Chapter 41: The Impact of the Body
Although the Little Princess had shown her affection towards me several times during our previous travels, I felt that her feelings were merely that of a young girl towards her family. I doubted it was anything resembling romance.
“Have you ever asked her? Sometimes, if you don’t ask, just relying on your own feelings won’t get you anywhere.”
Gaia seemed dissatisfied with my answer. As a man, I should be straightforward and ask if she liked me instead of just interpreting my feelings.
“No, I don’t think it’s necessary. Besides, I’m not like you, Gaia. You’re a lofty king, while I’m just an ordinary adventurer. There’s no reason for her to look my way.”
I took a sip of red tea, pondering the differences between myself and Gaia.
“While you make a good point, I think you’ve forgotten that Aierjisi isn’t actually a princess of the Blood Clan anymore. The Blood Clan has been wiped out, and if it were now, I think you might have a chance.”
Gaia was aware of parts of the Blood Clan’s situation. The race no longer existed on the continent. If I hadn’t seen Aierjisi alive with my own eyes, I’d have also thought the Blood Clan had completely vanished from the world.
In this situation, the title of Blood Clan Little Princess was merely symbolic. Now, she was just a former princess, and given her current state, I still had a chance.
“Never mind. There are all sorts of other issues. Even though she once said she liked me, I don’t think it was romantic.”
“Is that so?”
“It is. Please stop bringing it up; we can’t become a couple.”
I looked at Aierjisi. At most, I could only regard her as a little sister in need of my care, and there was no way we could become lovers.
“Alright then. Since you’ve said so, I won’t pry any further.”
Gaia didn’t know much about the situation between Aierjisi and me. He felt it was best not to intervene. There’s a saying, “Familiarity breeds fondness.” After all, we were just getting to know each other. If we spent years together like he and Ailin had, perhaps we could become a couple too.
“Well, it’s getting late. I need to go back and prepare to handle official duties. I’m taking my leave.”
Gaia glanced out the window; the sky had turned darker. That meant it was getting late, and he couldn’t leisurely enjoy his afternoon tea any longer.
“Then we should prepare to leave as well. We need to test the new weapons. Yake, you should join us for the testing.”
Seeing that Gaia was leaving, Aierjisi also prepared to follow.
“Alright. Miss Mios, thank you very much for treating me to afternoon tea.”
“No thanks needed. As long as you’re willing to come, I can serve you tea whenever. I haven’t enjoyed afternoon tea this much in a long time. Thank you both.”
Mios expressed her gratitude. Ever since Ailin had been captured, afternoon tea had lost its charm. Thanks to the adorable Aierjisi, I was able to rediscover the joy of tea.
“Yake, there’s something I must tell you.”
Once we left Mios’s room and were walking through the palace corridors, Aierjisi suddenly spoke up.
“What is it? I’m all ears.”
“It’s not a big deal. It’s about Mios—he’s actually a man.”
“Oh. A man, huh? Wait, what? Mios is a man?”
I was initially caught off guard, just casually agreeing, but then I processed what Aierjisi had said and was shocked by this startling revelation.
“You seem surprised. I was too when I first heard it. But Gaia told me himself that Mios is a man, and he just enjoys dressing up as a girl.”
“How could that be…”
After Aierjisi revealed this shocking fact, I felt a bit sad.
I had thought Mios was a girl, and I had even started to develop feelings for her, only to discover she was a man. It was such a blow to my heart.
“Alright, alright, why are you sad? You’ve still got me, right? I don’t mind letting you cry on my shoulder.”
Aierjisi opened her arms to me, not objecting to the idea of me crying like a child in her embrace.
“Forget it. I’m not a child. It’s just a bit of a sad situation; I won’t cry that easily.”
【Besides, with your flat chest, my face would definitely hurt if I cried on it.】
I completed that thought silently in my mind.
“You were just thinking that my chest is flat, so crying on it would hurt, right?”
“Uh? No way!”
Aierjisi seemed to have read my mind, making me panic. Could this Little Princess genuinely read minds?
“No chance! I know exactly what you’re thinking. Don’t forget, we’re connected through the contract. Your thoughts? I can find out everything through it. Trying to fool me? No way.”
Aierjisi was already connected to my heart through the contract. She knew my thoughts and feelings clearly.
“Uh? The contract does that? So I have no privacy at all?”
“Don’t forget, in front of me, you’ve never had any privacy. You’re my property; I gave you your life. What’s it to me to know your feelings? By the way, you still see me as a kid, right? I overheard all your thoughts during your previous conversation with Gaia.”
“Uh? You knew all that too? So this…”
To be honest, the situation only seemed to worsen for me. My thoughts were laid bare for this Little Princess. This contract was way too overpowered.
On the other side, Aierjisi felt a bit troubled. Yake still saw her as a child, but she was a 22-year-old adult! She should have been more mature in her daily behavior, yet sometimes, she couldn’t help but lean towards a childish demeanor. This must be the influence of her body.
