mad. I’ll have the chef whip you up another plate,” Gaia interjected, sensing Aierjisi’s mood was rapidly souring, ready to blow up at the man.
“It’s only reasonable; the King is much more sensible than a certain immature Little Princess!”
“Hey! Who are you calling immature?!”
Just when Gaia was about to calm Aierjisi down, the man dropped that tactless remark, reigniting her simmering anger.
Nope, she couldn’t hold it in anymore; she had to teach this guy a lesson today!
