It’s raining!
Yue Hongling was jolted awake by a thunderclap.
Her heart skipped a beat.
Not good!
She had been so caught up in the battle that she had completely forgotten that Feng Wuxie might be in danger lately.
The Human Clan was winning consecutively, while the Demon Clan had been pushed to their limit. Even a cornered dog could jump over the wall; it looked like it was time to ease off on attacking the Demon Clan.
The Human Clan could take a breather and digest the treasures they had gained recently.
For now, she would stay with Feng Wuxie to help him get through this ordeal.
“Senior Brother, you once told me this was a trap, and in this life, I will prevent this from happening.”
Yue Hongling immediately called over Luo Yuan and Feng Longxiang.
“Miss Yue, who are we going to fight next?” Feng Longxiang asked, towering at a mighty eight feet tall, looking like a little giant.
He belonged to the Robber Sect, the only sect among the great powers that practiced body refinement techniques, and their methods were quite interesting.
Practicing the Robber Sect’s techniques involved first growing bigger, the first transformation being like a little giant, then shrinking down to the size of a teenager, growing again like a small mountain, shrinking again like a child, growing to the size of a giant mountain, and finally shrinking down to the size of an infant.
This cycle could elevate one’s physical strength with each round.
Just looking at Feng Longxiang’s gaze showed how much he respected Yue Hongling.
Luo Yuan fixed her gaze on Yue Hongling, her eyes filled with a kind of recognition and appreciation of beauty.
“I’m going out for a while. You two will take charge of the Human Clan’s matters. No more attacks, just focus on defense and properly digest what we’ve gained,” Yue Hongling said.
“But we’re riding such a wave of momentum and not striking?” Feng Longxiang asked incredulously.
“Yep, time to digest resources and turn them into our own strength. That’s the real gain. Just blindly attacking without elevating your power is risky—it could leave you with nothing.” Yue Hongling explained.
“Alright then, where are you going? If you need someone, I could tag along with you!” Feng Longxiang said seriously.
“Shangguan Wuchang is too unpredictable, and I’m not looking for a fight, so I don’t need you following me. If you two can’t decide, just go find Zhu Wangtian.”
“Got it.”
After a moment of hesitation, Yue Hongling spoke up again.
“If it really comes down to a crisis, you can go to the Heavenly Spirit Pool and call for my Senior Brother’s help. Once he’s out, all problems will be solved.”
Hearing this, both Feng Longxiang and Luo Yuan couldn’t hide their surprise.
Her Senior Brother?
If Yue Hongling was already that strong to suggest looking for her Senior Brother in desperate times, then her brother must be…
“Is your Senior Brother really that strong?” a combativeness suddenly sparked in Feng Longxiang’s heart.
Yue Hongling couldn’t help but chuckle, her smile conveying a mixture of complex meanings.
“Anyway, just remember, if it comes to a moment of despair, head to the Heavenly Spirit Pool. But don’t mention that it was me who sent you.”
Hmm, Yue Hongling was still somewhat aware of her own position.
Who knows, Lu Ye might have actually planned to step in, but upon hearing, ‘Oh, Yue Hongling sent you,’ then it’s all good.
That would be a disaster avoided.
After settling the matters, Yue Hongling left.
She took out the Treasure Conch.
“Where are you right now?”
Meanwhile…
Monsters and demons from various factions had just begun to establish contact, while Feng Wuxie sat cross-legged, quietly recovering from his injuries, with two powerful demon clan members watching him closely.
“Buzz buzz buzz…”
The Treasure Conch placed before Feng Wuxie began to vibrate.
The two demon guards instantly tensed up.
A broad knife was positioned at Feng Wuxie’s throat.
“You won’t say anything you shouldn’t, right?”
“Of course,” he replied.
A hint of sarcasm and ruthlessness flashed in his eyes—had he really sunk so low that they were bothering to contact him now?
What had they been doing before?
After all those times he had pleaded to join them, calling for help, it was practically begging, and yet, what came of it?
There was no going back.
Everything was lost.
“Where are you right now?” Yue Hongling’s clear voice came through the Treasure Conch.
Feng Wuxie looked up at the two demons.
“How should I respond?”
The two demons exchanged glances. They had just managed to connect with the major clans, but weren’t fully prepared yet.
“Let’s ask the Little Dragon King.”
“No time for that! If I don’t respond for too long, Yue Hongling will definitely get suspicious.” Feng Wuxie said decisively.
“But we have to check with the Little Dragon King!”
“I said there’s no time!”
Feng Wuxie suddenly found his voice again, shouting defiantly even with a knife at his throat.
The two demons…
Feng Wuxie brought the Treasure Conch to his mouth.
“Don’t worry, if I’ve already conspired to have her killed, I absolutely will not leave her with any hope of survival. If she dies, it will only be my own demise!”
“You all need to trust me now—there’s no one else you can trust!”
One demon left; the other showed no more resistance to Feng Wuxie contacting Yue Hongling.
Feng Wuxie cleared his throat.
“Hongling, you actually took the initiative to find me?”
His voice brimmed with excitement.
The demon holding the knife to Feng Wuxie’s throat couldn’t help but reveal a hint of contempt—what a pathetic character.
Buzz buzz buzz…
“Where are you now? I’ll come find you,” Yue Hongling asked.
“Ah, you want to come find me? That’s great! Let me see where I am right now; I’ll tell you the location shortly. There aren’t any notable landmarks around here.”
“Alright!”
Feng Wuxie looked up at the wolf demon.
“Get the Little Dragon King here quickly!”
…
Yue Hongling stood atop a small hill, watching the distant waterfall and quietly waiting.
She was deep in thought.
She had been reborn!
Indeed, she was reborn, but after coming back to life, she lost the fluttering feelings she once had for Feng Wuxie.
Without the excitement of love, could it still be considered love?
How should she interact with Feng Wuxie when they meet again?
Was this her Senior Brother’s fault?
Her eyes reflected a hint of confusion as she recalled the emotions of her past life.
But after all she had been through, she was no longer that little girl; she had gained the wisdom akin to a Great Emperor.
Romantic feelings seemed so trivial compared to the Dao.
If in her previous life, she hadn’t been blocked by her Senior Brother, how much easier would it have been?
Yue Hongling grew agitated.
She picked up the Treasure Conch again, “Where exactly are you? Have you found any landmarks?”
“Hongling, don’t rush! I’m even more anxious than you. Finally, I get to see you again—I’m searching right now, it won’t be long.”
Yue Hongling took a deep breath to calm her inner frustration.
Waiting was waiting; she might as well meditate for a bit.
Time ticked by.
Buzz buzz buzz…
The Treasure Conch vibrated again.
“Hongling, I found it! It’s Flying Thunder Mountain; come meet me there.”
Yue Hongling stood up, and in the blink of an eye, vanished.
Flying Thunder Mountain, a place where the Demon Clan was active. How did Feng Wuxie end up there?
Whatever, it didn’t matter; the Genius Ancient Battlefield was a place she could go anywhere!
