Chapter 46

Yuric visited the office of the Golden Hand every other day, showing him various pictures and gifting them. The Golden Hand particularly liked Yuric’s drawings, framing each one and hanging them on the walls of his office.

“Your drawings touch the heart. They make one feel happy yet melancholic.”

The Golden Hand was eager to give something back to Yuric each time he received a drawing but Yuric always declined. He did not draw for rewards.

“Just seeing your appreciation is reward enough for me.”

“I understand your heart, but consider my dignity as well.”

In the end, Yuric asked for a warm blanket from the Golden Hand. A good blanket could be very useful during expeditions.

“I will get you the best from the treasury.”

Thus, Yuric received a blanket made from the down feathers of cliff birds that live only on cliffs. While he did not know its worth, the blanket was incredibly soft and warm. It was even waterproof, so one would not get wet when wearing it in the rain.

He sincerely thanked the Golden Hand and presented him with another painting. This one depicted the garden of the Schlieffen mansion, where the sunset was shimmering.

“How splendid. I haven’t been to a garden in quite some time, I should visit soon.”

Yuric also gifted portraits and paintings to knights and mages. Initially, they refused but eventually, moved by their own portraits, accepted the paintings.

“Thank you. I will treasure this.”

Of course, Amic Schlieffen could not stay here indefinitely due to matters in the south, so preparations for departure began.

And just a month after arriving at the main house, the Amic Schlieffen group boarded a carriage again to head south.

Surprisingly, the Golden Hand Niruin came out himself to see them off at the carriage. This was an unusual gesture. Everyone already knew why he had come this far.

“Honestly, I thought my father was a harsh person. But he isn’t… You have a mysterious charm that touches people’s hearts.”

Amic Schlieffen said this while looking out the carriage window at the main house. Yuric sitting opposite lowered his head, modestly saying it was an exaggeration.

Through this experience, Amic had a deeper reflection on human relationships.

The carriage procession soon left the city of the Golden Hand. Yuric felt as if he had wandered in a dreamy meadow.

‘I look forward to seeing you again, Your Grace.’

He did not think it was too distant a future.

When Cecilia’s medicine was nearly depleted, the Amic Schlieffen group arrived back at the Noblevento Fortress.

Of course, treatment continued during the journey back, and Cecilia’s condition visibly improved compared to before. Though her mana channels were still not fully normal, with consistent treatment, she seemed likely to return to normal.

‘The effectiveness is truly fortunate.’

Especially, without the compilation by the Great Witch Adrian, such results would not have been possible. Even with the best circuits, treating her without medication would be impossible.

Yuric had documented the entire treatment process. He planned to compile it later and submit it to the Mage Tower or the Dawn Society.

He hoped those suffering from Mana Blockage Disease could find hope in this, and one day, this disease would no longer be considered incurable.

Of course, since dragon scale powder is not easily obtainable, he intended to research substitutes that could produce similar effects. Though less effective, the problem could be mitigated by taking the medication more consistently over a longer period.

While some might hide their treatment methods or magic for personal use, Yuric had no intention of doing so.

“This is not solely mine. Magic must not be confined.”

Alchemy was learned from Senior Adrian, and circuitry from Senior Ingris. Without their knowledge shared with him, this would never have seen the light of day.

Yuric recalled Brother Luke. Like Luke who gave love to children, Yuric wanted to spread beneficial things widely in his own way.

Thus, Yuric spent several nights organizing his research and compiled the treatment process. After creating two additional copies, he sent one to the Dawn Society and another to the Mage Tower, keeping the original in a bag. Since the Magic City of Bemberg was not far, his compilation would quickly reach the Dawn Society.

At the Dawn Society in Bemberg,

A small box containing a manuscript was delivered to the office responsible for magical papers. An office worker opened it out of curiosity. It was a compilation of someone’s research.

Occasionally, manuscripts from wandering mages were sent to the office, so he casually read through it. As a mage himself, the office worker could discern the importance of the paper. With ten years of experience in this field, he could tell at a glance.

However, the office worker’s expression and posture slowly changed as he read. Standing up abruptly, he rushed to the head of the manuscript department.

“Director!”

“Why?”

The head of the manuscript department, who spent his day wrestling with words and smoke, looked at the office worker with a grim face. He handed over the compilation, asking him to read it.

Frowning and adjusting his glasses, the head read the compilation thoroughly. Then, he returned to the beginning to check the author’s name.

“Yuric? Who is this person? Is he part of the Dawn Society? From an academy?”

“Noblevento Fortress submission.”

The head of the manuscript department read the compilation again and stood up immediately.

“Let everyone handle their work. It might take some time.”

“Yes, sir.”

The director headed straight to the council immediately. This discovery was no ordinary matter.

It was about the cure for Mana Blockage Disease, a condition known as incurable for over a hundred years since its naming!

‘Verification is necessary…!’

Naturally, the manuscript needed verification. Despite the pile of items already awaiting verification, such important findings had to be prioritized.

Mage Wolberg was present at the council. Upon reading the compilation, he called for all the members of the council in Bemberg, including Grand Mage Drogman.

“Magician Yuric has written a thesis on the treatment of Mana Blockage Disease. Please read it.”

Each member took turns reading the compilation.

Those familiar with circuitry understood the complexity of the circuits drawn in the compilation. Some even tried casting spells following the circuits.

“Remarkable.”

Even magicians with expertise in alchemy marveled at the potion used for treatment.

“The ingredients are impressive, but the preparation method is extraordinary. This level cannot be achieved by studying alchemy for just a day or two.”

“Who is this Yuric? Is he part of the Dawn Society?”

The head of the manuscript department stated that he was not from the Dawn Society but from Noblevento Fortress.

Mage Wolberg, a council member, decided to first verify the thesis.

“Alart, can you prepare the same medicine? We will provide the ingredients.”

Coincidentally, there were dragon scales purchased from Noblevento Fortress available at the Dawn Society. Alchemist Alart did not want to miss this opportunity to use such precious materials.

“I will prepare it.”

“We will provide the circuits to each research lab. This will ensure proper verification.”

Verification of the circuits was completed within a day.

“Incredible. Who would have thought someone would integrate part of a barrier spell’s circuits here?”

“There are combat magic circuits mixed in.”

“There are control magic circuits as well.”

The circuits were a mixture of everything necessary, a true blend.

Very original and efficient.

When the council reconvened, they unanimously agreed to form a verification team immediately.

Grand Mage Drogman raised his hand to speak.

“Send busy people elsewhere. I will go myself. We have a connection… If we can confirm the treatment effect on patients, it would be a groundbreaking discovery in recent times.”

Of course, many council members also offered to go, but Director Wolberg selected only essential personnel.

Thus, Grand Mage Drogman, Alchemist Alart, and Circuitry expert Gode would visit Noblevento Fortress to verify the findings.

‘…Violetta certainly has a good eye for people…’

Drogman recalled the young man he met on the bridge, sketching.

…If he weren’t a rival’s student, he would have taken him along right away.
