“Grand Master, wait for Hanbyeori to arrive! HAHA!”
“If only the local player in Diamond didn’t overturn the bus, that would’ve been a carry.”
10 straight wins.
Once again, they received a surrender before the game hit the 20-minute mark. It was a record set precisely 5 hours and 24 minutes after starting.
“Wow… Did you deal 60,000 damage by yourself?”
Hanbyeori marveled at the result screen shown after the game ended.
Holding a freeze against the Grand Master top laner, calling the opposing team, and then winning a 2v1 to snowball the game—something she did without a single mistake across 10 games.
If the opposing team didn’t have any intention of pushing top, she would straightforwardly enter their jungle and create chaos.
The fact she could pull this off perfectly without a single mistake was astonishing.
“Is he pro?”
“Obviously. There’s no way someone could make Grand Masters so powerless unless they’re pro.”
Currently, Hanbyeori was at 190 points in Master tier. What seemed impossible just moments ago revealed a glimmer of hope after a mere 5 hours.
“[Hanbyeori]: Shall we quickly start the next game?”
“[para]: Let’s go!”
“Is this guy really going Grand Master?”
Grinning ear to ear, the next game was found.
The moment she entered the champion selection screen,
“[Hyerimv]: What? Two ‘Master-dongs’ got picked?;; I dodged, and yet I’m being kidnapped again.”
Suddenly, a user assigned to the support role started lashing out.
“[Hyerimv]: Seriously? Two ranked rookies are duoing?”
“[Hyerimv]: Brother really climbed the ranks comfortably lol.”
Sensing something off, she searched the user’s name on the stats site.
His tier was Grand Master 700 pts, but looking back at the records, it was clear he had lost six straight games.
“Why is he yelling at us when it’s his own losses that are dropping his MMR.”
Due to para’s excessively high MMR, and Hanbyeori herself riding a winning streak with an excellent score, it wasn’t unusual to end up in games with players in the 600-700 point range despite being in Master.
“[Hyerimv]: Oh, we lost lol”
“[Hyerimv]: Never thought I’d be laning with ‘Master-dongs.’”
Glancing back at the selection screen, it was apparent para, who typically played top, had picked an ADC instead.
Judging it unwinnable, Hanbyeori sent para a private message.
“[Hanbyeori]: Shall I dodge?”
“[para]: No, we can win. I’m good at ADC.”
Though tempted to immediately hit the ‘Quit’ button, her hand hesitated at para’s strangely confident chat.
“Aah.”
“[Support’s Lee’s entrance to the gallery lol]”
“[Are you ready, Lee?]”
“[WHO IS THAT FING LEE!!!]”
In the end, the game began with a support who had picked Lee Sinn.
Top: Aatrox
Jungle: K’Sante
Mid: Yune
ADC: Ashe
Support: Rell
VERSUS
Top: K’Sante
Jungle: Viego
Mid: Zed
ADC: Aphelios
Support: Lee Sinn
“Really going Lee Sinn?”
Still, it seemed he wasn’t planning to throw the game.
Lee Sinn purchased the support item upon game start and immediately ran off to scout invades.
[Hyerimv (Lee Sinn) sent a danger signal]
[Hyerimv (Lee Sinn) sent a danger signal]
[Hyerimv (Lee Sinn) sent a danger signal]
Even more strangely, he pinged repeatedly for danger signals towards his teammates in the jungle and top, who were most likely taking a cigarette break near their spawn.
Indeed, even though he’d chosen Lee Sinn, the essence of the support role hadn’t abandoned him.
With that, the early laning phase unfolded normally.
[An ally has been eliminated]
Lee Sinn hit Q at level 1, and then immediately charged toward the enemy, giving a free attack.
“What? Why isn’t anyone responding?”
What nonsense was this?
Lee Sinn was indeed strong at level 1 if he decided to stick to the lane, but this was bottom duo; it wasn’t a solo lane.
“Uh… against Ashe and Rell, he’ll die at level 1.”
By checking the stats beforehand, Lee Sinn was clearly a support player.
That he was forcing things here made it clear he was acting on impulses, much like a child throwing a tantrum.
“[Hyerimv]: GG”
After spamming chat for over ten minutes, once Hyerimv (Lee Sinn) noticed I was not responding, he no longer returned to bottom after his seventh death.
“Rather better this way.”
The unreasonable pressure Lee Sinn had brought was absent, and his continuous laning pushes were now moot.
The late-game carry potential of Aphelios, my champion, among long-range damage dealers was near the top.
I resolved to slowly farm the minions…
[Hanbyeori (Zed) sent a danger signal]
[Hanbyeori (Zed) sent a danger signal]
[Hanbyeori (Zed) sent a danger signal]
A flurry of pings was marked in mid-lane at the same time the enemy Yune disappeared from the map.
The situation had already tilted in favor of their team after the early 2v2 fight involving our mid and jungle.
The only move they’d take next would be directed at Aphelios: diving my lone position.
“I’ve got 3 waves, including cannon minions.”
Diving is when you go into the opposing team’s tower to kill a champion hiding behind minions. It’s usually attempted when the opposing team’s minions are numerous, providing large rewards when successful.
