Chapter 476: Is there still justice in this world? Is there even law!? (Please subscribe!)
Later, the group didn’t stay long in Ais’ room.
The young girl proactively requested to take a day off today, then lay on her bed and covered her head, preparing for a return-to-sleep nap.
While she could endure the pain, the fatigue from pulling an all-nighter was very real.
Between resting her aching waist or being active, Ais chose the former.
Leaving the young girl’s dormitory, Riviria revealed an expression filled with both reflection and smiles: “She finally knows to rest when her body is uncomfortable… This girl isn’t as stubborn as before…”
In the past, Ais would never compromise on such matters due to her character.
When she first joined the Familial Group as a child, she carried all the luggage of the exploration team without complaint, walking through an entire expedition until she collapsed upon returning to base, sleeping for three days straight, which worried Loki and Riviria immensely.
“Teacher, you don’t need to lament. People grow up eventually… Ais is already sixteen years old. By the customs of the continent, she’s considered an adult,” Izay responded to Riviria’s comment.
“That’s true… Ais has grown up.” Riviria smiled gently, her lips glossy and radiant.
“I feel like you’re hinting at something…” Loki glared menacingly.
That gaze was like calculating where to stab most effectively.
Refia was still delighted by her visit to Miss Ais, the little sprite not yet joining the fray.
No, she hadn’t even found the track yet.
“What’s wrong, Loki? I feel like you have some strange hostility towards Izay today?” At this point, Riviria couldn’t help but intervene.
She understood Loki’s concern over Ais’ injury, but why target Izay?
Did Izay offend you?
If so, it would be understandable, but if it’s vague hostility, Riviria felt she had to speak up.
Actually, between Loki and Izay, she leaned more towards Izay.
Overall, it was maternal protectiveness, and that call of “mom” earlier—Riviria remembered that grudge!
Unfortunately, she didn’t have a staff nearby; otherwise, she would’ve smacked Loki already.
“It’s not like that, Riviria. The feeling I have towards Izay isn’t hostility—it’s ‘hatred’! He just flirted openly with Ais right in front of me! Unforgivable!!”
“…”
Faced with Loki’s tearful wailing, Riviria could only describe her current look as “speechless.”
What nonsense. Typical of you, Loki.
“Mom… What kind of look is that? Why does it feel like you’re looking at a pile of trash?” Catching that expression, Loki muttered unhappily.
“How many times must I say it! Don’t call me ‘Mom’! Dammit, Izay, do you have a staff!? Give me one!!”
“Ah… Yes! Here it is! Teacher, please hit hard!”
In an instant, seeing Izay actually hand over a staff to Riviria, Loki’s expression changed drastically.
You traitors!
I’m a Deity!
Your Supreme Deity, mind you!
How dare you beat your Supreme Deity?!
Is there justice in this Orario anymore? Is there even law?!
==========Crimson King==========
After some roughhousing in the corridor, Loki rubbed her head, which still throbbed slightly.
“Speaking of which, I remember Apollo sent me an invitation to a Divine Banquet yesterday. That guy’s up to no good again. He said this banquet allows Celestial Gods to bring their children along. Any thoughts?”
Changing the topic temporarily, Loki initiated a new conversation.
Initially, upon receiving the invitation, Loki wanted to bring Ais along. But since Ais wasn’t feeling well today, Loki’s plan to have her accompany her to the banquet fell through. So now, Loki would have to choose someone else.
Not attending wasn’t an option.
Clearly, Apollo had ulterior motives this time around, hence the unusual arrangement.
For Loki, it was an opportunity for some entertainment.
After all, each Deity out there was basically a fun-loving individual.
Loki was no exception.
“Isn’t the Divine Banquet usually exclusive to Celestial Gods? It’s never been changed before, so why now?” Riviria furrowed her brows, her tone revealing confusion.
“I’m not sure about the specifics either, but I suspect someone’s about to get into trouble. Apollo, after all, made his name through ‘plundering,'” Loki said gleefully.
Besides his first and strongest Level 3 faction, Apollo gathered most of his elites by forcibly taking talented children from weaker factions.
This strategy helped him secure a position among the middle ranks in Orario, though his reputation was utterly tarnished. However, he didn’t care much about it.
Each time the Guild pursued accountability, he always bribed them with large sums of money, leaving the smaller factions’ grievances unresolved.
This time, Apollo probably set his sights on another faction’s child, preparing for a public grab.
Understanding the situation, Riviria turned away. “If that’s the case, don’t ask me to accompany you. I dislike such occasions.”
Riviria knew Loki was bound to attend for the spectacle, likely boasting about her own child.
Previously, Ais would’ve been the ideal choice, but now… she guessed Loki had her eyes on her instead.
Though childish, such competitive tendencies among Deities weren’t entirely incomprehensible; they had few other hobbies, after all.
Had it not been for Apollo’s ulterior motives, Riviria might’ve softened and agreed.
But with such underhanded dealings involved, Riviria wouldn’t relent.
She personally detested the bullying within Familial Groups.
However, standing by Loki’s faction meant she couldn’t interfere when others were bullied.
Why bother going and making herself uncomfortable?
It was better to skip it altogether and avoid the headache.
“Alas… My family has fallen on hard times… You all despise me, waaah…” Loki wiped fake tears pitifully.
Her act was too exaggerated to fool even the most innocent Refia.
The crying didn’t last long. Loki quickly shifted her tone: “With that settled, Izay, you’re designated to accompany me to this Divine Banquet. Yes, that’s the decision!”
“No, I refuse!” Izay refused without hesitation.
“Your refusal is denied! If you don’t agree, I’ll jump from here!”
“…”
