Chapter 388: Seconds per fifty centimeters.
Tornadoes kept spinning in the Lava Zone, hurling magma into the air and wrapping it around to form a fierce Flame Storm that sought to repel any intruders.
But even within the cramped underground space, the silver figure continued to perform high-difficulty aerial maneuvers, completely unaffected by the storm. It even used the storm’s power to soar closer to the figure within the storm.
Meanwhile, on the ground, the Golden Fire Dragon was barely dodging the swirling storms, but showed no strong desire to attack the Steel Dragon.
It had grown numb.
Originally, it thought the Silver Fire Dragon had brought it to some kind of paradise where there were no monsters to worry about—a great place to reproduce and rest.
Indeed, it was a pretty good place, except for one thing—there were way too many powerful monsters and not nearly enough resources to compete for.
All it wanted was to reproduce, but in this place, it couldn’t even find a safe nest. They hadn’t been able to mate yet…
But as it watched the Silver White Bright Sun rise against the storm, with both strength and beauty—it was the perfect partner.
It wasn’t the Silver Fire Dragon’s fault—it was all because of that freak, and the Steel Dragon standing right there!
That Steel Dragon was blocking their love nest!
The Golden Fire Dragon’s eyes flashed with intense anger after its self-realization!
But with the Steel Dragon’s roar, another Air Cannon was unleashed into a tornado, pushing the nearby Silver Fire Dragon away.
“Grunt!!!”
The Golden Fire Dragon raised its head, and the scorching Jié Yán pierced through several tornadoes, precisely exploding on the storm fortress centered around the Steel Dragon.
“Roar!!!”
Seeing this, the Silver Fire Dragon also raised its head in mid-air, bending its neck slightly backward. The Jié Yán flowed through its healed throat and struck the storm fortress once again, following the Golden Fire Dragon’s roar.
The residual breath of the Golden Fire Dragon ignited, causing a secondary explosion that sent powerful winds rushing outward, slowing down the rotation of the storm fortress.
But this wasn’t the limit of the Gold and Silver Fire Dragons. The Golden Fire Dragon launched a second round of fireballs, triggering a third explosion from the combined remnants of their breaths.
The triple explosion shook the storm fortress until it trembled and collapsed, revealing the powerful Ancient Dragon dominating the Lava Zone.
Jié Jié assessed the situation upon entering the Lava Zone, observing the Steel Dragon whose body reflected a bronze hue under the molten lava’s glow.
Beyond this reflective light, one could see its thick silver-black steel armor.
This was an incredibly powerful old Steel Dragon, even surpassing the battle-hardened Steel Dragon they had encountered before in the Dragon Crystal Land.
With another roar, the Steel Dragon flapped its wings again, summoning fierce winds to transform into an unstoppable storm fortress.
As it flew, the storm fortress collided directly with the Silver Fire Dragon in mid-air, while several tornados dispersed and swept across the area.
The central storm fortress, independent tornados, and spreading gales together seemed to seal off the entire lava cave in storms.
“Roar!”
The Silver Fire Dragon roared, flapping its wings to embrace the storm, rotating alongside the Steel Dragon as if trying to get closer.
Even though the Silver Fire Dragon was an enemy, the other Fire Dragons beside Jie Jie let out loud cries, as if cheering it on.
“Roar!”
Jié Jié roared and plunged into the storm as well.
The black sun and the silver sun crossed paths, their gazes meeting with newfound harmony. Jié Jié and the Silver Fire Dragon moved independently yet remained aligned, like fishermen pulling in their nets.
And the battle-tested Steel Dragon, nearing the level of a quasi-king, was the fish trapped inside!
The Steel Dragon sensed their approach and shook its head, spitting out air cannons transformed into independent tornados.
The Silver Sun skillfully dodged these tornados, even balancing them using its flight ability, maintaining absolute stillness amidst the storm. The relative motion caused the tornados to collide with each other, allowing the Silver Sun to escape the ensuing wind burst and approach the core of the storm more closely.
Jié Jié relied on sheer brute force; his wings flapped with dragon wind pressure, shattering each tornado effortlessly as he approached the storm’s core with ease.
The Black Sun and the Silver Sun appeared to either be protecting or crushing the Steel Dragon between them.
The Steel Dragon noticed the impending danger and expanded its core storm rapidly, pushing the two approaching Fire Dragons away.
Taking advantage of the Fire Dragons’ momentary rigidity, it performed an aerial charge, swinging its claw with terrifying force enhanced by its weight and momentum toward the Silver Fire Dragon.
The Silver Fire Dragon looked as if its scales would bristle at the sight of the charging Steel Dragon. The inflated wind filled its wings, making every flap incredibly difficult.
The silver sun splashed with golden blood, falling from the sky.
The enraged Steel Dragon didn’t stop there, diving swiftly to crush the Silver Sun with its own weight.
“That’s my prey!”
While the Silver Fire Dragon struggled with the bloated wind filling its wings, Jié Jié did not. He instantly took control of the unattended winds released by the Steel Dragon, riding them to collide with the diving beast.
“Bang!”
His head felt like it hit a hard wall, cracking scales and bleeding profusely, but the Steel Dragon was also thrown off, turning its body to land on the ground.
Under the reaction force, Jié Jié slowly descended at a rate of fifty centimeters per second.
The Silver Fire Dragon defiantly raised its head only to see the Black Sun turn into a dark curtain pressing down on it again.
Brother, you’re so heavy.
Fortunately, Jié Jié quickly got up, the broken scales on his head healing and regenerating rapidly.
Meanwhile, the Steel Dragon landed steadily and was now entangled with the seemingly insignificant yet vengeful Golden Fire Dragon.
The Golden Fire Dragon flapped its wings erratically, jumping left and right without pattern, then suddenly whipped its tail to strike the Steel Dragon’s face, causing poison blisters and confusion to appear.
Had it been one of the weaker-toxin Steel Dragons from the original continent, it might have already lain there groaning for a while. But the Steel Dragons of the New Continent weren’t that fragile—they just needed time to adapt to the toxins. Before it could recover, the Golden Fire Dragon delivered a combo punch.
If not now, when?
Another blast of Jié Yán erupted from the Silver Fire Dragon’s mouth, and the airborne Golden Fire Dragon seemed particularly excited, spitting out its own Jié Yán Fireball.
The intense impact momentarily dazed the Steel Dragon, who adapted to the toxins and soared into the sky, forming the storm fortress once again.
Jié Jié had been waiting for this moment and charged straight into the storm.
The rough black-red shell became silver and smooth, the two raised forelimbs glowing with alternating black and red light. With two slaps, left and right, he gave the Steel Dragon a lesson worthy of a predecessor from the original continent.
You can escape weak poison, but you can’t escape a weak dragon!
The Steel Dragon fell to the ground, then suffered another round of entanglement from the Gold and Silver Fire Dragons. After whimpering a bit, it fled the lava cave without looking back.
As the storm dissipated, only Jié Jié, now restored to his Male Fire Dragon form, and the Gold and Silver Fire Dragons remained.

When you see a mighty male fire dragon soaring through the sky, you can't confidently say it’s truly a fire dragon—because it might have been a rare silver fire dragon before you noticed it.
If you suspect it was a silver fire dragon, it could have been a spinosaurus even earlier.
When someone tells you it was once a spinosaurus, you still can’t be sure—because before others saw it, it might have been an elder extinction dragon.
You may feel certain it’s a flying dragon by now, yet you can't assert that either—because underground where you can't see, it might actually be an ancient mountain dragon.
So, what is it really?
In the beginning,
It was just a hairy spider.
