Chapter 373

Clue

After finishing Dalena’s notes, Dorothy muttered happily to herself. Of course, she knew what those random scratches on the stele were; they were the General Language used by the Star Number Repair Association! These General Languages only reveal their meanings when encountered by specific groups that have been pre-set. Moreover, this language can transcend linguistic barriers. The text on the stele beneath King Campus was just like that.

After reading through the entire notebook, Dorothy closed her eyes and began extracting the spiritual essence from the secret transmission knowledge within the notes. Soon, Dorothy gained 5 points of pure “Enlightenment.”

“Huh… It seems I need to talk with Adele again…”

Sighing deeply, Dorothy closed the notebook in her hand and quickly took out her magic box. After opening it, she manipulated the zombie puppet inside to search for something.

A moment later, a hand reached out from the magic box holding a book. Dorothy took the book and high-fived the hand that stretched out from the box. After the hand retracted, she closed the magic box.

Then, Dorothy opened the book she had taken out of the magic box, revealing large blank pages. This was Dorothy’s “Navigation of the Literary Sea.”

Soon, Dorothy flipped to the page where she could contact Adele and began writing. She mainly asked about the stele, describing its details meticulously and asking if Adele had any impressions of it.

After sending the information, Dorothy used Adele’s Puppet Mark to remind Adele of the incoming message and began waiting patiently. After about ten minutes, Dorothy finally saw Adele’s handwriting appear on the contact page.

“Good afternoon, Mr. Detective. It looks like you received my latest data. Now you’re asking me about it… It must be because of some new discoveries in the teacher’s data… To be able to research so quickly, I can’t help but admire your efficiency in handling poison recognition.”

Seeing Adele’s message, Dorothy paused, then realized she might have gotten too excited earlier. Contacting Adele so hastily might have revealed her special skills in poison recognition.

However, this didn’t worry Dorothy much, as Adele was practically one of her own. Perhaps she could fully bring Adele into the fold in the future. Knowing more wouldn’t hurt, but getting too relaxed due to excitement was indeed something to be cautious about.

“Thank you for the compliment, Miss Adele. We do have efficient methods for handling poison recognition. I’ve read part of Lady Dalena’s notes, and she mentioned that her workshop contained a stele similar to the one I described. That stele is our target. Do you have any impressions of it?”

Dorothy wrote back. Soon after, Adele’s response appeared on the page.

“I do have an impression of that stele. It was once placed in the teacher’s workshop. Apart from random scratches, there was nothing else on it. When I visited, I glanced at it a few times. The teacher seemed to have studied it for a while, but since no results were found, it was left there.

“After the Joyful Dance Association was annihilated by the Wolf bl**d Association, the teacher’s workshop was looted by those beasts. Naturally, the stele ended up in their hands. Based on some recent memories I’ve gathered from the teacher… the stele should be in Davik’s possession.”

‘Again with the Wolf bl**d Association?…’ Dorothy thought, feeling a sense of heaviness, then continued writing with a question.

“Davik? Who is he?”

“Davik Jones, a member of the Wolf bl**d Association. Although he is just a Beast Shaper of Black Earth, he is one of the few members in that foolish organization who has some expertise in mysterious studies. According to the teacher’s memory, due to his talent, he advanced rapidly within the Wolf bl**d Association and was about to become a White Tier werewolf. He participated in many of their studies and was considered a key figure for internal development.

“In the teacher’s memory, this guy once interrogated her about the secrets and research results stored in her workshop. Therefore, I conclude that all the seemingly useless but valuable items in her workshop at that time should be in his possession.”

Adele responded. Seeing Adele’s reply, Dorothy paused, then continued writing.

“So, Miss Adele, do you know where this Davik is located?”

“If I knew where Davik’s base was, he would already be in pieces. Every member of the Wolf bl**d Association is my enemy, especially those involved with my teacher. I wish I could dismantle each one of them, but unfortunately, a hidden society member with strong anti-divination abilities is not easy to find. What I can confirm now is… that guy should still be in Tivyán.”

Adele’s response appeared on the page, and seeing this, Dorothy frowned.

‘So, no idea where he is… This is another search mission…’

Dorothy thought, somewhat troubled. Such searches were common for her, but finding someone in such a vast city with virtually no clues was a first. This made Dorothy feel somewhat anxious.

But despite the anxiety, she still needed to express gratitude. Dorothy continued writing in the “Navigation of the Literary Sea.”

“Thank you, Miss Adele, for taking the time to answer my questions amidst your busy schedule. Your answers were very helpful. Thank you.”

“Still so polite, Mr. Detective. After all, we are friends, aren’t we? Friends help each other, right? Besides, didn’t I tell you last time? Just call me Adele. Being overly formal can make us distant, you know~”

Adele replied. After reading Adele’s response, Dorothy paused, then wrote back.

“Okay, thank you, Adele.”

“You’re welcome, Mr. Detective. I’m also looking forward to knowing your real name someday. It gets tiresome always calling you ‘Mr.’ all the time.”

Adele’s final response made Dorothy sigh and shake her head before closing the “Navigation of the Literary Sea.” She leaned back in her chair and began pondering how to find the Wolf bl**d Association member named Davik.

“Tsk… This is troublesome. Apart from his name and rank, I have almost no leads… I don’t know where to start…”

Supporting her head with her hand, Dorothy thought as she tended to the fire in the fireplace. Just as she was deep in thought, trying to find a breakthrough, a voice echoed in her mind. It was the system conveying a prayer.

And this voice was unusually familiar—it was Gregor!

“Hey, big brother is praying to me~”

Thinking this, Dorothy immediately sat up straight and listened to her brother’s prayer as if she were a deity.

“Great Akka, who records all things… I pray to you, and I beg you. Please build a bridge for me to communicate directly with the detective. I need his help to meet with members of the Eight Pinnacle Nest.”

Hearing Gregor’s words, Dorothy paused, then turned to look at the calendar. Today was the 25th, the day she had set for meeting with the Eight Pinnacle Nest members using Gregor’s body.
