Chapter 329 Stone Emblem
“Ha… Anyway, I finally got one, and I’ve completed one-sixth of the task…”
Taking a long sigh of relief, Dorothy said this as she carefully examined the Holy Emblem of the Savior of Radiance placed in her palm. After watching it for a while, she thought to herself.
‘The Holy Emblem of the Savior of Radiance… this should be the easiest one to obtain among the six Pure Color Deities. After all, the Radiant Church is currently the only official faith publicly preaching. Although the belief in the Savior of Radiance seems quite cold under the pressure of the Three Saints, it still exists, so I could get the Holy Emblem with money. However, for the others, money might not be enough…’
As Dorothy pondered this, her expression suddenly became serious, and she murmured.
“No… maybe there is another Holy Emblem that can be obtained with money.”
Having said that, Dorothy placed the Holy Emblem she got for nine hundred pounds into the Magic Box and then controlled her Zombie Puppet Coachman to start the carriage from the roadside, driving forward. She was heading back to the northern outskirts now.
……
Northern outskirts of Tivyán, east of King Campus, Green Shade Town.
In front of No. 37 Green Shade Town, Dorothy, dressed in a little suit, had just stepped down from the carriage. She skillfully rang the doorbell of the old house and after waiting for a while, the door opened. Beverly, dressed in home clothes and looking a bit lazy, appeared at the entrance. Upon seeing Dorothy, her eyebrows slightly raised, and she spoke.
“Hello, look who’s busy! Are you here to send a letter or talk business?”
“I have some questions. If I get the answers, we might talk business. Let’s go inside and discuss it.”
With that, Dorothy walked straight into the house, sitting down on the living room sofa. After surveying the surroundings, she realized that everything in the house seemed normal this time; there were no strange parts or machines. It appeared Beverly wasn’t tinkering with anything today.
Beverly entered the living room after Dorothy but didn’t sit down immediately. Instead, she used the newly invented automatic coffee machine on the side table to brew a cup of coffee for Dorothy, then brought it to her. Afterward, she took her own seat. Dorothy took a sip of the coffee, savoring its taste, and nodded in response.
“This coffee is really well brewed! If your automatic coffee machine can make coffee at this level and gets promoted to the public, you could make quite a profit.”
“If only it could be promoted. This technology contains elements of Poison Recognition, so it can’t be shared with the public; I can only use it for myself~”
Beverly lightly replied to Dorothy, her words confirming Dorothy’s previous speculation that the Extraordinary Beings of the White Stone Craftsmen Guild must possess many technologies that exceed this era, but due to Poison Recognition, they can only use them themselves and cannot change society.
After taking another sip of coffee, Dorothy placed the cup on the table and asked Beverly.
“I came here today to inquire about some information regarding the deities in the ‘Stone’ domain; you should know who the Pure Color Deity in the ‘Stone’ domain is, right?”
Dorothy spoke earnestly to Beverly, who, after hearing this, was slightly taken aback, then raised her eyebrows and said.
“Oh, you know the concept of Pure Color Deities! It seems your studies in Mysticism have progressed a lot recently. Why did you suddenly come to ask me this? Is it for some research or ritual?”
With an intriguing look, Beverly addressed Dorothy, who straightforwardly replied.
“More or less. Anyway, just tell me if you know about this. The Pure Color Deity in the ‘Stone’ domain isn’t the Construct Core, is it?”
Dorothy asked tentatively, while Beverly shook her hand to respond.
“Of course not. The domain of the Construct Core primarily focuses on ‘Stone’ with supplementary ‘Lamp’; its essence lies in the smelting and forging of ‘Stone’, shaping and recreating, representing constant innovation and change. Pure ‘Stone’, on the other hand, is much more primitive. Pure ‘Stone’ symbolizes the stable and simple mountains and earth, untapped treasures; thus compared to the Construct Core, pure ‘Stone’ is relatively rigid and unchanging.”
Beverly explained to Dorothy, and after a brief pause, she spoke seriously.
“According to our Guild’s research, although the faith in the Pure ‘Stone’ domain no longer exists, there used to be a belief in the God of Stones long ago. This deity was referred to as the ‘Prince of Stone’ or the Lord of the Mountains, Son of the Earth.”
“Prince of Stone…” Listening to Beverly’s words, Dorothy’s eyebrows furrowed slightly. After thinking for a moment, she continued.
“When was this faith in the Prince of Stone active? According to what you said, it has already disappeared?”
“I’m not too sure. According to some colleagues in the Guild, the traces of the faith in the Prince of Stone are quite rare even in secret history. It is only known that this faith was very ancient, having existed at least in the Second Era, and continued into the Third Era, but now it has completely vanished.”
“In today’s era, the primary faith for us in the White Stone Craftsmen Guild, and even in the entire Secret World of ‘Stone’ Extraordinary Societies, is the Construct Core… or the Mechanical God. Besides that, there seems to be something called the ‘Dark Gold Society’ that gathers a bunch of pure merchants, worshipping a deity known as ‘Dark Gold’ that can bring wealth.”
With an open hand, Beverly explained to Dorothy. From her words, Dorothy realized that the faith in the Pure Color God known as the Prince of Stone seemed to have vanished completely, similar to that of the Goddess of Abundance.
Although she didn’t know the exact relationship between the Cup Mother and the Goddess of Abundance, if it were a matter of inheritance, then the Prince of Stone seemed even more severe, having left no remnants of faith.
Listening to Beverly’s words, it seemed that in the current ‘Stone’ domain, the faith in the Construct Core was the largest, and in a certain sense, the White Stone Craftsmen Guild was influenced or even dominated by it. Besides the Construct Core, there seemed to be a deity called “Dark Gold,” which Beverly described as a commercial god.
Given this, it appeared that the current number of existing deities in the ‘Stone’ domain was fewer than in the ‘Lamp’ and ‘Cup’ domains. Dorothy wondered if Beverly only knew this much or if there were only these. If it were only these, wouldn’t that imply a significant number of vacancies in the divine hierarchy along the path of ‘Stone’?
After listening to Beverly’s account, Dorothy did not respond immediately but instead pondered in her heart, while Beverly sat calmly, crossing her legs, a smile on her face as she watched Dorothy.
“Prince of Stone, huh? Hmmm… that name feels a little strange. Obviously a god, yet being referred to as ‘Prince’. It seems to me that since ‘Stone’ and ‘Cup’ correspond to two types of spirituality, the Pure Color God of ‘Cup’ is the Cup Mother, so the one referred to as the Father of Stone should be Stone Father instead. Why is there suddenly a title like Prince of Stone?”
Touching her chin, Dorothy quietly expressed her confusion to Beverly, who slightly waved her hand in response.
“I’m not too sure about that. The title Prince of Stone was what people in the Church of Stone called their deity. We just continued using this title, but the reason they referred to their god as Prince of Stone instead of Stone Father will probably require delving deeper into more hidden historical texts to uncover.”
