Chapter 305: The Apostle
On the northern outskirts of Tivyán, outside the east gate of the Royal Sacred Crown University, lies Green Shade Town.
Late at night, inside House 17 of Green Shade Town, Dorothy, sitting in the living room, yawned widely after finishing a game of chess against herself. She glanced at the clock on the wall and muttered to herself as she stood up from the sofa, stretched lazily, and went to the second-floor bathroom. After a comfortable bath and changing into her nightgown, she walked to her bedroom, pulled back the covers, and lay down.
“Following the routine, I should go to the Dream Realm tonight… Although I probably won’t find anything, I might as well check if I can encounter Little Fox and Gregor.
“Since I last saw them, I haven’t been able to find them again. Probably because the image and status of the dragon are too high in their eyes for them to approach me directly. Sigh… although the dragon’s mimicry is indeed very imposing, it makes it difficult to speak and ask for information.”
Lying in bed under the covers, Dorothy felt somewhat frustrated as she thought about this. Her drowsiness increased, and soon she drifted off to sleep.
With practiced ease, Dorothy entered the dream world and woke up on her own bed in the dream. Without hesitation, she recited the incantation, summoning the fiery aura around herself, transforming into a giant dragon, and bursting through the house. With a roar, she opened the gateway to the Dream Realm and spread her wings, flying in. As she emerged from her dream cocoon, an endless expanse of dark, towering trees came into view.
Seeing the familiar scene, Dorothy did not hesitate. Spreading her wings, she soared among the colossal trees, enjoying the sensation of flight. The wind swept across her scales and massive wings, and the scenes passing by filled her with joy.
Although she found nothing every day, Dorothy continued to visit the Dream Realm forest at the same time each day. This wasn’t just luck; she was enjoying the feeling of flying.
As a human who had stepped onto the ground, Dorothy savored the taste of soaring through the air with her own body, even if it was only in a dream.
Like always, Dorothy spread her wings and flew among the colossal trees. Just as she was thinking about which direction to fly, a familiar howl echoed from the distance, reaching her ears.
“Awooo~”
Hearing this howl, Dorothy paused slightly. She had heard this sound before; it was Gregor’s black dog form in the Dream Realm. Last time, she followed this sound to find Gregor and the little fox in the Dream Realm. She had also helped Gregor by dealing with another black dog that was causing trouble.
“Ah, Brother Gregor is here again? And he’s calling for me?”
Listening to the sound, Dorothy immediately became interested. She adjusted her flight path and quickly flew toward the source of the sound. Sure enough, after a short while, she spotted a familiar figure—a black dog—on the grass beneath the colossal trees.
On the other side, Gregor, in his black dog form, standing on the grass, felt relieved when he saw the distant dragon flying towards him. However, as he experienced the increasingly overwhelming presence of the dragon up close, he couldn’t help but feel nervous. This was his first encounter with such a powerful ancient being.
Flapping her wings to slow down, Dorothy gently landed on the grass. The impact of her enormous body caused a tremor, making Gregor, who was already feeling pressured, take a couple steps back.
“Another meeting, little dog of the An Yin Bureau. Is it you calling for me?” With a deep, ancient tone, Dorothy addressed the small black dog in front of her, while Gregor steadied himself and responded respectfully.
“Yes, I have taken the liberty to call upon the esteemed dragon. It is due to an urgent matter that I wish to consult the dragon. Hence, I have disturbed your patrol.”
Gregor lowered himself and spoke to the giant dragon before him. Hearing his words, Dorothy was startled, then slowly continued.
“Tell me… what is it?”
Hearing the dragon was willing to listen, Gregor was overjoyed and immediately recounted his experience on the train and in the dream world. He mentioned how he fell asleep on the train and could not wake up, suspecting he was being harmed, and how the little fox was manipulating his sleepwalking to cover things up. Dorothy felt a heavy heart upon hearing this and began efficiently processing the new information.
“Gregor has already come to Tivyán? Goodness, why didn’t he write ahead to inform me? To prepare for this. Could he still be trying to surprise me? How old-fashioned.
“But let’s set that aside for now. The key point is that Gregor has been drugged and is unconscious in the carriage! Can’t wake up!? Who is targeting him? He’s just an apprentice from a remote area, not important, right? Has the train become a dangerous place for An Yin Bureau personnel?
“And that little fox, I never expected her to be a Black Tier. She can steal memories in dreams and manipulate people to sleepwalk… quite interesting. But if she’s a Black Tier, why does she still use such a weak fox form? Her fox form is even weaker than Gregor’s black dog form. A Black Tier extraordinary being should naturally have a stronger form…”
After listening to Gregor, Dorothy pondered many questions, but she knew there was no time for prolonged reflection. She asked the most critical question.
“Attacked on the train in the real world? Little dog of the An Yin Bureau, tell me the truth. Did you carry any confidential cargo or receive any special mission?”
In a dragon-like tone, Dorothy said to Gregor, who immediately gave a resolute response.
“No, esteemed dragon. I swear I am not carrying any cargo and have not received any secret missions. I was simply transferred from Igewent to Tivyán for promotion.”
Gregor affirmed with great certainty. Seeing his demeanor, Dorothy was almost certain he wasn’t hiding anything, especially in this life-or-d*ath situation.
“Puzzling, no mission and no cargo… This situation is completely different from Sodod’s case. Gregor is just an apprentice, hasn’t officially reported to the Tivyán headquarters yet. What value does he have that other secret societies see in him…”
Dorothy thought to herself, but she understood that now was not the time to dwell on these matters. The immediate priority was to help Gregor escape safely. Based on his description, the little fox’s sleepwalking wouldn’t last long.
“I understand. Considering our fate, I can help you.” Dorothy continued in a deep dragon voice, and Gregor felt a surge of relief upon hearing the dragon’s response.
“Thank you for your kindness, esteemed dragon. If needed, I will repay your favor in full in the future.”
‘I’ll treat you to more meals once we reach Tivyán…’
Dorothy replied internally, while outwardly she said,
“Your current situation is interesting. Although it’s not enough for me to personally intervene, I can still help you in other ways. I will give you an honorable name. You just need to recite it within your dream cocoon.”
“Honorable name?”
Gregor was surprised by the dragon’s words and responded with some bewilderment.
