Chapter 353

Comet Hall.

The building located at the center of Seirun.

However, this place was not merely symbolic of being at the center of Seirun.

It was the repository of numerous magical legacies left behind by the Comet Wizard.

And it was also where the history Seirun had amassed until now lay dormant.

Originally, this was not a space easily accessible even to students, let alone outsiders.

But today, it was opened for the academic conference held at Seirun.

As a result, the attending wizards could hardly conceal their excitement.

“The Hall of Comets.”

“I never would have imagined I’d get to see the magical legacies left behind by the Comet Wizard with my own eyes.”

Five thousand years ago, Seirun, the progenitor of the Star Cloud after Luna, was evaluated as the greatest wizard since.

She was not merely a sole idol of the Elves.

Just as Luna was the respected figure of all wizards, Seirun, appraised as Luna’s successor who reinterpreted and passed down her legacy, was deeply revered by wizards.

“The opening of the Hall of Comets during the conference is due to the consideration of Acting Principal, LeHagen.”

Orlen calmly spoke to the conference attendees as they entered the Hall of Comets.

“The guides for the Hall of Comets will be the students of Seirun. I hope this becomes a time to appreciate the value of the magical legacies left by the Comet Wizard.”

Upon hearing this, the wizard attendees were all shocked.

It was a well-known fact that the current Acting Principal of Seirun, LeHagen, was an Elf supremacist, making his decision to disclose the legacies of Seirun to external wizards quite unexpected.

The Seirun students were attached to the wizards for the conference.

In reality, they were more of supervisors to ensure no mischief was done under the guise of being guides.

“Hello, my name is Eiran Eresar, and I will be your guide.”

Eiran stood before Professor Anna and student Leo and politely introduced herself.

‘Eiran Eresar.’

Eiran’s presence made Professor Anna reflective.

‘Renowned as an overwhelming skilled magi-swordsman.’

Given Eiran’s standing as the second-ranked student in the second year of their rival school, Professor Anna had done substantial research on her.

‘Her performance in last year’s Ruse Tournament was quite impressive. According to Professor Halind, she shares a considerable bond with student Leo…’

“Le, Leo-sir. It’s an honor to be your guide.”

Eiran’s face turned red as she bowed her head and timidly spoke.

Seeing this, Professor Anna covered her mouth.

‘Oh my. What a world.’

Upon seeing Eiran’s obvious affection for Leo, Professor Anna couldn’t help but exclaim inwardly.

Leo said to Eiran, viewing her behavior,

“I entrust my time to you.”

“Yes!”

Eiran replied cheerfully, stepped forward, and asked,

“Where would you like to start?”

“I would like to begin with the original magic book written by the Comet Wizard.”

“Absolutely! I will guide you to the library then!”

Eiran started leading the two.

Behind her, Professor Anna nudged Leo’s arm.

“You are fortunate, Leo student. Passing through such a youthful school life.”

Leo looked at Professor Anna in confusion at her words.

“Student Eiran seems to have feelings for you, Leo student?”

Professor Anna said with a somewhat mischievous grin,

“Isn’t it the dream of many young men? To find that a beautiful and blooming young lady has feelings for them. Such is the charm of youth.”

“Professor Anna makes it sound like there is no youth left for her.”

Leo chuckled slightly.

Upon seeing this, Professor Anna smiled and said,

“Go ahead, tell me. Isn’t it known that you are quite popular amongst the girls at Lumeran as well? You get almost as many love letters as students Abad and Duran, don’t you?”

‘Love letters?’

Eiran, walking ahead, perked her ears.

“Also popular with the underclassmen, right? And senior students also show interest in you, Leo student.”

Professor Anna teased with a subtle smile, gently tapping Leo’s side.

“Have you ever been in a relationship?”

‘A relationship?!’

Eiran’s face instantly flushed red.

Seeing her reaction, Professor Anna chuckled.

“Elven maidens are indeed innocent. To be this flustered by even the mention of romance.”

‘…Perhaps what’s going on in her mind goes beyond mere romance.’

Leo chuckled nervously.

“I’m too busy with studies to have time for relationships.”

“To say such uninteresting words like a straight-A student.”

Professor Anna looked bored, but Eiran was relieved.

