Chapter 46: Now that I Know the Intelligence, You Can Die
Fortunately, Aierjisi was no delicate flower raised in a greenhouse; she had undergone intense martial arts and spell training with Leo and Aisi since childhood. When Harker suddenly lunged at her, her body instinctively dodged before her mind even registered the command to evade.
“Hiss…”
Aierjisi covered her arm. Although she managed to avoid most of Harker’s attack, part of her arm was grazed. She had dodged, but not completely unscathed. In less than three seconds, the wound exposed by the attack healed thanks to the Blood Clan’s inherent recovery ability.
“Oh? You managed to dodge. It seems you still have some skills. I thought I could finish you off with just that move. If you fainted, you wouldn’t have to suffer anymore, you know?”
Harker said with a look of regret. This little princess chose to evade my attack instead of continuing the fight; such a foolish choice would only deepen the pain she would face next.
“What did you just do? That power… I can feel it. It’s not the kind of strength belonging to the Blood Clan. It’s something quite dangerous.”
Aierjisi was still pondering the golden light emitted from Harker just now. She could sense that it was a rather ominous power.
“No wonder you’re perceptive. Since I was once a member of the Blood Clan, I’ll tell you this. That power does not originate from our clan. It comes from the Chaos Clan—the Ultimate Life Form of the Adrian People.”
“Adrian People? What is that?”
Upon hearing a term she had never come across before, Aierjisi felt that things were even more serious than she had imagined. Growing up in the Royal Palace, she had read many books and had a fair grasp of information on various races across the continent. However, she had never found anything about the Ultimate Life Form Adrian People in any of her readings.
“It’s not surprising you don’t know. I was also quite shocked when they first appeared before me. I never expected such beings could exist. But that’s not important; what matters is what they did next.”
At that time, Harker had strong combat prowess within the Blood Clan but failed to gain recognition from the higher-ups, which greatly frustrated him.
“Why can’t those Blood Clan folks ever appreciate my talents? My strength is greater than any other Blood Clan member!”
It was in a fit of anger that Harker decided to vent his frustration by taking a vacation outside the Blood Clan when the Adrian People appeared before him.
“The Blood Clan folks will never understand your talents. But us Adrian People are different. We never miss out on talented individuals. How about it? Do you want to unleash your potential on a brand new stage?”
For Harker back then, the Adrian People’s gesture was like a lifeline; feeling aimless and desperate to showcase his talents, he agreed without hesitation and became a member of the Chaos Clan.
Shortly after Harker joined the Chaos Clan, he was assigned an important mission: to capture the Blood Clan Princess Aierjisi alive when the Adrian People launched their attack on the Blood Clan.
While most of the Blood Clan had been defeated by the Adrian People, the key target, Aierjisi, disappeared, leading to the mission being classified as a failure.
“So, about where the rest of the Blood Clan ended up, I have no idea, nor do I care. All I need is to capture you, the one who escaped back then, and fix my mistake.”
With that, Harker charged at Aierjisi once more, determined to subdue her in one blow and complete this mission.
“Seems I should thank you for revealing the true enemy to me. The Adrian People—I’ll definitely settle the score with them!”
Aierjisi used a considerable amount of magic power to enhance her physical abilities in order to contend with Harker.
“Not a chance! You can’t even get past me, let alone settle a score with them! Have a bit of self-awareness!”
Seeing that Aierjisi clearly dismissed him, Harker felt a surge of anger.
“Me? Let me tell you, since you mentioned the existence of the Adrian People, you’re no longer in my eyes!”
Summoning her strength, Aierjisi kicked Harker in the gut, creating distance between them.
“Aierjisi! Don’t underestimate me! I have acquired the Chaos Power bestowed upon me by the Adrian People!”
“So what? Your power is just some insubstantial illusion; relying on power that isn’t yours, how strong can you really be?! Explosive Power!”
Aierjisi concentrated magic into her right hand and unleashed a beam of green light.
“I’ve already said it’s useless… Ah! How is this possible?”
Harker casually summoned a magic shield to block the beam, but the shield shattered the moment it was struck, the light ruthlessly hitting Harker’s body, making him scream in agony.
“I also mentioned that your strength is nothing more than a mere illusion. To defeat me? You’re two thousand years too early!”
Aierjisi didn’t let up, increasing the beam’s magic output, aiming to finish Harker off right there, leaving him no chance to survive.
The continuous damage from the beam made Harker scream out one last time before he collapsed to the ground. It looked like he was really finished off this time.
“Ugh…”
Aierjisi felt an unprecedented sense of exhaustion wash over her, even stronger than when she first awakened from the ruins, making it difficult for her to stay upright. The Explosive Power was a beam with significant piercing power, consuming a lot of magic, and Aierjisi had sustained the output for quite some time to take down the tough Harker. Now, the little princess was left with nearly no magic power remaining.
“Looks like I’ll need a long recovery time before I can move again.”
Struggling to channel the remaining magic power in her body, Aierjisi managed to pull herself up from the ground. She needed to check on Harker’s condition; she couldn’t let him have a chance to turn the tables; if he was still alive, she had to finish him off quickly.
“Ah… I failed… I failed… I failed…”
Harker lay on the grass, staring at the sky, repeating those words. Despite all his efforts, he still couldn’t defeat Aierjisi. Damn, was he really just not her match? No, it couldn’t be. Harker, quickly think—there had to be some last resort he could use.
“Hmm? What’s this? The Chaos Seed Lord Cerberus gave me. Right, I still have this move.”
Looking at the seed hanging around his neck, Harker recalled that when Lord Cerberus had given it to him, he had mentioned it as a “last-ditch weapon, not to be used unless absolutely necessary.” But now, wasn’t this the absolute necessary moment?
Without any more hesitation, Harker swallowed the seed whole.
