Chapter 47: How to Get Stronger
“You, surprisingly, have a pretty good tolerance for alcohol! This is already the 30th cup, and you don’t look even a bit tipsy.”
Weirafiya gazed at Aierjisi, who had downed 30 beers just like her. It was impressive; Aierjisi was the first person she encountered who could match her drink for drink.
“Of course! After all, I’m also a fellow traveler from Earth, and this body belongs to the Blood Clan’s Princess Aierjisi. Thirty cups of beer? Pshh, there’s no way I’d fall over that easily!”
Both of them shared a non-human essence, similar to that fiery Phoenix. They were on par when it came to alcohol resistance.
“Well then, let’s have another round! It’s rare to find someone who can keep up with me; we can’t pass up the chance for a wild drinking spree today!”
Today was special, with Aierjisi’s drinking prowess able to rival her own. Weirafiya was determined to drag her into a night of reckless revelry.
“Maybe we should skip it. I’m not like you; I’ve got other things to take care of. If I get drunk, I’m afraid I won’t make it back alone. Don’t forget, I’m still being hunted by those guys. Speaking of which, as someone who’s also being chased, how can you sit here drinking so leisurely?”
“What else can we do besides drink? We have no idea how to shake off their pursuit and live peacefully. Or even get back to Earth. Life is short; we must seize joy when we can!”
“I definitely agree with that! By the way, what brought you to this country?”
“You should know why I’m in this city. If I’m not mistaken, you’re here for the same reason.”
“Exactly! I came here after hearing about Ailin. Are you also hoping to form an alliance with Ailin? After all, having an ally makes things a whole lot safer in this situation.”
“That was indeed my intention. But I got here too late. Ailin has already been captured, and now it’s just the two of us left.”
“Just the two of us, and you can still relax and drink? Isn’t that a bit dangerous?”
“Why worry? If they come, we just run! There’s no need to confront them head-on. Besides, with our current power, defeating them is impossible. Unless we figure out how to boost our strength.”
Weirafiya knew the situation was dire, but it was beyond her control. The disparity in power between them and their enemies was utterly hopeless. Even defeating one of them required her to exert all her strength just to leave a mark on their arm. And there were three of them! No matter how you looked at it, winning was off the table.
“Do you know anything about strengthening our powers?”
Strengthening power was Aierjisi’s top priority. Though she had a Relic of the Gods that allowed her to unleash god-like strength for a brief period, it was not a long-term solution. To truly defeat them, she needed a solid way to enhance her abilities.
“I know a bit, but it’s an impossible method.”
Weirafiya knew she’d ask that. Telling Aierjisi about a way to strengthen power was, regrettably, out of the question.
“Why not?”
“Well, it’s a long story. Let me explain.”
On her way here, Weirafiya had been looking through various libraries in the cities for ways to increase power.
And shockingly, she found rumors of a place that could grant one power to rival the gods.
It was said that long ago, there existed a Sacred Domain called Luluye on this continent.
If one could face and pass the trials set by the domain, they would gain the tremendous strength granted by it. This is why many had tried throughout history to conquer the trials of the domain.
“I see! So such a place exists in this world! But where is this Sacred Domain, Luluye, now?”
Now that she knew there was a place to gain great power, Aierjisi planned to try her luck there after resolving the current crisis.
“Now, that’s not for you to think about. Since I’ve already said it’s impossible, it’s impossible—because Luluye no longer exists in this world.”
Weirafiya took another sip of her drink and continued explaining to Aierjisi.
According to the knowledge she gathered, Luluye inexplicably vanished from the continent about 30 million years ago. Because of that, the beings of this world lost their chance to gain more tremendous power.
“30 million years ago? That long? But how could such a sacred domain just disappear?”
“Who knows? After all, the origins of that domain are a mystery, so its sudden disappearance isn’t too surprising. Just when I thought there was no other way, I found another method—a way to strengthen our powers.”
“What method? Stop with the suspense and spill the beans already!”
Aierjisi was getting impatient. If there was another method, she wanted to hear about it right now!
“The other method is known as Fusion. 1 + 1 = 2.”
“F-Fusion?”
Aierjisi went wide-eyed. What on earth did this so-called Fusion entail? And besides, she wasn’t a vegetable—how on earth would they even achieve this fusion?
Plus, the thought of fusing with Yake… No way, that image was too dreamy; she couldn’t even bear to think about it!
“Yes, that’s what I mean by Fusion! But as for how to actually achieve it, I have no clue. According to the books, first, you need to sign a Contract to become allies, just like I did with Yaser. We’ve signed a contract to be each other’s partners, and of course, I’m the one on top. Yaser, do you have any objections?”
“None whatsoever. I wouldn’t dare object, Miss. Please continue!”
With Yaser’s affirmative response, Weirafiya nodded satisfactorily and continued her explanation.
“But that’s just the first stage of the contract. To achieve Fusion, you must sign a second-stage contract.”
“And how do you sign this second-stage contract?”
