Chapter 46: Did You Misread the Spell?

Chapter 46: Did You Misread the Spell?

“Sleep among the earth giants, heed my call, submit to me, obey me. Fusion Summon! Come forth! Elemental Hero Clayman!”

According to the spell the Little Princess had given him, Yake reached out his palm toward the desert and recited the incantation. He had no idea what this garbled spell meant, but as long as it worked, it should be a good spell.

Then, to his surprise, the sands before him really coalesced into a giant far taller than him.

“Is this giant a bit too tall? Can we even fight it?”

Yake stared at the towering giant he had created, growing anxious at the thought of being flattened against the desert when a battle actually commenced.

【Don’t worry; we created this giant, right? How could we possibly lose? Besides, if it really comes to that, can’t you just command it to stop?】

Joking aside, after fusion, Yake’s strength was on a whole different level. If the fused Yake couldn’t overpower the giant he had summoned, then what was the point of fusing at all? They might as well just let the giant fight for them!

“That’s true, so what should I say next? This giant seems to be waiting for our orders.”

【Hmm… let me think. How did the book say it?】

Aierjisi furiously searched her mind for the contents of the book. She only remembered this one spell clearly; the others were a bit fuzzy.

“Do you only read half the book?”

Yake couldn’t help but roast the Little Princess; she was incredibly unreliable.

【No way! I did read all the data; I just forgot some details. After all, I’m an old lady, and my brain isn’t what it used to be. You need to understand!】

“Ha!”

An old lady? By age, she might qualify, but a 1100-year-old’s mind shouldn’t just deteriorate like that, right?

【Hmm, I think I remember! Try saying this: Giant, fulfill our wishes!】

“Are you sure this spell will work?”

【Whether it works or not, just try saying it out loud and you’ll know!】

“Fine, please don’t let me down.”

Yake raised his hand toward the giant and boldly proclaimed, “Giant, fulfill our wishes!”

Upon receiving this command, the giant’s eyes glowed with a bizarre red light, and it swung a fist right at Yake.

“Whoa! That was close! Luckily, I dodged just in time. Aier, what’s going on? Why is this giant suddenly attacking me?”

Fortunately, Yake’s reflexes kicked in, allowing him to sidestep the giant’s initial strike.

【Isn’t this normal? We summoned it to train against, didn’t we? The spell said to fulfill our wishes, so it knows we want to battle! They’re just things developing as we expected, so don’t worry—take it down, Yake; I believe in you!】

“That’s easy for you to say! Time Piloting!”

Utilizing his Time Piloting power, Yake deftly evaded the giant’s attacks and circled behind it. He launched an attack, and a beam of light blasted the giant to smithereens.

“Phew. This giant doesn’t seem too strong; I took it out with one shot. It’s really pathetic.”

【Don’t get too cocky, Yake! You think what I created was just an ordinary giant? Don’t forget what you used to summon it!】

“It was just sand, what’s the big deal? Ah… I think I get it now.”

Yake stared at the pieces of sand that had returned to their original form. In an instant, he understood why the Little Princess had been so confident.

Because those grains of sand were now coming back together right in front of him, reforming the giant.

【If the opponent is an infinitely respawning giant, we have no complaints for a training partner, right?】

That was indeed the case; an infinitely respawning opponent would provide ample practice.

“No complaints here, I’m teaming up again! Aier, I’ll leave the skill management to you.”

【Don’t worry; I’ll know exactly when to use skills.】

With Aierjisi backing him up, Yake didn’t have to worry about anything and could dive headfirst into the fight.

And so, they battled the giant without any sense of time passing.

“Aier, why does this giant keep getting harder to fight? Is it getting stronger with each revival?”

After tussling with the giant a while longer, Yake felt something was off; the giant was attacking with even more ferocity than before!

【That’s impossible; the spell didn’t state any such effect! If things get out of hand, just command the giant to stop. The spell is: Giant, cease your actions!】

“Giant, cease your actions!”

Following the Little Princess’s instructions, Yake extended his palm toward the giant to command it to halt, but the giant ignored him and kept attacking.

“What’s happening? Aier! Why is this giant still coming at me? Didn’t we just recite the spell?”

【I don’t know what’s going on either; logically that spell should have worked. Why is the giant still attacking us?】

Even Aierjisi, who resided within him, was at a loss. The spell she had learned from the book seemed correct, so why had it failed?

“What should we do next? Are we really going to keep fighting this giant? I can’t handle this!”

【Don’t panic, let me think… Generally, these giants have a fatal weakness. Anyway, it’s a rare chance; why don’t we keep practicing our skills?】

“At this point, you’re still thinking about practicing skills? Are you kidding me? If we’re not careful, we might get obliterated by this giant!”

Yake completely lost his focus. This giant had gone berserk, and Aier was still considering using this opportunity to practice skills?
