Chapter 37: The Fatal Kick
“Alright, I got it. Once I wrap things up here, I’ll come find you. Don’t worry.”
“Mmm. If there’s nothing else, we’ll take our leave now. Father King, take good care of yourself here.”
Aierjisi was still worried about whether Carl could adapt to the upcoming life. After all, Carl used to be a king, living a life where everything was handed to him. But now, all the servants were gone, and she genuinely worried if her father could accept this new way of living.
“Don’t worry! Do you think your father is someone to be underestimated? Let me introduce myself—your father is quite capable, you know? Just wait until you come back next time; this place will be just as it was before.”
“I believe you, I really do. Because you are my father, the king of the Blood Clan. Re-establishing the Moon God Palace is just a piece of cake for you.”
Aierjisi had complete faith that her father could accomplish such a task. There was nothing in the world that could stump him… well, aside from her needing to get married.
“Enough already! How long do you two plan to chat here? Are we leaving or not? Or are you going to stay a while longer and keep resting?”
Yake was growing impatient, it’s been over ten minutes—are we going or not?
“Ah, we’re coming, we’re coming! Of course we’re leaving! Father, we’re off now. We’ll probably be back before long. In the meantime, just put in some hard work rebuilding the Moon God Palace.”
Aierjisi moved to Yake’s side, linking her arm with his, and waved goodbye to her father.
“You two, take care of yourselves. The upcoming battles shouldn’t be easy for you; make sure you come back alive.”
Carl waved goodbye to both of them, watching as they headed back to the northern kingdom of Panimir.
…
“Huff, it looks like we landed smoothly this time. Gaia really gave us good stuff—definitely not on the same level as the things we got from the City Lord, right, Yake?”
“Ah? I don’t feel there’s much difference. The reason we fell last time was just that we messed up the method. It really had nothing to do with the quality of the crystal, right?”
“See? Yake, your emotional intelligence really is quite low.”
Aierjisi was once again reminded of how hopeless her servant was regarding emotional matters; he struggled to articulate his thoughts.
“There’s nothing to be done. Our backgrounds are different. I don’t really care about emotional intelligence.”
At least for Yake, being a commoner, he wouldn’t attend any noble gatherings. His adventurer companions just said whatever they felt like; what did he need emotional intelligence for?
“Fine, fine, talking to you is pointless. Now that we’re back, let’s go greet Gaia; perhaps Ailin has returned too. I wonder if Weirafiya is back.”
Aierjisi walked into the Royal Palace, ready to find Gaia and give a greeting.
However, before she could find him, she unexpectedly ran into another familiar face.
“Yo, isn’t that Yaser? You guys are back already? So quick!”
Spotting Yaser in the hallway, Aierjisi waved cheerfully.
She really couldn’t believe they had returned so fast. Truly, they were among the players who successfully cleared the game; only they could be such reliable companions.
“Eh? Miss Aierjisi? Mr. Yake? You two are back already?”
Yaser was surprised to see them, as they were supposed to be in the Moon God Palace in the south.
“What’s so surprising? Since you all have returned, isn’t it normal for us to come back too?”
“No… we haven’t even set out yet.”
“What?”
Upon hearing Yaser say they hadn’t even departed, Aierjisi was taken aback.
Are you kidding me? She’s back already, and Weirafiya hasn’t even left? Is she just lounging around here eating and drinking?
How could she show her face as a player like this? She’s one of the players who cleared the game and came to this world—how could she be so disgraceful?
“Take me to see her; I need to give her a good scolding. How could she do this?”
This was absolutely unacceptable. What on earth was that little Phoenix, Weirafiya, thinking? It’s already a race against time, and she’s still taking it easy here?
“I suppose so. Follow me then; I’ll take you to see the young lady.”
Yaser gave a wry smile; he expected Aierjisi to ask him to take her to see Weirafiya.
Even if Aierjisi didn’t ask, Yaser would have suggested it anyway. Their young lady had completely turned into a lazy fish; someone had to go over and talk some sense into her.
Before long, Yaser led them back to their room, where they found Weirafiya still sound asleep on the bed.
“She really sleeps well.”
Yake couldn’t help but comment. Though the time was already late, Weirafiya was still there sleeping soundly, as if the war with the Adrian People had nothing to do with her.
“How relaxed, Weirafiya. Since it’s like this, let’s give her a good lesson. Yaser, I might be pulling off a critical hit here; is that okay?”
“Of course, no problem! Feel free to unleash some violence—as long as we can get the young lady to change her ways and be a proper Phoenix again.”
Yaser eagerly agreed to Aierjisi’s demands. If he could take Weirafiya on, he would have used violence himself to get her to act like a Phoenix.
“Great! With your assurance, I’m at ease. Now you two, step back a bit.”
Yake held onto Yaser and quietly retreated out of the room; at this distance, they should be safe.
As for Weirafiya, she was still blissfully unaware of the danger closing in on her.
Aierjisi approached her, grabbed her legs, forced them apart, and lifted her foot high. She then brought it down hard onto Weirafiya’s groin, delivering a critical kick.
Though technically, she didn’t have any chickens right now.
