“Boom!”
A massive roar echoed throughout Flying Thunder Mountain, louder than thunder itself.
Yue Hongling promptly unleashed the Mountain Crash Seal from the Fearless Divine Seal, yet she was still blasted upward by the giant’s full-force strike.
A blood mist swirled around the giant, and the terrifying force of their collision shattered his bones, causing blood vessels to burst under pressure, splattering outwards.
But the mission was accomplished!
Yue Hongling entered the mist, and in the next moment, the fog twisted and swirled, rays of light intertwining as three great formations simultaneously erupted.
Heavenly Demon Illusion Formation!
Divine Celestial Lightning Formation!
Eight Directions Lock Kill Formation!
“Hahaha…”
Countless laughter erupted almost simultaneously from all directions in the mist.
Silhouettes broke through the fog, faces gleeful and eyes greedy as they eyed Yue Hongling.
“I can’t believe we actually led Yue Hongling here, and all by herself. I never expected the invincible Yue Hongling to be such a dimwit!”
“Hehe, she’s not a dimwit. In human terms, we’d say she’s loyal to a fault!”
“A top-tier human powerhouse like Yue Hongling has her eyes on our little pretty boy. Am I not tougher than Feng Wuxie? If it were you…”
Just as he was bragging with a creepy smile, he was suddenly smashed away, a deep footprint nearly crushing his body.
“No need for chatter; just shut up.” The Little Dragon King said coldly.
Yue Hongling’s eyes widened.
The sudden turn of events left her in an indescribable shock.
How could this be!
Is this a trap?
Did Feng Wuxie guide her into this trap?
Why is this happening?
She couldn’t accept it, couldn’t comprehend it. She had clearly indicated to Feng Wuxie that as long as he put in the effort, they could stand together and fight the world in the future.
Given her nature, saying such things was akin to a confession.
She didn’t believe Feng Wuxie couldn’t understand!
But why would he do this? What was his intention? What meaning did it hold?
Suddenly, a memory surfaced in Yue Hongling’s mind—a flashback of a heated argument with Lu Ye.
“Junior Sister, you can’t go. Feng Wuxie summoned you for sure as a trap. If you go, the Demon Clan will definitely capture you.”
“How could it be a trap? The Demon Clan has no idea of my feelings for Feng Wuxie!”
“How can you be sure they don’t know? Your strength isn’t great, and Feng Wuxie is being hunted. Why would he want you to rescue him?”
“Just because I’m weaker, does that mean the Demon Clan would conveniently target me?”
“It’s because their ultimate goal is me!”
“Hahaha, Brother, you’re overthinking it. The Demon Clan would plan for Feng Wuxie to lure me in and then have me lead you? That’s impossible. You’re just seeing Feng Wuxie too negatively.”
“Numerous alien tribes have been pushed to the brink by us humans; they can’t win directly, so they have to take risks. Plus, I’ve gotten word that the Demon Clan is closely coordinating with the Ghosts, Demons, and Celestial tribes; there’s bound to be an enormous danger.”
“But that enormous danger wouldn’t target someone as average as me!”
“You! You’re such a blockhead!”
“Regardless, I’m going! I’m going to save Feng Wuxie!”
“No way!”
“I absolutely have to go!”
“You can’t go; I said so!”
“Brother, you’re just jealous of Feng Wuxie!”
“You can’t go!”
“If you don’t let me go, I… I’ll just die in front of you…”
Yue Hongling sighed softly.
Her expression settled, for in battle, she wouldn’t allow herself to feel intense emotions.
Any emotional fluctuations could greatly affect her performance.
But despite her efforts, the enemy didn’t share her sentiments.
“Yue Hongling, do you want to see Feng Wuxie?” The Little Dragon King asked.
Perhaps out of stubbornness, Yue Hongling nodded.
“Let’s see.”
Feng Wuxie was dragged forward, bloodied and bruised, his bones surely broken in more than one place.
Earlier, the Little Dragon King had grown increasingly displeased and decided to beat him up some more.
Yue Hongling looked at Feng Wuxie, and unexpectedly, she felt no emotional reaction—no sadness, no hatred, no pain.
“So this is what you’ve become?” Yue Hongling tried to hold onto a flicker of hope.
The Little Dragon King chuckled.
“Don’t get it twisted; he ended up like this not because we forced him to lure you here. It’s simply because he actively claimed he knew you and could help us kill you. I detest this sort of vile behavior, so I did this to him.” The Little Dragon King laughed.
His words completely shattered Yue Hongling’s thoughts.
“It’s all your fault!”
Just before she could ask, Feng Wuxie suddenly began to explode with rage.
“It’s all your fault! How many times have I told you? I said I would come to you; I would come to you! You’re so strong! You have the ability to protect me, so why won’t you agree?!”
“Do you even know what I’ve gone through here?”
“If you had just let me follow you earlier, none of this would have happened. You like me, so why not let me follow you? Protect me!”
“You neither protect me nor help me. Even if I speak a hundred words to you, you won’t even reply. What kind of liking is that?”
“You’re just a shameless woman!”
Yue Hongling…
Protect him?
She suddenly burst into laughter.
Feng Wuxie wants her to protect him?
She’s lived a long life, always being protected by her Senior Brother. Whenever she faced issues or difficulties, she’d just stir up trouble with her Senior Brother, who could always resolve things for her.
Now, here’s a guy blaming her for not protecting HIM, making him feel like he deserves to die.
“Feng Wuxie, don’t kill him. Leave him to me!”
Yue Hongling’s voice turned icy.
She spread her arms and legs wide.
“Let’s go together!”
“Boom!”
A bolt of heavenly thunder violently crashed down, the Divine Celestial Lightning Formation unleashed its might first.
Bright, white lightning, powered by heavenly authority, came straight for Yue Hongling.
“Wind Draw Seal!”
With a strike of lightning, figures radiating a powerful aura emerged in eight directions, their energies connected, rushing toward Yue Hongling.
A great battle was about to unfold.
…
“Ding ding ding, host, why did Yue Hongling realize the truth and not cry hysterically like Chu Ling?” The System clanged with confusion in Lu Ye’s mind.
Lu Ye paused for a moment, then replied.
“That’s because she hasn’t fallen into a desperate situation yet.”
“Yue Hongling’s emotions flow like water; in the past, I was the dam, and when it broke, hate poured forth like a flood. Now, with battle as the dam, when that breaks, regret will surge like a torrent.”
“Just take it slow and watch.”