“How can you not have interest in the opposite s*x? You’re still a teenage boy, Leo student.”

“If I were to start a relationship with the students, it would feel like committing a crime.”

“Crime?”

Confused, Professor Anna looked at Leo, who simply smiled in response.

Despite listening to the two, Eiran guided them diligently to the library.

“This is the library where Seirun’s magic books are preserved.”

“Truly, it’s Seirun.”

Professor Anna gasped in admiration.

As a wizard, it was a great honor to see the direct magical records created by a great hero of a cataclysm who saved the world.

“Do you have any questions, Professor Anna?”

With a warm smile, Eiran asked, to which Professor Anna grinned back.

“I’m fine, but you should go check on Leo student.”

“Huh?”

Professor Anna pushed Eiran’s back gently, surprising her.

Still confused but determined, Eiran approached Leo who was walking amidst the library’s bookshelves.

“This is the time. I also had such times,” Professor Anna chuckled.

“Now, I’m just a slave to that professor…”

Thinking of Ren, Professor Anna sighed. At that moment,

“Excuse me… Are you Professor Anna from Lumeran?”

Someone cautiously addressed her.

‘First-year students from Seirun?’

Professor Anna looked puzzled.

Not only outsiders but this time, students of Seirun itself were permitted for guided visits to the Comets’ Hall.

Students not attending the conference were grouped in classes and were also visiting the hall.

First-year lower-class students were no exception.

“Name is Angur Bizan.”

Angur bowed gently as a representative and then continued,

“Senior Leo asked us to definitely thank you when we saw you.”

Seeing the beaming Angur, Professor Anna exclaimed in shock,

‘Ah, these must be the students who received tutoring from Leo student this time.’

The lower-class students, whose abilities had greatly improved through [The Primer of Star Magic].

Recalling the names given in the data transmitted by Leo, Anna nodded approvingly and smiled gently.

“There’s nothing to thank. I merely showed you the way; it was you who carved it out and achieved results.”

“But it was only despair before we met you. So, we wanted to thank you. Hence, here…”

Angur handed her a paper box.

Inside the paper box were numerous letters filled with gratitude towards Anna and Ren.

Even though the students didn’t know their faces, the letters were heartfelt tributes to the professors of Lumeran who had given them a chance.

As they received it, Professor Anna felt her heart stir.

“Even though there is no certainty about continuing our education at Seirun… still, we have no regrets.”

Seeing the bright smile on Angur’s face, Professor Anna gently patted her shoulder.

“Don’t worry. It will all be fine. And even if something goes wrong, I believe Professor Ren would help after receiving this letter.”

For Professor Ren, these students were vital assets who had opened new possibilities in his research.

‘He might even cause a ruckus to enroll them at Lumeran.’

Anna took a deep breath.

‘Much is at stake with this conference.’

Whether The Primer of Star Magic was deemed heresy by the Elves or if it offered a new possibility would undeniably have a massive impact on the future of the magical world.

‘Focus.’

Thud.

Leo halted his steps and reached out to pull out a magic book lodged in the bookshelves.

Seeing this, Eiran remarked,

“Most records here were written during the time Seirun was first studying magic, so few seek them out. I didn’t expect you, Leo-sama, to show interest.”

Eiran blinked in surprise and curiosity, prompting Leo to reply,

“Current wizards rely on later records to understand a wizard’s tendencies.”

After values were established, the latter records are more reliable in identifying a wizard’s tendencies.

“But I, an old wizard…”

Leo smirked.

“… believe that the early actions are what mold the wizard’s values—like a return to the beginner’s mind.”

“Certainly, you are very mature, Leo-sama. From which time period does the story stem?”

Eager like a child listening to an old tale, Eiran’s eyes sparkled.

‘5,000 years ago.’

Leo silently replied in his mind and continued flipping through the magical records Seirun penned at 10 years old.

Most Elves overlooked the records from the Comet Wizard’s teenage years in favor of studying her greatest achievement: the reinterpretation of Star Magic.

The knowledge she left behind concerning Star Magic remains incompletely understood even 3,000 years later, making it natural.

However, Leo was not particularly curious about Seirun’s interpretations of star magic influenced by Luna; he was more intrigued by pure Seirun who had not yet felt Luna’s influence.

