Chapter 383: Grandma Izay Says: Chop Them Down! (Please Subscribe!)
After hearing what Izay had to say, the wavering gazes of the squad members gradually became resolute.
Indeed, even if that monster might have possessed some fairy bloodline for certain reasons.
The adventurers here, however, would never acknowledge such a thing.
How could this possibly be the fairy who accompanied ancient heroes in saving the lower realms?!
Impossible!
“Think about that sublimated form we just saw everyone. The female figure before us is a creature evolved from a monster, using those new species as her evolutionary tentacles!”
Finn looked at the alien existence rising over ten meters high and added more weight to Izay’s words.
Recalling that “evolution,” everyone finally expelled the possibility of this being a fairy from their minds, their weapon-wielding hands gripping tighter.
“Although we don’t know exactly what she is, chopping her down seems right, doesn’t it? She appears to be aiming for Ais!”
Tiona raised Roland’s Great Sword with uncertain remarks.
“Be confident, Tiona, remove the word ‘appears.'”
Izay stepped in front of Ais still standing frozen in place, blocking the gaze of the defiled fairy.
In front of his sight, the female figure laughed while calling out to the blonde girl:
“Alya, Alya!!”
She called out Alya’s name like a child, stutteringly expressing her heart:
“I want to see you so much, I want to see you so much! Merge with me too, will you!?”
“—Let me… eat you! Alright?”
Finally, the female figure revealed a crescent-moon-like smile.
All the densely packed larvae monsters and man-eating flowers that had offered her magic stones and bodies suddenly redirected their malice towards the adventurers—towards Ais.
“BOOM!!!”
At the same time, there was a thunderous roar near the floor entryway, blocked by green walls.
“The retreat path has been…?”
“Everyone, prepare for battle!”
Finn wouldn’t allow the squad members to waver at this moment due to the sealed escape route. He issued orders rapidly, pulling the almost-panicking members back with a sharp voice.
Adventurers raised their weapons; monsters sneered, igniting the fuse of battle.
“OOOOOOOOH!!!”
A deafening cry echoed throughout, nearly drowning out the sound of the jungle as the new species swarmed madly toward the group.
Facing the overwhelming yellow-green and colorful blotches, the adventurers immediately drew their indestructible weapons to counterattack.
“—’Purification’!”
Izay cast a spell after confirming Ais’ condition multiple times.
He originally thought the girl stood there because of shock, but he realized his assumption was wrong.
Ais couldn’t move because she was unable to do so.
Even the altered traits within the corrupted, fallen fairy-monster were enough to resonate with the fairy bloodline.
Of course, not in a good way. The female figure wanted Ais to become someone like herself, initiating an erosion akin to a mental attack.
—Because of the inner pain caused by this mental assault, this was why Ais couldn’t move.
The moment the pure white magical light appeared, Ais’ dazed eyes refocused.
Her first reaction was a headache, then her heart raced fast, like waking up from a nightmare, causing the girl to stagger. Izay quickly steadied her.
“Are you alright?”
“…Yeah!”
“Can you wield your sword?”
“Yes!”
The brief dialogue silently declared the girl’s determination.
Once freed from the state of mental attack, Ais immediately became fierce, her eyes glaring fixedly at the monster.
Who wouldn’t be in a bad mood after being mentally attacked? If not for Izay’s help, Ais might have suffered headaches for much longer.
But now there was no need to worry about such things anymore. The girl’s mindset could simply be described in one sentence: “Chop her down!”
As promised earlier to Izay, there should be no hesitation in attacking!
“Finn, this old man will join the vanguard!”
“Anyway, we’re doing the same thing as usual, slaughter them all!!”
The dwarf and werewolf easily repelled the monster’s charge, stimulated by the situation, they weren’t satisfied with mere defense—they wanted to take the initiative!
What does it matter if the retreat route is sealed?
Killing all the monsters here will allow them to leave just the same!
Deafening cries of death shook the heavens and earth. After Izay and Ais joined the battlefield, the new species were visibly forced back at an alarming rate!
“Refia, aim for the female figure and chant your spell! Raul, Alisia, cover with your Magic Swords!”
“Understood!” xN
With utmost precision, Finn faced the opponent as if combating the Lv.7 labyrinth solo king Balor.
The little fairy raised her wand and began chanting, while the supporters deployed their Magic Swords for cover.
With support fire, the first-class adventurers fully unleashed their abilities against the tide of monsters.
However, the next moment, seeing her minions continuously fall and the blonde girl relentlessly approaching, the evolved female figure made her first move.
“Alya—!”
Together with her heightened tone, a massive plant-made lower body sprouted a touch-over-one-meter-wide tentacle, shooting out at astonishing speed.
Facing the approaching giant tentacle from the side, Izay held his dark silver spear and barely met it head-on.
The usually sharp spear didn’t cut through the plant tentacle directly; the scales covering it were even harder than first-class armaments.
“And this kind of strength… Lv.7 level!?”
Having fought an invincible man just before departure, Izay was quite familiar with this oppressive sensation.
They only held their ground for a fleeting moment before both sides were forced apart by the mutual force.
Izay’s hands went numb from the immense power, and the retreating tentacle merely gained a scratch.
“To break this level of defense, magic must be used… But the next attack…”
Within moments, Izay understood the situation, surging magical energy into his weapon.
The evolved female figure displayed extremely potent latent ability values.
From a hundred meters away, she could handle the adventurers’ attacks with rain-like tentacles and seemed to be preparing something else.
“Riviria, halt your chanting!”
“Finn?”
Riviria, understanding the battle situation, prepared to act, but Finn told her to pause.
“My thumb is experiencing severe throbbing, never felt this intense before… Something big is coming.”
Finn voiced an extremely bitter tone.
His premonitions were almost like a gift, never mistaken. The commander, realizing the upcoming unpredictable situation, worried more than anyone else about the battle conditions.
And the female figure, having completed her magical energy preparation, smiled to confirm his intuition.
