Godel. After ending Rapunzel’s life to obtain her hair, he endured a year of horrific torture. To me, time flew by in the blink of an eye, but for him, that single year felt like a hundred years of sheer agony and despair.
Rapunzel slowly pierced his skin with her hair. Every minute, she’d make tiny advances, using her hair to cut into his flesh bit by bit. Her method ensured no part of his body was left untouched by her golden strands. The head was saved for last—can’t risk killing him prematurely, after all.
Whenever Godel suffered fatal injuries, she used magic to provide just enough first aid to keep him alive. At first, Godel screamed and struggled furiously, unleashing every spell he knew, some of which were beyond imagination in power. But none of them could even scratch her hair.
Eventually, he gave up hope, trembling in fear as he begged for mercy. “Please, let me live!” He claimed he could解除 the tower’s barrier if spared. But when given the chance, he couldn’t do it—it was a seal only he could cast, but impossible for him to解除.
Godel had used forbidden magic to set the seal, thinking that taking away Rapunzel’s power would allow him to解除 it easily later.
Rapunzel scoffed at his attempts, continuing the torture without hesitation. When bored, she’d cut off his tongue, rip out his fingers and toes, then peel off his skin until raw flesh showed beneath. Each time, Godel screamed and pleaded for d*ath.
But Rapunzel wouldn’t stop. He begged her to k*ll him, but she refused with a cold smile, promising a slow and painful demise worthy of his crimes.
The sight of Rapunzel filled me with both dread and sorrow. Though justice was served, there was an overwhelming sadness—the loss of Merel, her inability to leave the tower despite knowing the truth, the weight of her sealed life pressing down on her soul.
Her fits grew more frequent; she’d bang her head against walls and cry out in anguish. During these moments, Godel’s torture intensified, as if she channeled her rage into each strike.
After one year, Godel’s mind snapped. His entire body riddled with golden strands, he met his end in a grotesque manner far worse than Merel’s.
With her vengeance complete, Rapunzel turned her gaze toward the kingdom. Attempting to leave the tower proved futile due to the unbreakable seal, but her hair? It passed through effortlessly. She extended her golden locks outside, manipulating them remotely to take human form—a perfect replica of herself walking freely among the streets.
“KYAAAAA!!! Demon! A demon has appeared!!”
“Holy cr*p! This is what happened to Godel!”
“Everyone, run!!!”
Citizens panicked, hiding in corners or locking themselves indoors. One young man froze in terror upon seeing her, collapsing onto the ground unable to speak.
Rapunzel merely glanced at them and walked past.
“Halt!!!”
Soldiers blocked her path, led by Captain Bogart. Fully armed, they glared at her suspiciously.
“Evil demon, halt your steps, Rapunzel!!!”
“Am I really evil?” she asked calmly.
“Yes! You’ve broken Godel’s seal and emerged into the world to curse this land!”
“I am Rapunzel, princess of this kingdom. Show respect.”
“Silence! The moment you stepped outside, you became the kingdom’s enemy!”
“…Disgusting,” she muttered under her breath.
In an instant, golden whips swept across the soldiers, sending them flying unconscious. Murmuring to herself, she continued forward.
“I’m not a demon… Father, Mother, please…”
No one could stand against her. A single strand of her hair sent opponents crumbling like leaves in autumn winds.
Finally, she reached the king and queen. Swallowing nervously, she addressed them.
“Father, Mother, it’s me…”
“AHHH!!! IT’S THE DEMON!!!”
“Sire, a demon approaches! We must flee!!!”
Rapunzel anticipated this reaction. Still, she tried explaining calmly.
“I’m no demon. Everything was Godel’s doing—killing Merel, spreading lies about me. I’ve mastered my powers now! Look!” She created a cute sparrow from her hair, chirping innocently on her palm.
“Goodness gracious! Creating life?! She’s definitely a demon!”
“No, that’s not my daughter! Oh, Rapunzel, please return to the tower!!”
“I’m telling you, it’s not true! Listen to me! I can help restore this kingdom! It’s all been Godel’s manipulation!”
As she took another step closer…
“AAHHH!!! Don’t come near us!”
The queen hyperventilated while the king drew his sword.
“Leave this sacred kingdom immediately, cursed demon!!!”
Rapunzel watched silently as her own parents trembled in fear, her father raising his blade against her.
“Hmph.” She chuckled bitterly, feeling emotions deeper than any she had imagined. Betrayal and anger bubbled within her chest.
“You’re supposed to be my parents! Why don’t you believe me? Do you know what I went through locked away in that tower?! What did I endure?!”
Her scream shook the castle walls.
The king looked down at his shattered sword, horror washing over his face.
Rapunzel clawed at her hair in frustration, though it remained intact.
“This is the worst. Absolutely the worst. No one is on my side. Nobody wants me.”
“Y-you wicked demon! Go back to your tower NOW!!!”
She stopped abruptly, glaring at him with eyes full of resentment.
“Fine. If that’s what you want, so be it. I am calamity. I am a curse. And I will destroy this kingdom!”
Blinding light erupted from her golden hair, swallowing everything in its path.
I stood amidst the emptiness afterward, witnessing the tragedy of Rapunzel’s past.
It made me sad. Her pain, her suffering—I couldn’t begin to comprehend how unbearable it must have been, living a life devoid of love.
“A demon…”
From the ground arose familiar figures: Godel, the king and queen, Bogart, and countless soldiers. Their numbers dwarfed anything before.
“k*ll the demon!!!”
“Destroy Rapunzel!!!”
“She’s a monster!!!”
These weren’t real—they were manifestations of her trauma, the negative emotions eating away at her soul.
I gripped my scythe tightly.
This was my mission now.
“Give me back my girlfriend, d*mn you, hairballs.”
Swing after swing, I cut them down relentlessly. With each fallen foe, her hair scattered around me. My legs wobbled, nausea rising with every labored breath—but I couldn’t stop. Not when their swords clashed against mine, not when Godel’s spells scorched my body.
“Pant… pant…”
I couldn’t stop. I had to rise again. For her—for the girl I confessed to, the one who accepted my feelings, the innocent maiden trapped in that tower.
I had to tell her.
“No.”
bl**d trickled down my forehead. Every movement sent waves of agony through my muscles. My scythe felt heavier than stone, sweat pouring down like rain.
But still, I moved.
“Move aside.”
Keep moving. Never rest. Swing your weapon before the pain registers.
“MOVE ASIDE!!!”
I could feel her presence nearby. Just a little further.
The moment to save the princess trapped in the tower was approaching. Endure. Persist. Eliminate every obstacle ahead.
“GET OUT OF MY WAY!!!”
I had to.
I had to tell Rapunzel…
That she wasn’t a demon.
