A peaceful weekend morning should have been.
However, chaos reigned around the second-year dormitory building, far from the usual quiet.
The culprit for this disturbance was none other than the rumor of the so-called “love potion” that had spread throughout the second year by the previous day.
Of course, when the students first heard this rumor, everyone reacted with derision.
“Love potion? Where in the world does something like that exist?”
“Is it coming to this, spreading such ridiculous rumors?”
Particularly, students from the Department of Magic dismissed the idea as absurd.
Alchemy is closely related to potions. The history of alchemy parallels the history of magic.
Throughout countless years, numerous wizards dedicated their lives to alchemy.
Many attempted to create a “love potion,” one that could win a person’s heart, yet no one succeeded.
However, the story that followed was enough to cause a stir among all the students.
“Kal made it using a recipe from Lord Dwenno’s alchemy book as a reward in his world conquest?”
“Based on a recipe combined by Lord Dwenno himself?”
“Really…?”
No one less than Dwenno, the legendary Great Hero who created countless divine artifacts and ultimately devised the weapons to defeat the primal catastrophe.
Even with the claim of the recipe being from the alchemy book of such a legendary figure, most people still reacted with disbelief.
“Even so, there’s no way the alchemy book of Lord Dwenno would have instructions for something like that.”
Early in the morning, Chloe, carrying a magic book under her arm, shook her head in disbelief while walking beside Selia, who nodded in agreement.
“You’re right. Honestly, it’s strange for a God’s Blacksmith to be crafting love potions.”
The two close friends were planning to venture out into Rumelia City to enjoy their weekend when they were interrupted by excited voices.
“Where did he go?”
“He can’t have gone far! Find!”
They turned to see second-year female students frantically searching with fiery determination.
Selia and Chloe glanced at each other, then called out to a first-year female student from their former class passing by.
“What are you looking for?”
“We’re looking for Kal!”
With that, the student rushed off again.
Selia wore an expression of bewilderment.
‘This many students are searching for Kal? There’s only one reason the Nobles Academy students would be so frantic to find him.’
‘The love potion.’
She tried to dismiss it as ridiculous, but the fact that so many students were searching had her thinking ‘No way…’
Chloe also looked perplexed when suddenly the discussion around her shifted.
“Hey, if you got your hands on the love potion, who would you give it to?”
“Why are you asking something like that!?”
“Because I’m curious! Isn’t the reason you want the love potion to go on a date with someone you like?”
Nearby, three female students passed by Selia and Chloe, chatting happily.
“I… would probably give it to Duran?”
“Figures, Duran, huh!”
“Yeah. Somehow, even his arrogance is charming! What about you?”
“I’d choose Abad. Just looking at him warms my heart!”
As Selia listened to this conversation, she couldn’t help but let out an exasperated expression.
‘Are these girls blind? What’s good about that arrogant troublemaker or that conceited butterball?’
While Selia was fuming, the girls who had praised Abad and Duran turned their gaze to another.
“You?”
“I… I’d choose Leo. He might look like a youth on the outside, but he’s so mature and manly.”
The shy student spoke while blushing and fumbling with her words.
Hearing this, Selia nodded slowly.
“Well, he does indeed have those traits. Right, Chloe?”
When Selia turned to Chloe, she froze. Chloe’s expression had completely disappeared.
“C-Chloe?”
Chloe, cold as ice, had become like an Ice Queen incarnate.
“Selia, I apologize, but I can’t go out today.”
“What?”
“As a student of the Department of Magic, I can’t let this incident slide.”
“Ah, understood. Should I help?”
“Could you?”
Chloe’s expression softened slightly as she smiled faintly.
“I need to catch Kal and make sure he can’t create anything strange again.”
Crackle—
Kal, hiding in the bushes, gave a bitter smile.
‘What is this? Why is this disaster happening to me on a morning like this?’
To be chased fervently by female classmates of the same year… he’d never thought this would happen in his life.
Of course, the chase was because of the love potion he had crafted, but still, this experience was unprecedented.
Regardless, he certainly wasn’t planning to get caught easily.
Once they caught him, he was sure they’d forcibly take the love potion.
‘Would it be better just to throw it away? No, it’s too valuable.’
How much money had he poured into making this love potion?
‘Somehow, I need to recover my costs.’
The calculation of gain and loss was quick.
‘Somehow, if I meet Leo and ask for his help…’
“Kal, what are you doing here?”
“Keeck?”
Startled by the unexpected voice from the side, Kal jumped.
“Hey!”
“Over there!”
“You alerted them!”
Kal shouted as he began his escape.
“Illiana has arrived too, her eyes blazing as she ordered the illegal drug possessor arrested under the Student Council directive!”
Not only female students but some male students were now chasing after him as well.
Some wanted the love potion, and others were worried their secret loves might be influenced by it.
For various reasons, all the students were chasing Kal with fiery determination.
Of course, being the weakest of the second-year students, Kal was quickly cornered.
“Hey! Calm down. You guys will be in serious trouble if the professors find out about this!”
Kal desperately warned the students.
“Huh? Why isn’t the on-duty professor responding to this chaos… Wait. Today, Rent is on duty, isn’t he?”
Kal’s face went rigid when he realized Rent was today’s on-duty professor.
Rent was the type who would see this situation as an interesting magic experiment.
The fierce gazes of his second-year peers were fixed on Kal.
As he nervously swallowed, a sudden gust of wind blew.
