Chapter 379: “I Just Have a Better Demolition Plan”
After letting the Glittering Dragon stomp its feet in frustration, Jiē Jié finally managed to successfully retrieve the spear from the Glittering Dragon’s mouth.
Jiē Jié had anticipated such an outcome. Meanwhile, the Odd-Faced Tribe surrounded him and the colossal cannon, dancing and cheering boisterously.
The deafening roar during firing and the flame-laden spear cutting through the air were enough for these beastmen to revere this cannon as a sacred artifact.
“Indeed, the rifling is completely ruined. Let’s try without it!”
Leaning closer to peek into the barrel, Jiē Jié decided to stuff more dust pellets directly inside from the front. The spear was then reinserted into the now rifling-less barrel.
As for what would happen without rifling? It would merely increase unpredictability, just like the Odd-Faced Tribe’s fireblasting muskets!
This time, Jiē Jié didn’t aim the cannon at the Glittering Dragon; once was enough—doing it again might get him driven out of the Golden Land.
The third firing produced an even louder boom!
Even without rifling, the spear still spun after being shot out!
A longitudinal spin!
The spear rotated and traced an incredibly bizarre arc. Jiē Jié and the beastmen watched with their gazes following the arc until it finally struck the head of the Glittering Dragon.
“Bang!”
The longitudinally spinning spear collided with the Glittering Dragon’s head, which had just been raised, producing a slightly louder sound on its curled horn before bouncing off and embedding itself into the ceiling.
The Glittering Dragon took a deep breath, and the Odd-Faced Tribe fled hastily without a word.
If the big boss could withstand its Breath Weapon, they’d surely be vaporized if hit—wah wah wah!
Seeing the impending counterattack from the Glittering Dragon, Jiē Jié quickly grabbed his masterpiece and dodged, flying to a higher level of the Golden Land.
The Flame Empress Dragon didn’t care that her husband was being driven away by the Glittering Dragon and continued basking in the geothermal heat near the lava shore.
She’d gotten used to it—just as long as the Glittering Dragon didn’t drive her away too.
The Glittering Dragon looked at Jiē Jié’s fleeing back, then glanced at the steel spear embedded in the ceiling, lost in thought. She tilted her head high and gave it a slight tug.
“Caaak~”
The spear in the ceiling trembled and traced another strange arc, hitting her curled horn again.
Hm… Could it be her fault?
The Glittering Dragon pondered, shaking her head, and lay down again, not caring that the spear hadn’t fallen off.
Jiē Jié turned towards the entrance. The Glittering Dragon hadn’t chased after him, but the test-firing plan needed a pause.
Still, why restrict oneself to launching just one spear?
He thought about this, reloaded the powder pellets, scanned his surroundings, and stuffed a large rock into the cannon barrel.
“Boom!”
Rock fragments flew everywhere. The Odd-Faced Tribe who had followed him up cheered excitedly upon seeing this.
The Flame King Dragon placed his claw on the cannon barrel, lightly rubbing the muzzle with his paw pads, getting some even more dangerous ideas.
He shook his wings, scraping them against the muzzle so that his powder continuously fell into the barrel.
After using up most of the powder on his body within a short period, he hooked the explosive pot from the Odd-Faced King’s waist and rolled it inside.
The Odd-Faced King understood what he intended to do, calling for the beastmen to surrender their explosive pots. He also plucked firepowder grass from his underlings and placed them on the ground, summoning more gunpowder and saltpeter from his subordinates.
All sorts of explosives were crammed into the cannon barrel, filling half of it.
Meanwhile, Jiē Jié held the cannon and aimed the muzzle at a rock wall.
Instinctively, the Odd-Faced Tribe retreated to a great distance, looking at the Flame King Dragon beside the cannon with the admiration reserved for warriors.
When Jiē Jié bit his lip and blew fire to fire the cannon, he wasted no time turning around and running.
Inside the cannon was a massive stockpile of supplies found by the Golden Odd-Faced Tribe, including Nana’s powder balls and all the powder a Flame King Dragon could produce in a short time!
“BOOM!!!”
An explosive gale brought forth the thunderous roar of the explosion. A powerful wind pressure swept over his head, and with his peripheral vision, he caught sight of the cannon barrel itself, now blooming with explosions, flying past his head faster than he could.
There was no time to lament the loss of his cannon as he felt the earth-shaking tremor from behind.
“Wow!”
Jiē Jié turned to face the blast wind and saw the rock wall directly shattered, the shockwave reverberating through the upper layers of the remaining rock walls, causing the fragile structure above to violently shake.
The impact continued to propagate until a large amount of rubble collapsed, falling from the sky!
The Flame King Dragon’s super nova could achieve similar effects, but this was different! This was fired out of a cannon!
It’s often said that when one carries a sharp blade, killing intent naturally arises. When you have a stick in your hand, you always want to poke something. And when you have a cannon in your hands, you can’t help but want to shoot something.
The loud noise also startled the lower-level Glittering Dragon. Dì Mǔ Shén rose to her feet, noticing that the Flame Empress Dragon had already rushed upstairs. Following her lead, she probed her head up the slope, just in time to see the scene upstairs.
The rock strata were still collapsing, with a large number of rocks piling up, covering the golden-tinged floor.
Startled and enraged, the Glittering Dragon dragged her skirt armor and exerted force with her four limbs, leaping and jumping over the slope, issuing a long roar toward the figure facing the rock wall.
Jiē Jié turned around and saw the irate master of the Golden Land. The temperature rose with her anger, and her golden skirt armor seemed ready to burst open.
Mad enough to rip her clothes.
“Hmph! Actually, I just have a better renovation plan—”
How could the enraged Glittering Dragon listen to his excuses? She slapped her hand down.
Knowing he was in the wrong, Jiē Jié kept dodging without retaliating, retreating into the topmost layer of the golden plains. Looking back, he saw the gold above the cave melting and flowing due to the heat wave, while the gold on the lower slope was pushed upwards, sealing the cave entrance.
Being driven out, he’d just wait a few days for the Glittering Dragon to cool down before returning.
Turning his head, he spotted Basin grooming himself, the Female Fire Dragon looking alluring, unconsciously exuding charm from her gaze.
It was already the breeding season for the Fire Dragons. The two Male Fire Dragons both wanted to make a move on Basin nearby but were promptly reprimanded and driven out, going outside to look for female dragons.
But where are there any female dragons in the highly competitive Dragon Crystal Land? The two brothers could just loiter outside until the breeding season ended.
“Hooh!”
Basin spread her wings and greeted him. During the breeding season, female dragons were the coy ones. Basin, aware of her own advantages, remained haughty unlike Iron Pot and Porcelain Bowl, who were overly eager and constantly thinking about the opposite sex.
Let’s just let this breeding season pass like this, sigh.
Jiē Jié darted out of the exit and resumed being a slacker in the Dragon Crystal Land.

When you see a mighty male fire dragon soaring through the sky, you can't confidently say it’s truly a fire dragon—because it might have been a rare silver fire dragon before you noticed it.
If you suspect it was a silver fire dragon, it could have been a spinosaurus even earlier.
When someone tells you it was once a spinosaurus, you still can’t be sure—because before others saw it, it might have been an elder extinction dragon.
You may feel certain it’s a flying dragon by now, yet you can't assert that either—because underground where you can't see, it might actually be an ancient mountain dragon.
So, what is it really?
In the beginning,
It was just a hairy spider.