As Leo read through the magic book, he clicked his tongue scornfully.

‘Arrogant enough to leave such a record in her own journal.’

Remembering how Seirun had referred to herself as stupid, Leo clenched his teeth.

Thankfully, she had warned only direct heirs should read the records. Otherwise, Leo might have been recorded inaccurately as someone who was deeply in love with Luna.

‘Had that been the case, I’d have strangled her the moment I saw her.’

Despite the annoyance, Leo went back to perusing the magic book while muttering curses to an invisible junior.

Even though he could teach all classes, Leo was still a single wizard.

A direct wizard’s records can reveal a lot.

‘Very unruly it seems – how typical.’

From the records, Seirun’s character was confidently filled with self-belief in her magic values.

There were no separate notes, but merely from the interpretations alone, Leo could discern her inclinations.

‘Entirely like a pancake. Quite a perfect resemblance to Luna.’

Though the records were filled with youthful arrogance, they were brimming with self-confidence.

‘Had they met, they would have fought fiercely.’

Leo smirked as he continued,

‘And later become inseparable friends, perhaps.’

Pondering, Leo put the book back on the shelf.

Believe in yourself – a fitting life lesson Seirun might have intended to leave.

Leo felt as though he had gained a slight understanding of Seirun.

‘But why did she leave such fabricated records in her journal? Even novels have to be grounded in reality, right?’

Seirun was the master of Luna’s world.

Hence, she must have had some comprehension of Luna’s feelings.

“Eiran.”

“Yes?”

“What do you think if the progenitor of the Star Cloud had liked the Hero of Beginning?”

“It’s hard to imagine.”

The usually imaginative Eiran shook her head.

“Let’s say, the pure and high Luna loving someone? It’s hard to fathom…”

“And what if the Hero of Beginning liked the progenitor of the Star Cloud?”

“Ah, a tragic love story! How dramatic!”

‘…d*mn these stupid ears for turning everything to their whims. She isn’t that noble! Not noble at all!’

Enraged at her interpretation, Leo clenched his teeth.

In the end, Seirun probably wrote what she wanted, leaving it to her descendants.

‘Once I meet her, there’ll be a kick to her backside.’

After the Comet Hall’s tour came to an end,

as the conference presentations were about to begin,

the acting principal, LeHagen, stepped forward.

“I express my gratitude to the esteemed guests who have honored us with their presence.”

He stood expressionless in Comet Hall, where the wizard’s staff ‘Cometes’ symbolizing the Comet Wizard rested on the podium before him.

The wizards were awestruck by the sight of the real Cometes.

“Through the Comet Hall, I believe we’ve all come to realize anew the greatness of Seirun.”

Following LeHagen’s speech, the conference wizards wore an unsurprised expression but did not utter a word.

Open defiance against his words would only bring fatigue, plus the undisputed greatness of the Comet Wizard was undeniable.

Any wizard would already be aware of the Comet Wizard’s grandeur without needing such emphasis.

“In this vein, before the conference starts, there’s a noteworthy discovery that Seirun would like to share:”

Everyone present looked puzzled by LeHagen’s words.

“…I officially announce the discovery of the Hero Record of the Great Hero of Cataclysm, Seirun.”

Murmurs spread throughout the conference—among the wizards and students alike, all of whom were visibly shocked.

As this was happening, Orlen walked onto the podium holding a fancy wooden box.

LeHagen’s lips curved into a slight smile.

‘If the merit of being the first to discover and announce Seirun’s Hero Record is enough, surely I can ascend as principal of Seirun.’

Though he was currently only an acting principal,

if the Pureblood Society’s sway became stronger, LeHagen believed he would ascend to the formal position.

Click!

As the box was opened, the Hero Record piece was visible within.

“This is the Hero Record of…”

Whoosh!

Suddenly, the Hero Record glowed.

LeHagen hesitated at the sight.

‘This reaction… Could it mean the opening of the Hero’s World?’

As LeHagen pondered this,

Leo’s visage hardened.

‘Is this…?’

He rose from his seat.

“Leo student?”

As Anna watched in confusion,

whoosh-whoosh-whooshh!

Black flames shot up from Seirun’s Hero Record.
