Chapter 434: Daily Good Deed or Shall I Raise Your Daughter as My Own? (Please Subscribe!)
“Hmm… What just happened!?”
When the aftermath of the explosion finally subsided and the deafening booms slowly quieted down, Cat pushed herself off the wall of the room.
At the last moment, she had managed to hear Xiao You’s warning and activated her telekinetic powers just in time to stabilize the room’s contents before the flying bed could crush everyone.
“It’s definitely Dad’s doing… I felt him using my power earlier.”
Xiao You helped Laentoluca up from where she had fallen and said with certainty.
“Can’t be, was that Izay causing all that ruckus? He went out to look for something, right? Why would he come back to blow up the airship?”
Nafude’s small head was filled with big question marks.
“It’s not about blowing up the airship. Dad must’ve been fighting someone nearby; this old bucket probably just got caught in the crossfire!”
Concerned about her father’s reputation, Cat felt it necessary to clarify.
“Forget about that for now. I think we should check on the situation outside… at least try to right the airship?”
Laentoluca looked around the chaotic room of the airship, sighing helplessly.
Because of Izay and Xiao You’s recent interventions, the once spacious room was now cluttered with books and toys. But now… she couldn’t even tell where the books were or where the toys were anymore.
“Laentoluca is right…”
“Let’s go through the window; the door’s blocked by the bed.”
“Uh-huh, makes sense.”
Through the thirty-centimeter-wide window, the four slender girls quickly made their way outside.
The first thing they noticed was that the dust swirling outside seemed even worse than usual.
Then, they spotted the enormous mushroom cloud and flames that hadn’t yet dissipated.
“Xiao You… you think… did Izay cause this?”
Nafude tugged at Xiao You’s sleeve, frozen in shock.
“Maybe?” The latter wasn’t entirely sure what Izay had done to create such a commotion, answering hesitantly: “Should I call him and ask?”
“What’s a ‘call’?”
“Just think of it as a communication device.”
“Oh~”
Under Izay’s influence, the two star spirit cats knew quite a bit.
Especially since Orario had similar magic stone communication devices, they understood fairly quickly.
What puzzled the two more was… what kind of opponent warranted such treatment from their dad?
That level of destruction must have required his full effort, right?
As for Laentoluca and Nafude,
Even though they had already held Izay in high regard upon their first meeting, witnessing such power still left them deeply stunned.
…
Meanwhile, elsewhere,
Izay stared blankly at his spoils of victory. The fish companion, having exhausted its strength, was being replenished by Eluka.
As the creator of the Earth Deity, Eluka’s power was the best remedy for Red Lake Lord. She’d likely be bouncing around again soon.
The effects of the “Life Catalog” were potent.
After defeating the First Beast, despite the great distance, it had still detected the “Source” of the First Beast and purified it into pure energy for absorption.
And then came… an odd bonus item.
This peculiar thing now rested in Izay’s palm, transparent and radiant, about the size of a hand, resembling ancient amber with a tiny figure sealed inside.
Pale black hair, a rather youthful face, and undoubtedly human features.
Even shrunk down to palm-sized proportions, Izay wouldn’t mistake the species.
Whatever this was, it undoubtedly contained a human.
So, what exactly is this?
What am I supposed to do with it!?
Could it be some sort of buff dropped after defeating the boss?
As he thought, Izay’s expression gradually turned disdainful.
Faced with something whose purpose was unclear and suspicious-looking, anyone would react this way.
But considering it came from the “Life Catalog,” it might be something good, so Izay tried putting it into his personal space and had the system identify it.
Among the three functions of the system—aside from tasks and achievements—was the personal panel, where Izay could check his current status and inventory.
In the inventory section, Izay sifted through a pile of miscellaneous items until he found the specific information about the object.
—”Soul of the Human Girl Elmelia”
The name was straightforward, immediately clarifying the nature of the object to Izay.
There was also a detailed note: “Formerly the First Beast of Sighing Moon, sustained due to excessive absorption of Star God energy during its creation but has now lost that power and uniqueness, merely the soul of an ordinary girl lacking a physical body.”
“Beating a boss gives me a girl!?”
Izay tilted back slightly, startled.
The amount of information in this annotation was overwhelming, especially the last line: “lacking a physical body.”
Did that mean preparing a body for her could revive her after five hundred years!?
“…Elmelia, wasn’t she the daughter of a certain Mr. W? Losing that power and uniqueness… so the ‘Life Catalog’ converted the Star God energy and pulled her out too? And cleaned her up?”
Holding the soul crystal of Elmelia under the dim sunlight, Izay began to understand why she appeared here.
The First Beast may fundamentally have been a special kind of “beast.”
Elmelia’s memories and will as a human girl seemed to have influenced the beast’s nature after its birth, even suppressing it.
From how the First Beast had stayed near the small town it lived in for five hundred years without moving, it was evident.
Five hundred years ago, the half-human hero William Kremeshu, her adoptive father, had made a promise with her before going to fight in the war against the Star God.
To await the day that promise would come true, the First Beast created an illusion using the memories of the over three thousand people from its hometown and waited for William’s return.
William never returned, but Izay did.
During the battle with the First Beast, Izay hadn’t sensed any trace of humanity from it, so he hadn’t held back.
Now it seemed that the humanity still existed, just reacting only to specific individuals?
And now, that humanity was in Izay’s possession in the form of a soul crystal.
“Lucky little thing… to be ‘picked’ up by me like this…”
Izay played with the soul crystal as he spoke.
He had both Eluka and Red Lake Lord nearby. For them, creating a human body wasn’t difficult at all. After all, every race in this world was created by the Star Gods.
As deities of this world, Star Gods inherently possessed the authority to create life.
Even Earth Gods should have inherited some of that ability.
And let’s not forget the Gold Fairies…
Even luckier… the girl’s father seems to still be alive, living on one of the floating islands.
“Izay, what are you looking at? What’s that shiny thing in your hand?”
At that moment, Eluka, who had restored much of Red Lake Lord’s strength, approached Izay unnoticed.
The young goddess tapped her lips with her finger, seemingly curious about the object in his hand.
“It’s nothing major, Eluka.”
Upon seeing this, Izay rubbed her crimson hair, which felt surprisingly pleasant to touch.
“But you were staring at it just now. Isn’t it important?”
“No, I was just thinking whether this counts as ‘daily good deed’ or ‘shall I raise your daughter as my own.'”
“—???”