When it succeeds, the player gets the gold and experience from killing the opposing champion, while the opposing team misses out on the experience and gold from the large number of minions, expanding the game gap significantly.
“So this is a melee ADC, huh.”
A key feature of Aphelios is that he has only two offensive skills, including the ultimate, and lacks any movement-based skills—making him a stationary fighter.
He does, however, have the advantage of choosing 5 weapons based on the current situation, and my current weapons of choice were the Cleaver and Flame Cannon.
The Cleaver provided lifesteal and movement speed, while the Flame Cannon dealt large AoE damage.
Sure enough, the enemy Yune appeared as soon as their minions reached our turret, followed by an Ashe ultimate: Enchanted Crystal Arrow.
Since I carriedBarrier as my summoner spell and not Cleanse, I sidestepped the arrow using my Flash spell.
At the same time, the enemy Rell also unleashed all his skills towards me.
Had I not checked their spells?
It seemed they didn’t anticipate I’d dodge the crystal arrow using Flash, so Rell wasted all his skills on an empty patch of ground.
Naturally, Yune also used his ultimate with the intention of chaining it together.
There was no way to dodge this.
“Attempting a dive without recalling is pushing it, isn’t it.”
Currently, Yune’s only Item was a pair of Tier 2 boots, the Warrior’s Footwear. One item wasn’t enough to instantly down me with Barrier equipped.
Once Yune’s airborne effect from his ultimate ended, I retaliated with my remaining skills.
Flame Cannon R, Flame Cannon auto attack, Flame Cannon Q—all unleashed.
Yone and Rell simultaneously caught my Flame Cannon ultimate inside their tower, dealing massive burst damage.
[DOUBLE KILL!]
And just like that, the double kill went to me.
W still fired toward the tower by Ashe halted as if he was rooted.
[TRIPLE KILL!]
It was a clean triple kill.
After that, the game was easy.
By devouring kills from the start and pulling out the Infinity Edge and Black Cleaver at the 16-minute mark, Aphelios became divine.
After a few team fights, even K’Sante began to retreat, selling all his jungle items and rushing mid.
Satisfied, I typed out a quick chat.
*
[Season-before Challenger mid-laner made Hanbyeori unable to breathe lol]
[Still crazy, 2-level ganks and steals lol]
[Even if you sleep, just counter with E lol]
“Huh…”
Was it the 8-hour+ broadcast? Or was it the fact that she faced a previous season challenger as a mid laner?
Or was it because K’Sante, after eating the enemy blue buff, immediately rushed mid?
Hanbyeori’s Zed was now trailing behind the enemy Yune by 70 CS and two levels in mid-lane.
“Ah.”
After pushing the entire wave, enemy Yune suddenly vanished from mid.
She pinged quickly, but true to form in high-tier queues, the opposing Yune was already sighted moving toward the bottom.
With Teleport on a 120-second cooldown and knowing a trip to bottom now would yield nothing, Hanbyeori focused on clearing her wave and briefly prayed.
A deafening victory cry echoed from bottom.
[TRIPLE KILL!]
Instead of avoiding dives, Aphelios had turned the tables and eliminated all enemy players, pushing their tower and ascending to mid to exert his control.
[para (Aphelios): Baron now. My weapons are good.]
At the 20-minute mark, Aphelios suggested clearing the enemy jungle before heading for Baron.
Baron Nashor is an objective in LoL that provides overwhelming buffs while also being challenging to slay, often referred to as giving the opposing team a chance to reverse the game.
However, the enemy jungler was currently dead, and Aphelios’s current weapon set was especially optimized for objective hunting.
No one opposed Aphelios’s lead as he dominated the game, and everyone began to attack Baron.
[BigandHeavy (K’Sante): We should probably prepare for a fight?]
The moment after resurrection, K’Sante used his ultimate on our team, significantly cutting through their health bars.
To make matters worse, Rell pulled off an unexpected finisher, causing three of our teammates to burst instantly.
The survivors were Hanbyeori’s half-health Zed and para’s Aphelios.
Intent on surviving, just as she started retreating,
Aphelios launched his ultimate while emitting a yellow spark and charged into the enemy team.
The ultimate he cast was the Crescent Blade ultimate.
The four existing crescent blades in his possession were joined by nine more, totaling thirteen illusionary blades surrounding Aphelios.
[QUADRA KILL!]
“Insane.”
Aphelios wrecked the enemy team with absurd DPS from his chaotic movements, eliminating all enemies.
Thinking the game wouldn’t end with Cassiopeia remaining as her wave-clear wasn’t bad,
[BigandHeavy (K’Sante): What is this?]
[BigandHeavy (Cassiopeia): Orb of Revival]
[BigandHeavy (Cassiopeia): Orb of Revival]
[BigandHeavy (Cassiopeia): Orb of Revival]
Cassiopeia surrendered, ending the game.
Aphelios sent a single chat to Lee Sinn, who’d been whining since champion selections.
[para (Aphelios): Mr. Lisim, how’s my work?]
The previously complaining Lisim couldn’t utter a single word.
[Right top-tier player normalized immediately]
[Bartender! A soda please!]
[If you see the chat, this person’s also toxic lol]
[Cleaver Crescent is a god… God… God…]
[How’s my work…? How’s my work…? How’s my work…?]