Whoosh! Crack!
“Huh?!”
A whip suddenly flew and coiled around Kal’s neck, and with an immense force, he was yanked up into the sky.
When Kal regained his senses, he was aboard a Wind Wyvern flying over Lumeran skies.
“I’m saved!”
Kal’s exclamation was met with Eliza, who sat cross-legged, filing her nails on the wyvern’s back.
“Because of your pathetic potion, I couldn’t get any rest this morning.”
Eliza shot him a glance with an irritable tone.
“Sorry. I didn’t expect things to get this out of hand. Still, thank you for saving me.”
Kal sighed in relief.
‘Eliza, it’s reassuring to have you, at least.’
The idea of prideful and dignified Eliza craving a love potion to lure a boy seemed far-fetched.
“With a love potion, the arrogant Leo Flove will adore me. Sounds amusing, doesn’t it?”
“It’s not a slave-making potion, and who says Leo is arrogant anyway? That’s you.”
“Hmph.”
Kal’s remark earned him a smirk from Eliza.
“I should probably need an experimental subject.”
As Eliza lazily stared at him, Kal gave a nervous smile.
“Uh, not that. You’re not planning to force-feed me that, are you?”
“It’s an honor to serve me. Take delight in it.”
“Absolutely no honor in that!”
As Kal panicked, a sharp crack of ice rang out.
The Wind Wyvern opened its mouth and shot out its breath.
BOOM! Crack!
The highly compressed Air Breath shattered the large blocks of ice.
“Chloe Mueller.”
“Chloe! You came to rescue me!”
Eliza’s lips curled into a mischievous smirk, while Kal frantically waved his arms in a dramatic welcome to Chloe.
“Kal.”
“Wh-what?”
“Didn’t I warn you before that making anything strange and violating rules would not be forgiven?”
“But, wait a second!”
As Kal floundered in response to Chloe’s menacing aura, Eliza chimed in.
“Sorry, but Mr. Kal Thomas decided to h*rass me with his love potion.”
“That never happened! Stop talking like a gang demanding protection money!”
“I’ll show you what happens when you misuse Lord Dwenno’s alchemy book!”
Crack!
Chloe initiated her freezing spell to transform Kal into an ice statue.
“Who would have thought that a dormitory leader of Glory Academy would interfere in the affairs of Nobles Academy? Are you prepared, Chloe Mueller?”
Eliza adopted a belligerent smile.
“Since you owe me for losing during the midterm exams, let’s settle the debt now.”
“Calm down!”
Kal let out a desperate cry when suddenly…
Whoosh!
A powerful gust of wind blew between Chloe and Eliza, carrying Kal into the air.
Eliza’s eyes twitched.
“Chase.”
The Wind Wyvern, on Eliza’s command, prepared to chase Kal when suddenly…
Crack!
“Who started this fight?”
Chloe’s lips curved into a cold smirk.
“Hmm.”
Eliza rested her chin thoughtfully.
“This could be amusing.”
Eliza transitioned fully into her fighting stance.
BOOM!
Chaotic magical forces clashed in the sky.
“I knew you’d cause trouble someday.”
Chelsea, grabbing Kal by the back of the neck, spoke in a disdainful tone.
“Chelsea! You’re really here to save me!”
“Yeah. Just get rid of that ridiculous potion or hand it over to the student council.”
Chelsea’s indifferent tone left Kal puzzled.
“Don’t you desire it?”
“I do.”
Chelsea smiled faintly.
“But I’ve resolved to pursue things with my own strength. A fleeting, sweet dream isn’t necessarily bad, but relying on external forces feels meaningless.”
“You’re the youngest, but you sound the most mature.”
Kal let out a hollow laugh and pulled a potion bottle from his pocket, its golden liquid sparkling.
“With this potion, I hoped to make a fortune, but… this isn’t my skill. It’s Lord Dwenno’s.”
Kal gave a bittersweet smile.
“I’ll dispose of it.”
“Good choice.”
By now, they had almost descended to the ground.
As Chelsea smiled, a sudden gale blew.
“Ah, I dropped it.”
“Hey idiot! What if you mess it up like that!”
“Love potion?”
Behind the Glory dormitory building, Leo stood after his morning training, looking absolutely baffled.
“Yeah, it’s from Lord Dwenno’s alchemy book, as they say.”
Celia nodded, recounting the commotion of the morning to Leo.
“Lord Leo, here’s your water.”
Chen Sia, who had been training with Leo, handed him a cup with water, smiling.
“Thank you.”
As Leo took the cup, shaking his head, he wondered:
“Why did Dwenno, that weird guy, record such vulgar things in his alchemy book?”
At that moment, in perfect timing, a small potion bottle dropped from the sky and fell into Leo’s water cup.
“What’s this?”
“A potion bottle?”
Chen Sia and Celia’s eyes widened in shock.
With a speculative expression, Leo fished the potion bottle out of the cup, opened it, and sniffed it carefully.
“Hey! Leo! Don’t drink that!”
“Leo! Quickly, get rid of it!”
The frantic voices of Chelsea and Kal reached Leo’s ears from above.
Even Chloe and Eliza, who had been fighting fiercely in the air until now, had descended close to the ground and noticed this scenario unfolding.
Celia and Chen Sia stared wide-eyed.
Leo’s following action shocked them utterly.
With a slight grin, he swallowed the love potion.
