Chapter 356: Miss Extinction Dragon Gets Stuck.
Jié Jié flapped his wings and flew back to the Golden Land, carefully placing two bottles of seasoning.
Iron Pot wasn’t in the Golden Land; after adapting to the new nest, he often went out running around, then came back covered in injuries. Even without the need to fight for territory, he still enjoyed picking fights with monsters.
Nana wasn’t there either, probably off patrolling her territory.
He entered the tunnel facing north and began developing towards the Valley of Miasma.
Judging by the distance, they were almost there. The speed shouldn’t have been this fast, but a few times luck was on his side when he encountered ruined tunnels or underground hollows that other monsters had already dug, providing much convenience for excavation.
The Flame King Dragon trapped inside the Snake King Dragon’s skull might also be close to death. Last time, his condition looked really bad.
Without food or fuel stones, the Flame King Dragon had expended most of his firepower trying to break free from his cage at the start. His attempts to counterattack the miasma grew increasingly clumsy.
Being able to survive until now was already a testament to the powerful vitality of ancient dragons.
For hours, the road ahead remained unclear, but small paths suitable for monster travel began to appear.
That’s enough for now, Jie Jie thought. He transformed into a Spiny Dragon from an Old Mountain Dragon and walked for a while before entering the bottom of the Grand Canyon. He flapped his wings and flew toward the Flame King Dragon’s prison.
But when he saw the skull, he couldn’t help but slow down, shocked by what he saw.
Miss Extinction Dragon…had half of her head and part of her body stuck in the eye socket of the Snake King Dragon’s skull, with her limbs clawing desperately outside.
Clearly, she was stuck and couldn’t pull herself out. The dead Snake King Dragon…a double kill.
“Sss, you’re really persistent.”
Jie Jie landed on the Snake King Dragon’s skull and watched as Miss Extinction Dragon groaned and struggled.
For this Flame King Dragon, Miss Extinction Dragon had been stationed near the Valley of Miasma for two months now, occasionally peering through the eye socket or colliding with the Snake King Dragon’s skull trying to open it.
This time, she must have lost her cool and shoved her head straight in.
If only her head had gone in, she could’ve pulled it out herself, but she also stuck an arm in, causing her to get completely stuck.
He leaned closer, lowering his claws to poke Miss Extinction Dragon.
“Whoo hoo waa!”
Feeling the touch of something external, Miss Extinction Dragon struggled even more violently, flailing her claws and wings wildly, panicking like crazy. Her spines visibly grew longer, making the situation quite amusing.
Jie Jie flew around to the other eye socket of the Snake King Dragon and saw that Miss Extinction Dragon’s arm was pressing against her chin, which caused her horns to get stuck on the edge of the eye socket.
Miss Extinction Dragon noticed him too and tried to pull her head back, startled, but couldn’t move. She just looked miserable.
Looking down again, the Flame King Dragon lay motionless, still alive, but according to energy perception, he was like a flickering candle in the wind, dimming and brightening.
But…how did she get stuck?
Jie Jie looked up at Miss Extinction Dragon, transformed into an Extinction Dragon, hooked onto the eye socket, and poked his head in. Though he was bigger than her, he could still move freely in and out.
Seeing him transform into an Extinction Dragon, Miss Extinction Dragon was momentarily surprised, but then her eyes seemed to show a glimmer of hope.
She inserted her claw into the gap between her head and the eye socket, squeezing in one arm successfully.
Trying to pull her head back out, the joint of the inserted arm bent, pressing against her head, and her huge horns got stuck on the edge of the eye socket. She couldn’t move.
Yes, that’s how she got stuck.
The two Extinction Dragons stared at each other. Her nostrils flared, and she didn’t seem as dejected as before, emitting some mocking sounds.
“Hmm?”
Jie Jie looked at her playfully, then transformed into Queen Mantis, freeing himself instantly.
Miss Extinction Dragon stared with wide eyes, no longer smiling.
Queen Mantis crawled into the Snake King Dragon’s skull, expanded in size, transformed back into an Extinction Dragon, approached the barely breathing Flame King Dragon, and gestured as if preparing to feed.
“Roar! Aaaaargh! Whoo hoo waa!”
The Extinction Dragon above wouldn’t stand for it now, roaring warnings and struggling fiercely, but since she was stuck, her cries lacked strength. It sounded like she was complaining about her misfortune.
After three months of crouching and wanting to enter but being stuck, she had to watch him transform into someone of her own kind and eat right in front of her.
Thinking about it, her cries became even more sorrowful, touching those who heard them and bringing tears to those who saw her.
The dying Flame King Dragon was disturbed and opened his weary eyes, gazing at Jie Jie with complex emotions.
Having been trapped for so long, from desperately seeking an escape route to conserving energy for rest, and facing imminent death, he had reviewed his entire life like a slideshow and now felt nothing but acceptance.
He stood weakly, the surrounding temperature rising once more.
Seeing the Flame King Dragon like this, the stuck Extinction Dragon struggled even more, crying out continuously.
Looking at the Flame King Dragon and then at the Extinction Dragon, Jie Jie suddenly felt like he was a demon king imprisoning a princess, and the Extinction Dragon was the hero coming to save her.
And now, the demon king was going to eat the princess right in front of the helpless hero.
Sounds fun, doesn’t it?
The Flame King Dragon attacked again. Jie Jie gently pushed with his wings and sent the weakened “princess” flying and rolling a few times.
But when he turned his head and met the gaze of the Flame King Dragon getting up again, the struggling Extinction Dragon above became unimportant. He saw what appeared to be a violent old man seeking his final dignity.
Jie Jie lunged forward, directly pouncing on the weakened Flame King Dragon and exposing his vulnerable neck.
The sharp claws of the Extinction Dragon raised high and slammed down forcefully, splashing hot blood everywhere.
The Flame King Dragon closed his eyes.
At some point, the Extinction Dragon above stopped howling and hung limply on the eye socket, a few tears sliding from the corner of her mouth into the hard spikes on her arm.
Jie Jie looked at the Flame King Dragon and then at the Extinction Dragon, transforming into Queen Mantis, weaving silk threads, climbing up, and poking her head.
“Hmph!”
The Extinction Dragon let out a dissatisfied roar, glaring at him, clearly upset. Jie Jie marveled at this.
This Extinction Dragon seemed to have made great progress in wisdom. In the past, she would’ve probably rushed over to bite him, even if it meant getting stuck tighter.
If he didn’t help her now, she might actually die stuck here, defeated by the Snake King Dragon.
Experimentally swinging his mantis arms to knock her out, this aggressive gesture seemed to awaken her ferocity, and she bared her teeth again.
If he simply knocked her out this way, she probably wouldn’t understand that he was helping. That wouldn’t do!
Jie Jie exited from the other eye socket, climbed onto the back of the Extinction Dragon, wrapped her in silk threads, and started pulling with all his might.
“Aaaaooww!”
The Extinction Dragon roared excitedly. After a brief struggle, she stiffened her body to make it easier for him to pull her out.
However, her horns were stuck tightly, and the Snake King Dragon’s skull even shook slightly from the force, but the Extinction Dragon didn’t come out at all.
After another attempt, Jie Jie re-entered the eye socket and approached the Extinction Dragon. She now showed much less hostility and her eyes carried a hint of expectation.
After observing the structure where she was stuck, Jie Jie finally determined that he would have to break her horns to free her.
